    I have been a PING player for years. When I bought the 425 Max it performed better than I expected. I have tried all of the latest releases and I just dont see any reason for change. There simply wasnt enough "more" to make the switch. I use a Diamana TB 50 S shaft in the 425 and without a doubt its the perfect marriage for me. I will say this though, the Callaway product substantially out performed the the Stealth for me. @ 95 mph driver swing speed it seemed as though the Taylormade wanted more ( that I didnt have !! ) The Callaway is exceedingly driver friendly. The other shock that I got recently was Mizuno's latest driver. It is exceptional !
    Thanks for this Andy ! Great review !!! I wish you much success with your new channel , im sure it will be a hit !!

    Great review! I think Peter Finch also said Rogue Max is the new king of forgiveness, overtaking G425 Max. Not because of the increased forgiveness, but the consistency and extra distance Rogue produces. Glad we got another review showing the similar experiences!

    Honestly, I don't need a new driver. I'm happy with my T2. Thought I did, but nope. My swing needed fixing. I worked on my takeaway to stop the slicing. When I started to use my body and rotate, I now am starting to hit draws with my irons and power fades with 3 wood and driver. Craziest thing ever. Anyways, congrats on the success and keep going sir!

    I use a G425 max. Love the sound and the turbulators. If I were looking at a new driver I would be looking at the Cobra LTD line. The Ping is long enough and straight enough for me till I wear it out. Good review for callaway fans and those looking for a new driver. I would rather see a driver review comparing to its same prior renditions like the epic and other older Callaway drivers.

    I like Brad was a Ping player for a very long time until I took Andy's advice and started to mix up my bag to maximize how I hit each club. So Ping ended out of my bag completely. I have the PXG 0811XF Gen 4 10.5 Driver, Callaway 5 wood B11, 3 & 4 Hybird, PXG-0311 XP-G3 6 through gap wedge, and finally the 54 & 58 Cleveland RXG wedges, all the shafts are Senior Graphite for me and I will not go into detail about the shafts I have, but this is by far the best equipment I have played in my 50 plus years of playing and I am 76 and really enjoying to play each time I hit the golf course. It's a personal choice we all make.

    I bought a set of ping g410 about 2 1/2 years ago right b4 the 425 was released. I'm extremely happy with them. Love the sound and feel. I bought the pings because they were not the longest clubs I tried, but because they were the most accurate. When it's time for a new set I'll do the same. Whatever clubs give me the most accuracy based on my swing. I have no loyalty to any brand.

    The G425 isn’t 2 years old …it was released Jan 2021. My own tests with these 2 clubs showed the opposite with dispersion and within 1 yard on carry distances. The 425 Max is noisy for sure, but still highly efficient and forgiving at a mix of ball speeds. I’m in my late 50s and average 155mph with driver…. With both clubs I averaged around 260 carry but with 10 yards narrower dispersion on the G425 Max. I hit 100 balls with each alternating every 10 shots to get a fair test result.

      Did you find much difference in distance? I’ve tried Cleveland, TaylorMade, Titliest, Callaway, and Ping over the years. Callaway just doesn’t fit my eye. I always go back to Ping. Currently game the Ping G400 Max when it came out. So long , so consistent.

  • @glennpacker8161
    @glennpacker8161 2 года назад +2

    The Callaway performed better FOR YOU, that’s the key point. In the past 18 months, I have done separate driver and iron fittings (tests done 12 months apart) and, in both cases, I tried the top 7/8 brands, with the outcome that the Ping products performed the best FOR ME … interestingly, swing speed was higher with both driver and irons, which resulted in greater distance, and accuracy was also better. The assessment by the golf pro (completely independent, not selling anything) was that I swung the Ping clubs with more confidence and speed, because I preferred the feel of the counter balanced shafts, which interestingly I also had in my previous XXIO irons. To indicate my skill level, I’m 61 years old and over the past 3 months have dropped to a 9 handicap.
    People, these reviews are fine, but pay for a fitting with an independent competent pro before spending your hard earned cash.

    Your point on impact location data is spot on. I have a GC3 which does not give me that information sadly, so I use impact tape so I can see where I am making contact. It does impact spin numbers, but not by a lot with a driver. I am planning to go in for a iron fitting soon and am going to bring some impact tape with me on the off chance they do not have a monitor that displays it. Solid review and I am already planning on looking at the Rogue and might check out the Ping as well, but just not a fan off the Ping sound.

  • @shane7150
    @shane7150 2 года назад +1

    This is why you must test multiple drivers during a fitting with an open mind. I just got fitted for my driver and ended up with the G425. It was between that and the titliest. The rogue was terrible for me. For both the Ping and Titlest I was carrying around 280 but that dropped to 265 with the Rogue with a few hitting that 280 mark but many, due to dispersion from off center hits, falling much shorter. I have had no issue hitting the G425 straight and even bombed it 298yds with roll left side of the fairway after catching it as close to the toe as you could go before missing the ball almost entirely. I just did not find that in the Rogue.
    My buddy also got fitted into a driver recently and he ended up with the titliest. He also swung the Rogue and ended up with shorter and larger dispersion shots. So to me, it really goes to show that while one club may work for me, another may work better for you. So always get fitted with an open mind as hitting straighter shots makes the game so much more fun!
    Great breakdown. I do agree, these clubs that are coming out these days are so damn forgiving and it just makes the game much more enjoyable for all.

    Thanks, Andy, for this video -- this is the exact comparison I've been eager to see. My issue with the G425 was that the forgiveness came in part through an overall heavier head. If you're like me and don't want to use a counterbalanced shaft, it wound up feeling heavy -- swingweight was always around D6-D8 with a shaft playing 45.5". If Callaway can match that level of forgiveness with a lighter head, that'd be basically the dream driver. I have a Rogue ST Max ordered and hope to do this head-to-head myself soon!

    I heard so much about the 425 driver that I couldn't wait to test it; I currently have the G400 max. (Totally based on the Rick Shields review.) As much as I really wanted a reason to buy the new driver I hit the G400 further and straighter quite consistently over the G425. I upgraded to the Ping Tour shaft when I bought the G400 and felt like I was "up sold" on the shaft not long after buying it, whereas the G425 had the std Alta shaft, however there was no denying the superior performance of the G400. Maybe the shaft is enough difference. Needless to say...no new driver for Daddy.

    It's the ultimate compliment to Ping that both Callaway & Mizuno have introduced their new 2022 Drivers as Ping 425 copies - but thank god, sound infinitely better. I also think Callaway's very slight built-in draw bias will work for 95% of customers. In my experience, setting a standard Callaway 9-degree head to 1-click open to 8-degrees, effectively makes it truly neutral in terms of flight - and it is how I set up my Callaway Max LS Driver. It could be a shaft issue for sure. Ping is a heavier head than most. They usually provide counterbalance shafts, so if you used one from the cobra it could make a difference. The weight of the head is meant to contribute to the stability, but it can slow some people down a bit.

Some balls will land soft, some kick forward, left and right. Obviously, more accurate results would be gleaned the more balls that were struck IMHO. Not to forget the human factor. Thanks.

    Great video! I'm a senior golfer looking for more distance plus I tend to push the ball. MYSPy did a test on draw drivers and the PING SFT came out on top with a 17 yard draw number. Taylormade, Callaway and Cobra weren't on the list. Do you feel the Rogue draw model has a draw bias that is strong enough to actually help me draw the ball? I have the same question about the Sim2 Max D driver. Thanks.

    While Taylor Made have been grabbing the headlines with the Stealth, most reviewers seem to have shown that the performance of the Rogue to be superior, the Ping while a superb driver needs to have some serious discounting to make it worthwhile financial wise. I'm looking forward to the Rogue Vs the Cobra comparisons which I haven't seen yet.
