There's not really a censored version, every Time Crisis game has the option to change the hit effect to green. But I don't get how changing it to green will make it less violent
@@FIGHTERSCHOICEArcade The option is called "Hit Color" in Game Options It should be there in Time Crisis 1, 3 and 4. It's even in Time Crisis 5. Time Crisis 2 and Crisis Zone are weird because you need to mess around with the dip switches
Nope, I tried. No options are present on my actual arcade hardware. Something of interest though, the American version of time crisis 3 gives you an option to turn of the parent advisory warning and let’s you set it to a single player cabinet, meaning that the “CO-OP PLAY IS AVAILABLE” scrolling text can be turned off. Time Crisis 2 and 4 won’t let you shut off this feature.
@@KimSamaVideos I have had some time to go through the test menus to my games and you’re right, Time Crisis 1-4 do have an option to change the color of the gun hit. Crisis Zone doesn’t have that feature. Interestingly enough, on Time Crisis 4, you can turn off the attract mode “movie”.
You found ANOTHER CAMERA?! I got a Crisis Zone PCB and slid it into my TC2 cabinet and it booted right up im wondering if it will work with just a monitor but my gun isnt fixed yet as its a suzo hap and I dont have a gun harness wire.
Crisis zone uses a different i/O board and gun system than Time Crisis 2. Time Crisis 2 only works with optical guns and a crt monitor. Crisis Zone uses a CCD camera and a IR LED pcb inside the gun. I am making the specific guns for crisis zone ( custom handgun or custom sub machine gun models) but you need the one of the compatible CORRECT I/O boards (Namco Rays PCB or Namco V221 MIU pcb) again, time crisis 2 is NOT compatible with this gun system. It will boot but it will not do anything. Same thing will crisis zone. It will boot with the time crisis 2 I/O board but it will not do anything. OpenJVS might fix that issue soon, I just need some time to extract some information from the I/O boards and hopefully this information will work with any arcade gun game using real hardware.
@@FIGHTERSCHOICEArcade I figured this and I found your posts on arcade-projects with your CCD project hoping to follow and contribute to your work I am just amazed you found another camera for crisis zone! @@mofopanda I’m still looking for some cheap affordable CCD camera to use. Namco used Sony branded black and white composite video cameras. That is pretty interesting! Thank you for sharing! I have been looking though other Crisis Zone arcade videos and I haven’t seen a lot like this version. Now, I do have a weird arcade version of Time Crisis 3 “Theater Version” dongle that has no arcade intro at all. I haven’t played it that much and I will make a video on that version of Time Crisis 3. Once again, thank you very much for your comment! :)
@@FIGHTERSCHOICEArcade Oh yeah, I forgot that the Spanish version of Time Crisis 4 doesnt have the intro and tutorial for new players, only the "Time Crisis 4 logo" and some demos of gameplay. Pretty weird.
@@dantestriker7020 which part of time crisis 3 is censored in Spain? The explosions? The dialogues? The fact that Giorgio Zott sounds like a Spanish invader into Lukano (pretty much fictional Greece Mykonos), or the violence in general? I doubt people in Spain liked the villain because he sounded like a stereotypical "Spanish" villain with all the archetypes like the goatee mustache, sword, accent and his outfit too.
Nope, that’s not true for the USA or Japanese versions of the game. I’m not sure about the European versions though. Edit: TC4 does have an option to skip the intro, I haven’t noticed it as I haven’t messed with the menus a lot.
Censored lol I mean green sparks rather than orange sparks mean censorship for Europe? Although orange sparks do seem more "realistic". Isn't that the sorta like replacing the blood in the PC version of house of the dead from red to green? I mean crisis zone is really PG 13 or rated Teen if we're being honest. Games like Carnevil and the arcade versions house of the dead; would be considered censored if you remove the blood and gore in them.
It’s a really interesting find. The earlier versions were all the same in terms of the original orange colors regardless of region. I’m thinking that this version was released because of the events that have happened in the US (you know what I mean). Also, censorship of many gun games during this time. The test menu to ALL of the crisis zone boards also don’t have an option to change the gun shot colors. Actually, NONE of the crisis games have an option to change the gun shot colors.
@@FIGHTERSCHOICEArcade true. As a Canadian I am not aware of the which incident you are referring to but I can completely understand why it had to be censored because of the said incident.
I was referring to the gun violence in America, specifically the Columbine high school shooting in April of 1999. I know that one of the Gun-con 2 games that was released in Japan (Gunvari + Time Crisis 1) for the PlayStation 2 was supposed to be released worldwide and North America but wasn’t because of the fear of violence and gun violence and video games being blamed.
@@FIGHTERSCHOICEArcade I see. I honestly also have no clue, it might be possible but the chips are soldered to a ROM board that’s usually detachable, you could probably just find the ROM board from a donor pcb and just simply swap it? Not sure if the motherboard has additional chips to determine the region or other system checks.
