It's nice to see long term reviews. Thank you.
I like this Arc'teryx, looking for a running shell. The under arm zips are essential for long distance running. Leaning toward this jacket based on your review. Thanks for posting.
Just got the Zeta AR from the Arc'teryx outlet site, in my favourite colour, for $420. Your review convinced me to go ahead with the purchase - thank you!
Really happy for you, that is a great price point!
Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Same here, just bought it from Arcteryx outlet.
Thanks for the review.
Same here. Just bought it for $475 from the Outlet here in Europe. Thanks for the review!
I bought a Zeta Sl since I had used the pants this past winter over proton pants when it rained or snowed. But saw how much hate people had for paclite so I was thinking of upgrading to the Zeta AR via the outlet at $400 which $175 more then I spent on the Zeta SL jacket. Idk if I should since it seems like this jackets still high maintenance and still not as durable it breathable as the Beta FL/AR.
Just got mine for $290!
Great review, just bought a same color zeta ar on arc’ s canadian outlet website. 450C$ as same as a beta LT. Difficult choice for me, but finally got this one. Excited to have it soon and hike in the cold Ontario fall.
Would you know the sleeve length on the men’s medium? Looking at an aftermarket model
Great detailed review, made my choice for this one. Thanks
It’s an amazing piece of gear… you will not regret it 🤙
I am glad that i did my research and went for the Zeta AR as I only need it for walking / trekking / hiking / everyday. Also I don’t like the storm hood. I can also use the Zeta with a helmet in case i am cycling.
This was great. Very useful. Thanks!
Zeta AR no longer sold by Arc'teryx?
Discontinued and I think they push the beta LT’s to fill that role. Don’t quote me
I am 5.11 , 175LB. Got size M and can wear it with 3-4 layer easily including down jacket. XL should look like and feel like walking tent. Should buy Beta instead due to helmet hood but what done is done. $290 from outlet on sell. Maybe I'll get beta next year
I just picked up 2 Nike Gore Tex jacket and one Jordan. I plan to pick up a 4th Gore Tex may be one more Nike then I'll get a Arc'teryx and a Northface future light
What size jacket is this and how tall are you?
Sorry for the late reply, I’m 5’11” , 190lbs. this is the XL to allow room for layers.
Hi, great review. How would you compare this to the Beta AR?
Two different jackets.
The beta has a storm hood that will allow you to wear a helmet. This opens a lot of activity like biking, climbing, scrambling etc, that the zeta is not designed for. The beta AR also has goretex pro which I believe to be more resilient and less maintenance.
I think the Zeta is more focused on hiking although the Beta would definitely work too.
Is that the paradox color ?
Its on sale for 166€ is it worth it
Hell yes
Would you recommend this jacket for skiing?
For skiing, you should go for the Beta SV or AR which also has a helmet compatible storm hood
Would you also recommend it as an everyday jacket?
Absolutely!!!
This is my hiking and every day jacket. 4seasons. In winter I layer for snowshoeing and hiking and in town I wear my puffy under👍👍
@@TomyHovingtonHiking What size your’re wear it (M/L)?
I have a few items in Large ( Cerium, Remige hoodie, t shirts and covert sweater) but my Zeta is XL to allow room for layering.
Do you think this is good for running in the rain?
For running I would recommend something a little lighter as a base layer while wearing this shell.
Just hiking with it on it gets a little warm.
Pit zips are helpful to regulate temperature and I’m assuming more air flow would happen while running through the zips.
hi, did you ever had any troubles with the zippers because they are not waterproof? i saw at the arcteryx website that they are just watertight so some water could still come in
thanks
Yes in high wind situation and when it’s a big downpour, the baffle in those occasions did let water leak to my mid layer.

Hey Nathan 🤙
Hope you’re doing well..
I want people to look at how many affiliate links this guy has in his description and ask yourself if you can really trust someone like this. These guys make videos for money. They don't actually care whether something is ACTUALLY good or not. They're dirtbags.
I took the time to add all my gear information so everything is there for everyone to see without asking. I do provide links for people interested in them.
Nothing more.
If I ever get a kick back from it well I will definitely be thankful...
@@TomyHovingtonHiking Thanks for what you do Tony! I hope you eventually make a pile of money...This kid is an idiot
I am not able to place your accent.
