Honda Fit / Jazz GE 8 Retractable (Folding) Mirror Disassembly - Repair

This video shows how to remove, disassembly of Honda Fit / Jazz GE8 folding mirror (retractable mirror). When your folding mirror is not responding (press the fold /unfold is not responding), some it just a dirty, DC motor out off work or gear is broken. The work based on the Honda Fit / Jazz GE-8 Repair Manual. In general, there are three steps:
1. Door trim removal
2. Folding mirror disconnect and removal
3. Folding mirror disassembly
When your folding mirror is not work, you can replace:
1. Whole mirror module (about 100 USD)
2. Folding mirror module (about 50 USD)
3. DC motor of folding mirror module (10 USD)
It's depend on how serious of the folding mirror damage and your time and challenge to repair it :-)

In the signal lamp there is not properly a bulb.There are 2 leds part o a lamp and the leds are inseparable of the lamp. I show you one mirror with the broken lamp.

Hi, great video. My dad's honda jazz 2004 motor arm is making a noise as it's trying to fold in or fold out but no action at all. I'm going to take the mirror apart to disconnect it for now to stop that annoying noise. I'm in the UK and have tried to look for the DC motor but not sure where to find one or what one really is suppose to look like and all the details etc. If someone wouldn't mind giving me a hand I would be entirely greatful!!

Usually the gear was broken

Hondas are always pita, the motor breaks the assembly and comes out, cannot repair, and new is made out of gold.

Good job mate. My girlfriend's Jazz has a runaway motor on the mirror. I am not going to bother fixing it, but your video will help me to just disconnect it to stop the noisy motor. Cheers

Did you just disconnect the cable in the door panel to stop the mirror motor running? My girlfriend Honda Fit has same issue. The mirror motor just runs all the time.

what can be the cause of this sidemirror because whenever I press them to fold, my right sidemirror keeps on unfolding itself but my left one is okay

Thanks for the video. But my honda mirror adjust all work, but when press folding button, only the passenger side works, what could that be please?

In my case only the driver's side works. I can see that the motor is receiving the command but it's like the mirror is stuck.

I have had the mirror movement and the indicator fail at the same time. Such a pain. I can’t recall if the retraction is still working or not

Thanks for the post. Mine seems to have a problem with the folding gear because the motor sounds like its working but could have skipped a gear. are there any replaceable parts inside ?
