What’s more impressive than his kill count by itself is the fact he avoided killing *anyone* besides his targets right up until he accidentally hit Komugi with an energy wyvern.

John Asante considering Nanika’s existence in symbiosis to Alluka, it’s a near guaranteed that at least one Zoldyck has traveled to the dark continent (which is where Nanika hails from). Therefore it is highly likely that Zeno has traveled to the dark continent

As far as transmutters go Id like to see Zeno vs Hisoka, but not as a hit/assassination. I want a 1v1 all out fight without either side having the element of surprise. I realize it will never happen, but there is hope for future Killua vs Hisoka, which is probably the next best thing!

I'd say the white haired ones and Alluka are the only ones with slightly normal feelings and that includes Silva. The rest of them are straight up messed up including the boy that hangs out with Killua's mom.
Silva seems pretty ok, I mean for a guy that is the leader of a family of hitmen he seems to be the most well-adjusted member of that family alongside Zeno (his wife and Illumi are pretty insane though); his relation with Killua was as good as one could imagine considering the circumstances and in regards to Alluka his stance is the same one shared by the rest of the family except for Killua.

I think you just don't understand how transmutation works. It's adding whichever qualities you want to your aura. The most famous example of this is Hisoka's bubgee gum, which i' sure you've heard has the properties of both rubber and gum, meaning it can be strechy and sticky.
However, somebody else may create a nen transmutation technique with the properties of rubber and gum that takes different aspects from these substances, like for example, having it be resistant to electricity to rubber or sweet / sour tasting like gum. It's about choosing which attributes you wish to take from sth and I don't even think you need an item. You can theoretically add any qualities that exist in nature and go crazy with it, like say creating a substance that is hard and fragmented like ice, but hot like fire or anything else.

Not just Zeno but Gon Freeccs and Heavens-Arena-Transmuter have shown us that Transmutation is the 'Make Decisions about your Aura'-Type,
which includes the things you mentioned and the ones i mentioned all the same.
Shape, Form, Density, we know for a fact that New World Review just forgot to mention this belonging to Transmutation. Not Togashi, just this RUclipsr forgot to mention it.
Zeno doesn't have all that much screentime but he's more developed than most anime main characters lol
Id say hunter x hunter isnt the best anime, personally my favourite, but its definitely 100% more interesting than any other anime

I really hope that somewhere down the line of hiatuses we see what characters like Zeno and Silva are truly capable off.
I hope that Zeno and Silva, or preferably Kikyo and Zeno's wife, appear in the Succession War Arc hired by Pariston. Sounds crazy but I really want Pariston to have an insane role, and learn about his overall strength.

I think when most people imagine a family of master assassins they imagine people who are, well, subtle. Not an old guy riding a dragon made from his own will power, a hulking giant that knows the spirit bomb technique, a fat dork with exploding mosquitoes, a neurotic cyborg mom, or a small child who can eat ten million dollars worth of candy in a few weeks.

Zeno dosent break the 4th wall. Later on you see a scene were its clear that he is talking to silva who sits in front of him.
It only appears that way for the viewer at first (which I really liked).
Zeno has by far my favorite nen ability. It may not be the most powerful, but in my opinion it is definitely the coolest.
Zeno is humble, he underestimates his abilites if anything, which is very true to the zoldyck way of thinking.

He only got 1 person. Dragon Dive is clearly designed to sow chaos in enemy encampments but is otherwise easy for nen users to avoid.

In spite of his profession I don't know if there is any other character in the series that I have as much respect for. He's such a well designed character because he doesn't demand respect but makes you want to give it to him and Togashi uses that to make his words and actions have a much greater impact
Zeno is super badass, I wish the Zoldycks had more screen time. Anyway, is the white stripes on black pants a Zoldyck thing? Cuz Killua wore something with same design, black shirt with a weird white bag on Heavens Arena arc lol.

Togashi is truly a master in creating deep, compelling and nuanced characters..
It was so telling of their characters when Zeno showed remorse at the possibility of killing an innocent bystander, when in the next arc Illumi had no qualms killing dozens of them in order get what he wanted
I believe one of the things they consider for future leaders of the Zoldyck business is the presence of humanity within the person. Someone like illumi leading the zoldyck business wouldn't work because he has no understanding of human emotions at all and that could be a huge potential flaw
Sum up Zeno's philosophy in two lines:
"I ain't never put my gun on no citizen."
"A man has got to have a code."

That's because Silva fought Chrollo before so he knows more about Skill Hunter. Nevertheless both Zeno and Silva know enough about Chrollo to know he's equal to them.
@Slender Man Chrollo made it extremely clear that he only collected those abilities to take down Hisoka in a special, more flashy way.
Star Platinum chrollo basically ran away from hisoka from two arcs and had to do Batam level prep 9000 iq to even win even nobonaga says that chrollo respects hisokas abilities and states that bungee gums difficult to counter and even thinks the boss is scared of hisoka chrollo wasn’t even fighting hisoka in their fight he was basically keeping his distance and using the crowd to his advantage and never approached hisoka in close quarters combat and when they do it favors hisoka as slightly more superior in strength

Dragon dive is such a Hype hability...but it's kinda weird that Zena developed it if he's so against collateral damage..
If I had to guess I would assume that he increased the radius because like that would be terrifying if it's aoe was only about 10 m with the similar amount of projections condensed into a small area more than likely also speed up looking at how horrible and ineffective that ability was I can only assume he used to variant that he wouldn't normally
Sorry for late reply. I think there are two options for the dragon dive we saw in chimera arc.
1. This was probably the biggest dragon dive he used and he knew that most people there were innocents or allies who were already willing to sacrifice themselves
2. He most likely only uses it when he’s certain there will be no collateral damage, one example is using it on an enemy camp

The way Zeno looked at Corolla right before he was about to get taken out with him for the sake of a job, ‘that face he made right at that moment was a face of pure happiness that he was in combat and enjoyed doing what he was doing, not just for a pay beck IMO.
I'm making a manga with the protagonist having a n attack similar to zenos dragon head but the main difference is that it is smaller and is a projectile attack that works like throwing a kite at someone. I named this attack dragon kite and a smaller version of this is dragon shot with the dragon kite attack being shrunk to the size of a finger and dragon palm which is exactly what it sounds and is the attack that the main character uses the most and the biggest version of these attacks is dragon comet which is like the hadouken and kamehameha with a dragon instead of pure energy. There's also the fact that the dragon is much more detailed than zenos. It's also similar to the rasengan in terms of it being malleable to be applied with the elements. It is sort of a mix of things we've seen before but expressed differantly.

It's worth a mention, Zeno "being willing to sacrifice himself", isn't canon. At least in the manga, the translation of that scene you referenced featured Zeno saying, "make sure you don't kill me", vs the anime's translation, "kill me too".

Since HxH 1999, I'm really a fan of the Zoldyck Family because they're really a badass family - especially the ones with silver hair (Zeno, Silva, & Killua). If only I can cross-over in the anime world, I'd love to be a part of the Zoldyck Family (I don't care if get adopted or if I marry one of the Zoldyck children 😂). For me, it'd be such a great honor to be part of the notorious elite family of assassins! 😉
BTW, my favorite transmuter ability is the godspeed ability of Killua. 💕
most of hunter x hunter fans misread the fight between chrollo and the zoldycks, chrollo got his fortune written to him by neon few minutes before his encounter with the zoldycks, neon's fortunes tells you what's going to happen for the next few weeks depending the number of the verses there are in your fortune, with every phrase representing a week, so fate played a big role, if you still don't get it, his fight with the zoldycks weren't mentioned in his fortune meaning it wasn't going to pose a threat to his life due to fate, that is why he was fighting to steal and not fighting to kill, he was more than sure he wasn't gonna die but even so he still hired illumi to kill the 10 dons just in case the hire more assassins or keep tracking him and his troupe, so no he's not stronger than any of the zoldycks just because he was trying to steal and not kill.
I’ve been following HxH for over 10 years now since I was in 6th grade. I’ve went over the nen system countless times. Rewatched the 2011 series several times. Read the manga twice. Etc etc.
Zeno’s nen category being Transmuter has always confused me. Always. I can understand he’s a transmuter simply because he clearly isn’t any of the other categories. However, his “dragon” techniques being transmuter always baffled me. It’s just so different then the transmuter abilities we initially saw. The explanation in this video was the first time I could kinda get a grasp on it. His nen picks up the characteristics of a dragon, so essentially the destructive power & flight capabilities. That’s why I’ll go with from now on.

I think there's a possibility that zeno is an emitter his nen abiliy is using manipulation and transmutation. The two is much closer to emission.

I know Zeno is a transmuter and all, but his abilities are much more akin to emission to me. He emits aura and uses manipulation to give it the form of a dragon and control it's movements.
It's not like his dragon aura imitates a real dragon because what would that even look like? what are even the properties of a dragon in HxH in the first place?
On the other hand, when he used his dragon attacks against the ants or Chrollo, it was just like if they were attacked by a concentrated aura attack, no especial properties attached, similar to Razor's ball shaped, concentrated aura.
His attacks don't look like pure aura at all, they all take the shape of a dragon; that's something which can't be done without Transmutation or Manipulation, but why would he use his weakest category for that task instead of his natural category? Plus if it was Manipulation then his dragon would look more like an actual dragon, just like all the other Nen Beasts, but his dragon looks like pure aura shaped like a dragon. His aura does imitate the properties of a dragon, whether that relates only to the shape of the aura or also to its physical properties is unknown, but yeah, imitating the properties of a HxH dragon is nothing different to imitating the properties of any other animal

As much as I love HxH, I hope you haven't forgotten about Dangan Ronpa 101. I understand that it's hard to follow a character like Aoi Asahina.. I mean, she's just so well rounded (like a doughnut), but you must persevere! Do not despair!

He could make the story and team-up with an artist with a similar style, that could prevent at least part of the problems that have plagued him for years; something like that could be done for a spin-off.

One of my few fave character in HxH.
This is an obvious statement but it truly does surprise me every time I come back to HxH how it actually uses a plot and follows it way more than most if not all Shonen. Like the fact thay Zeno just does his job and sticks to his own character traits is amazing and cheeta being killed in 1 hit instead of having a fight is also fantastic that hey the story takes precedence.
Zeno is more badass than anyone else. Of the abilities we've seen hes only used abilities that would require intense basic principle training and crazy image training. Yet those abilities alone are enough to make extremely powerful. Imagine if he put restrictions on any of those abilities? He'd be on neteros level easily

The white haired Zoldyck’s can separate their profession from themselves and still have some sort of feelings that aren’t suffocating like the black haired ones (except for Alluka in my op). Silva, Zeno, and Killua are sane

i don't recall zeno ever stating or feeling that he couldn't ever stand up to meruem. meruem walked between both zeno and netero, but netero was still able to stand up to meruem. so saying that zeno can't, just because meruem walked past him doesn't add up, when the same thing happened to netero.
Netero is far more powerful than Zeno...

i loved that scene in the anime when those assassins named their own codenames (all colours) and silva said "silva" nothing much unusual they though he meant the colour and then zeno just stated his own name... blew their mind
The more i think about Chrolllo vs Zoldyck, the less it makes Sense. If Zeno and Chrollo and also Chrollo and Hisoka are the same Level, then why is Hisoka not after Zeno? And maybe even weirder:
The more i think about Zenos Analysis of Chrollos Nen, the more i get confused. At first, identiyingthe fact that a Stealing-Ability needs 4-5 Restrictions sounds reasonable UNTIL you realize thats not how Restrictions work: Theyre not about Numbers, theyre about Strength. A single heavy Vow may outmatch the Strength given by a dozen small Resitrctions. And you dont need Restrictions at all: Zeno Himself has apparently, like Knov, only Skill used to perform his Hatsu, but apparently the magical Number 4-5 make sense here???
