I missed a small optimization note - just like Stargaze II, Stargaze I can also be instantly cancelled with skills, so instead of just doing something like Stargaze V -> Dodge -> Fire -> Stargaze II, you can do: Stargaze V -> Dodge -> Stargaze I -> Fire -> Stargaze II, for a little extra damage! Basically - you should be fitting a Stargaze I before every natural skillcast that follows a dodge.
I'm Having trouble with 15:51 Stargaze IV > cancel dodge > Fire > Cast time back always back to Stargaze I no matter i spam it. Quick Charge already lv 30

I've used your guide for deep dungeons in ffxiv, I'm so happy to discover you covering my favorite character in this game too! I so glad to know I'm in good hands with the math to back it up. Thanks for the great guide as always, i learned a lot about optimization with things other guides haven't mentioned like pushing out stargaze ii for maximizing dps, and the difference between cancelling stargaze ii vs v with skills/dodge, im excited to try it out. Also thank you for including small things like cd time and multipliers on the skills/attacks, it's so hard for me to visualize what i should be doing to optimize without them, or things like how quick cast doesn't stack with not leylines, which i didn't feel like it did but it's very nice having confirmation it doesn't.

I DO want to cover other characters eventually, but as you might imagine, it's a ton of work for this format haha ~ something I'm going to experiment with later will be some super short-format guides (like 2 minutes or something), so I can have some more bite-sized projects in between the bigger ones (also because I think they're totally useful!)~

A) I think cooldowns are a nice thing to have for all characters! Though, it's the community that's helping to collect the skill data for others right now, and for some reason none of them are bothering with the cooldowns haha... guess I'll go get them myself in due time ~ B) I would love to cover more characters! But, it kinda takes a good amount of time to learn all the intricacies, I'm still cooking up Io tech as we speak - if I'm to cover other characters, I have a lot of git gudding to do first!!

For the weapon inbue, you are going to want Cascade 4/5 so you can get the most value from cascade. Unlike alot of other sigils, Cascade maxes out at 20 so if you get 15 from Sigil and 4/5 from Weap, its hot

oh dont worry if the lucilius raid is very mechanic heavy and isn't a pushover i'll definitely cover that in ff14 raid style guide (^: i love illustrating mechanics
would be interesting to see raid planner for fight for simple mechanic like supernova in proto like G1 G2 G3 G4 for each turret responsible and which corner they go to for to reduce a friendly hit or mechanic break down of some fight like i still have no idea why Pyet-A second firefly give less time to break all the orb. People clear the content no problem but I don't see any content creator talk about the detail of the mechanic mostly will be like just DPS it or just dodge it

Awesome Guide! In the video Maygi says you have innate stout heart when casting star gaze? But on the dummy i get interrupted when charging star gaze still? EDIT: You get stout heart when you get the quick cast feature.
Bro can a guide be any more perfect? An analysis on every skill, a Damage cap calculator (that calucated the damage cap for every attack), and little nuisances (like dodging between the combo rotation). Guide so good I ain't seeking any more gaps in info on the character lol. I finished making my Rackam, so I'm trying another character now. I wanted to try narmaya since her blue combo finisher, SBA aestetic looks cool and her butterflies reminds me of Utawaremono. I tried her, but then wanted a character with more utility with the mobility. Io seems fun with paralysis ( and it probably my favorite looking magic animation in the game); however, I need to understand the damage cap and combo playstyle and this guide satisfies all of my confusion and more.

Oof, that note on Crit Damage sigils... I guess I never bothered wondering if it was additive with the 50% from the stinger masteries and whatever else is in the mastery tree. Gonna have to give my sigil setups a once-over.
I believe gravity vortex should be a good link time extender. Abilities that persist for a long time and do many separate instances of damage usually are.

I always anim. cancel Stargaze V into a skill, but I see you mentioning dodge-cancelling first and then casting a skill. However, there are some moments in your video where you do cancel Stargaze V into another skill. Is there a reason for preference of dodge-cancelling the Stargaze recovery animation instead of skill-cancelling? I mean besides when all skills are on cooldown. Thanks again for the amazing video!

ive been focusing on narm, eugen, and cag. now i wana try someone new and it was between percival and io. i was really looking forward to percival because his flame attacks just look cool but he seems to be incredibly basic. io seems much more involved to actually do good.
I never play Io but just about to, so I look for the guide. Your guide is very professional and it's make me feel stupid for some reason cuz I don't get it. LOL 😅

Skills are attacks that just use skill damage/skill cap modifiers instead of that of other attacks. The mechanics with crits and everything is the same!

And of course you don't need a max crit over mastery to hit 100%... but you do need it to hit 100% with a single sigil slot (on everything, not just charge attacks)! (unless you get a 7+5 crit sub wrightstone but then you miss out on other potential lines...)
If you compare it to a standard rotation that takes gravity well, it's at least 20% better. I reparsed both with the same stats, and got 25m on standard, 30m with advanced.
Perhaps eventually... as you might imagine, it takes a tremendous amount of hours haha... it took me like 3 days of editing until 6 AM every day for the video alone, not to mention the testing process and text guide ... !
How do you determine each specific moves damage cap? That's the reason I subbed to you and just curious as to how you got that data? Thanks! Ex. Io's Stargaze 5 = 299,999 max capped with 3 orbs. Where can I see Percivals Schlachts Damage cap? I'm currently sitting at 591k with 65/65 damage cap and fully awakened terminus withh glass cannon. not sure if 591k is really the highest though but my attack glows on the dummy
To calculate the base damage cap, you just run a setup that's guaranteed capping and then reverse calculate it. For simplicity, I prefer to switch weapons off Terminus and unequip all sigils, putting on only raw damage sigils. Base damage cap = 54% from masteries + 20% from terminus = 74% Over mastery is important to account for as well; let's say you have 20% normal attack cap If you test a normal attack and cap at 19398, you can just divide it by your current cap (1.94) to get 9999, which is the natural cap!

Pretty sure you don’t need a max crit over mastery to hit 100%. Otherwise it’s the best Io guide I’ve seen so far as an Io main.

And of course you don't need a max crit over mastery to hit 100%... but you do need it to hit 100% with a single sigil slot (on everything, not just charge attacks)! (unless you get a 7+5 crit sub wrightstone but then you miss out on other potential lines...)

If you compare it to a standard rotation that takes gravity well, it's at least 20% better.
I reparsed both with the same stats, and got 25m on standard, 30m with advanced.

Perhaps eventually... as you might imagine, it takes a tremendous amount of hours haha... it took me like 3 days of editing until 6 AM every day for the video alone, not to mention the testing process and text guide ... !

How do you determine each specific moves damage cap? That's the reason I subbed to you and just curious as to how you got that data? Thanks! Ex. Io's Stargaze 5 = 299,999 max capped with 3 orbs.
Where can I see Percivals Schlachts Damage cap? I'm currently sitting at 591k with 65/65 damage cap and fully awakened terminus withh glass cannon. not sure if 591k is really the highest though but my attack glows on the dummy
To calculate the base damage cap, you just run a setup that's guaranteed capping and then reverse calculate it. For simplicity, I prefer to switch weapons off Terminus and unequip all sigils, putting on only raw damage sigils.
Base damage cap = 54% from masteries + 20% from terminus = 74%
Over mastery is important to account for as well; let's say you have 20% normal attack cap
If you test a normal attack and cap at 19398, you can just divide it by your current cap (1.94) to get 9999, which is the natural cap!

Last question, does Normal Attack Damage Cap for OverMastery counts for all input from Heavy and Normal attacks, including Combo Finishers and charged attacks?
@@PineUpAllYep! Both the normal and heavy attacks count as "normal" attacks. In Io's case, that means Stargaze is also a normal attack!
