My 1989 Foxbody Mustang was having problem after problem with the EFI system. Easiest Solution… Carb. Quick video of the things you will need and a couple tricks.
You can use a ford factory hei distributor and the pcm will work just get the ford hei distributor for a carbbed mustang year like a 86 5.0 . 49.99 at napa. 😊 Holley 650 will be much better for power than edlebrock avs. The edlebrock takes metering rod springs and jet tuning to get good power.
I think you can run all the sensors to the brown plug by the wiper motor and your cluster gauges should work after you disconnect the engine harness and computer . That's what I found out but haven't swapped mine yet to know. There are couple videos on here that show you how.
The oil and temp gauge will work, you gotta tap into the white plug near the fire Wall.

Nice setup. What size filter you have on the carb? Does it fit under stock hood or you have a cowl hood? I couldn't tell
Were you able to have your factory gauges work.
In the video you didnt show how you disconnected everything and what is reusable.
I didn’t use any of my factory gauges but I think you can spin the plug that they run into to use them.
