The main part I cried in was both when he thinks his dog has been put down near the start and then when he found out right near the end that Burrich never killed his dog and that he was still alive and happy.
I love Devil in the White City so much it inspired some of my research for my graduate degree....and I LOVED watching you react to it! This was such a fun video to watch, and I may finally have to pick up some Robin Hobb now

I definitely agree about Devil in the White City. I enjoyed reading about HH Holmes but it was baaaaarely part of the book and I don’t understand why people love it so much??

With The Mystery of Blackhollow Lane I gave it the same and I read a ton of middle grade. It was too football focussed but I did like the mystery society aspect. The second book I listened to the audiobook and the payoff is worth it. If book 1 had more info in it like book 2 I would have rated it higher, so if the first was longer etc which I definitely felt it needed deffo a 4. The second book though was much much better
I think Katie Colson would also get a good score. I feel like she likes the same kind of weird books that you do 😊
Omg same about having no idea what the characters look like. I'm reading Project Hail Mary and even though I'm 380 pages in, I could not tell you a single physical characteristic about the main character other than he's a guy. I also don't seem to care about what characters look like, oops 😅
Honestly I'm convinced that a lot of the people who say they love The Devil in the White City are liars 😂 I read it in October and also gave it two stars. It was beyond boring and way too long. 🐕🐩

I’m so glad you liked it. Also I didn’t cry but you’ve only seen the tip of the pain iceberg for Fitz 😂 I’m 10/16 books into the series and it took until book 9 for me to shed a tear
I felt the same way about AA. It was really good but I didn't feel that emotionally attached to anyone in it.
I felt the exact same towards everyone saying Assassins Apprentice made them cry, like why?? I also cry at everything, including advertisements, but this was just not sad?

I enjoyed the sequel to The Mystery of Black Hollow Lane more than the first book. It doesn’t read quite as young.
