  • If you're looking for a scenic view and a quick getaway from Los Angeles the Angeles Crest Highway is just an hour away from the busy city. The highway travels from La Cañada Flintridge through the Angeles Forest and out past Wrightwood.

    The 66 miles Angeles Crest Highway is by far one of the best road to drive on for its exceptional scenic view. The 11 miles Tail of the Dragon highway in Tennessee can't even compare to the Angeles Crest. I'm so grateful to be a resident of California.

    Great views and awesome pull outs to take in nature! Be a confident defensive driver who is okay with twists and turns, know how to be in a lower gear when descending, and look out for other drivers and you will be fine. Pack water, snacks, and lunch and make it a day outing. Fill up with a full tank before you start your trip!! Lack of gas stations up there.

    Always stay between the mustard and the mayonnaise, and pull over in the designated pull-over areas to let faster vehicles by, thank you!!!

    yes its filled with thrills and beautiful views but its very dangerous when learning about this accident history of this highway....i was just on this road earlier i feel lucky to make it out alive

    Its the most dangerous stretch of highway with sharp curves and steep inclines. If you are not expierenced avoid it. And if you do drive on it move over for faster cars. Focus on the drive not the view.. danger awaits.

    This is such a great drive/ride. It's also a very dangerous highway. Any given weekend you will find "race cars" and "race bikes" being stupid. I was riding my motorcycle behind a guy that went straight into a guard rail. Lost his leg and had to get a helicopter ride down because ambulances can't get there fast enough. Unfortunately Newcomb's Ranch is closed permanently. It was also historical. Be safe out there.

    I was driving this dangerous ass highway today, I was very unfamiliar with it and didn’t know it had turn off points, so I was going the speed limit which is 25 to 30mph most of the highway. Everyone drives at speeds atleast 45 to 55mph with sharp curves and turns. Had a man jump out of his truck and flip me off and yelled at me for going the speed limit??? .. avoid that highway at all cost. Also had my 1 year old son, 5 year old nephew and 67 year old mom with me in the car. I’m not putting my family in danger because of reckless drivers ⚠️

    In addition to fires prepare for unbelievable amount of vehicle accidents. Some of the mountain side looks like it's being shredded for housing. Don't be surprised to hear of homeless encampments either.🤷‍♀

    Yes, go joy riding with $6/gallon gas, on a road built by prisoners. If you want to get killed by a wreck less driver in a high end car, can’t recommend enough.

    • @CaptVII
      @CaptVII 2 года назад +2

      Yep, this is baffling. Record high gas prices, lets all go waste gas driving a scenic route out to the Cajon pass, where we can then sit in traffic for 2 hours coming back to LA!

    This is a very dangerous road because of the stupid stunt drivers/riders that use it as a cheap race track. If you decide to go don’t be surprised to see an accident or even be involved in one. The sad part is that it’s not because you’re a bad drivers but because of other bad/stupid drivers or bike riders.
