      Same with snails actually. Most landsnails lay eggs, numbers can vary anywhere from 5 to 200 to 1000 eggs per laying. Some snails however give birth to live babies.
      Just some random info from a snail mom~
      Oh, I forgot to mention that all snails are born with their house. It inhabits all their organs. You can actually see their heart beating though the shell of a baby snail.
      They have glands at the (shell)opening that build a few milimeter of new shell at a time, one ring bigger than the one before so the shell gets larger over time.

    • @CheshieD
      @CheshieD 3 года назад +46

      Because that’s what the majority of their development goes towards.
      Humans can’t walk at birth because most of the pregnancy is used to develop the brain. If we had smaller (and dumber) brains we’d likely be born able to walk, or atleast able to crawl because more time would be spent developing our bodies. However that would mean humans would have to have evolved to do have wider hips in order to birth a slightly larger baby.

    Insane example of adaptive evolution. Doesnt even build a nest. Is on the most narrow and potentially flimsiest branch so a potential predator would struggle reaching it if they tried climbing and give the Chameleon time to escape. Then its babies automatically have the wherewithal to know how to stick to said branch for it's own safety. The 1st baby literally looked like it could have fallen as soon as it unfurled itself but stuck to the branch instantly like a champ and started climbing around

      It probably hurt but nowhere close to human birth. Almost all animals have gone through proper evolution so giving birth is nowhere as bad as humans have it. We've evolved with huge beads and small hips so it's a lot tougher on humans. Not to mention all the other evolutionary advantages we had to sacrifice for our intelligence

It’s beautiful that these babies were born and how they are born. But chameleon owners are thinking of the females health always.
