My dad is 92. He has been doing some exercises. But he fell outside the house and was in hospital for about 2 months with a few other health complication were identified. It was a touch and go for him. He came home at the end of Nov 2021. He started his yoga gradually and now when I saw him yesterday, he was able to do a tree pose with both hands above his head. So his balance is good now. He goes for walks. Getting up from floor is little hard but he manages. This is a gradual process for him. He has a lot of vitality and also a lot of mental ability on work.
It's very helpful when the parents listen and want to change. My mom is five years older and I have been telling her since she was seventy five that she needs to move. She is now in a nursing facility and chooses to lay in bed all day and watch tv. They try daily to get her up and she refuses.
It's never too late to take good care of yourself, and you're never too old to try something new! She looks great, feels healthier, and her determination is awesome. My hat's off to this woman and her daughter!
I used to be a taxi driver, at that time i was bodybuilding(did not compete), at 5 foot 7 i weighed around 13 stone. A lady got in my car, she was in her 70s, and carried three really heavy bags, quite easily. When i tried to pick one out of the boot, i had to use both hands, she said here, let me, and lifted it easily with one hand. I said to her, i train four times a week, and you are stronger than me, she said, i belive i am.
You go Joan !! Last year, at the age of 63, I became a personal trainer. I work exclusively with people over the age of 50. I tell them that as long as they can still synthesize protein into muscle, then they can improve their strength, mobility and quality of life with well programmed exercise. Going to share this video with my clients.
OMG!!! I love this WOMAN! This 75-year-old woman is a real force of nature. I really admire her determination to change her lifestyle and make it healthier. This woman is a great example for everyone because she proves that at any age anyone can make their physical condition better and healthier (min 0:34), and even if at first it seems more difficult and frustrating, we should never give up because anyone can create a better version of themselves just by following a few small guidelines as Joan's daughter says (min 1:10). Joan MacDonald says this is possible with a balanced diet and a consistent fitness routine as she tells us (min 1:57). I hope to be like her at 75 years old with her strength and determination to constantly improve.
Keep strong. Dont forget that despite the struggles and madness in this world today, God is full of justice, mercy and love. Justice said we broke His perfect law - causing the world's previous perfection to be destroyed - and therefore we deserve Hell (like a punishment in any legal system but this is eternal as His perfect law is eternal too). Don't think you fit in that category? Ever done one of these?: lying, stealing - regardless of how small the object EVER, hating others - which is murder in God's perfect law, lusting (plus God sees our entire thought life). Justice says "the soul that sins shall die" - if we break one in thought/word/deed it's as if we're guilty of all of them. Quite simply, living by the law (which is doing everything perfectly) is impossible for sinful humans . The law shows us that 1. We will die in Hell if we fail to follow it and 2. We cannot save ourselves BUT, 3. God's perfect, immovable law points us to Christ, who followed and fulfilled the law in thought, word and deed perfectly in our place. He did what we couldn't and did it on our behalf. He was then sentenced to death on a cross, and took our personal punishment for our sin, paying our penalty (like paying our fine) completely FOR us, and has given us freedom. If we turn from the sins we have committed and repent (pursue the opposite direction of love through Christ) He will, overtime, recreate us back into that previously perfect image through The Holy Spirit which Jesus sends to all who accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior of their life. He will help us through the struggle, the stress, and anything we experience in the world. It's about letting Christ in to guide and teach you and obeying Him through His power (not ourselves, we need Him to help us as it's impossible without depending on His power and instruction). He is our substitute in His life, death and resurrection. He essentially rewrote history in our place so that, if you believe in Him, it will be as if you had never sinned if you accept Christ's death as our own in our place. He is in Heaven right now preparing a place for us so that He can take His faithful, believing children home with Him when He returns. He will ressurrect us from death when He returns, giving mercy to those who accept His love, instruction and teachings in their life, and give justice to those who refuse it. He doesn't want ANY of us to go to Hell and die for continuing in evil and rejecting His way to life, thats why He died FOR us. Hes giving EVERYONE a chance, He wants everyone to take the free gift of salvation from Hell. He wants us to be His and begin to follow His life of love and service through His power and abiding (staying) with Him. So long as we keep our hearts near to Christ through His strength, strive to follow His will of perfect love revealed in the Bible, and let Him lead in the midst of (very certain) pitfalls and struggles, we will, in time, win the ultimate victory over sin, pain and DEATH through Christ. Even if you are willing to be made willing, pray for Jesus to come in and He will do what we can't. Give us The Holy Spirit who will guide us in the right way. Christ says in John 16:33: I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.] - (AMPLIFIED version) NOTE: You are NEVER too sinful or messed up that God cannot turn your life around through Jesus. EVER. Regardless of what you've done or what you're going through you CAN make it through Jesus. X

This lady is amazing. I know so many people who will not exercise. I don't do a lot of weight lifting, but at 69 I have been running for 54 years. I wouldn't quit for anything. On those days I don't want to run, I remember how good it makes me feel later. I don't want to lose the conditioning that I have, because I want to be healthy for a long time. It's NEVER TOO LATE! What an amazing inspiration. There are two types of people n this world...."those who exist"....and those who "LIVE"...…..This woman is LIVING!!!!
5 years ago I was on 7 different meds and felt miserable. In pain just about everywhere in my body. Now I’m off all the meds, 30 pounds lighter and I feel 20 years younger than I am. My calendar age says 57 but I don’t feel it or look it. And I love stories like this. It keeps me motivated !!!
You are truly an inspiration to any woman and proof that fitness, strength and beauty is possible for women at any age 💙 keep it up..you are beautiful! I love this video, please make more!
This lady is an inspiration! My dad thinks these trt grampas & gramas dont exist. It infuriates me when old people decide "its all down hill from here". I wish every aging person could see this!
Wow! Both women are so inspiring ! Michelle for encouraging her mom to change her life and Joan for doing the work to show us what is possible if we are willing to make the changes and do the work! Thank you both!!

5 years ago I was on 7 different meds and felt miserable. In pain just about everywhere in my body. Now I’m off all the meds, 30 pounds lighter and I feel 20 years younger than I am.
My calendar age says 57 but I don’t feel it or look it. And I love stories like this. It keeps me motivated !!!
you are awesome
What did you do?
