    Bend down those tabs on the frame and its a lot easier wrenching those bolts off. Just remember to bend them back

    Little patience my butt! Vehicles are a nightmare to work on these days, especially with the INCOMPETENT so called engineers that design them. Being 65 years of age I can remember when you could change the oil in an engine in the time it now takes you to get to the engine!

    To get those bolts without a hassle get a 1/4 swivel then a 8x 1/4 extension with the 10 mil you are able to get to all of them with no problem

    Nathan thanks for your videos, I have a quick question? I have a 2008 Mercury Sable the engine stalls when putting it into Gear (Reverse or drive). I put it on jack stands and it stalls when pressing the brake. Do you know what could be the cause of that? I have been told it is the torque converter and or solenoid.

    Mine is doing the same but for 3rd gear. Shifts hard going into 3rd. Looks like the previous owner changed the other opposite solenoid from the papers iv seen. My car is doing the same lifter tick sound on start up (that you explained) and it goes away after warm up also. Idk if that’s exhaust ping or a exhaust rattle, lifter tick but i feel like it only happens when I have low oil (have a oil leak). Idk what it is tbh. The sound was bad after a 4 hour trip, then next morning I started it up and didn’t hear it. Weird but I still hear it sometimes

      I have a 2007. The hard 3-4 shift was the servo that is under the valve body. The trans case gets worn from the servo and it needs to be bored and bushing installed. I was able to borrow the $700 kit and do it in the car. Bushing was $30. There is a great RUclips video on how to do this. Believe it’s Tylers Garage. Silver Fusion

    What Fluid Did you put back in the transmission? You have an FNR5 (5 Speed Mazda) transmission correct?
    Because I'm having a horrible time finding the Mazda M5 Transmission Fluid that it calls for.
    And I'm not exactly sure what to use, the Mazda dealership said to use Mercon V but that is not correct, they have different oil properties.
    What did you use?

    Any clue on how to get to the shift solenoids on the 3.0L V6 version with the AF21 Trans? The housing is on the front and there is no pan to drop. Trying to replace solenoid B myself without dropping the transmission out.

    Hello, Great video describing how to do this. Question, maybe you can help. I have a 2009 ford fusion se 2.3L. Check engine light and the wrench light came on in the dash. The car was shifting hard off and on. I was planning on flushing out the trans and swapping out the filter and gasket. Would you suggest swapping out any of the solenoids as well. The error code that I received when scanned was PO772, but this has very vague descriptions and says it could be solenoids that need replaced or a trans flush or something serious. How many solenoids are there total for my car? and which ones would you suggest to replace if any? (appreciate any and all info anyone might have) thanks

    • @braydinjones6301
      @braydinjones6301 3 года назад

      Definitely don’t even consider replacing the whole unit unless there is metal inside the pan or the fluid shows evidence of excessive clutch material. What you need to do first (before even pulling the pan) is get a wiring diagram for the transmission harness that connects to the valve body. If there any shorts in that harness I believe that will set the code. Once you get a diagram, identify which wires are for the B solenoid, and check to see if the resistance for that is out of spec or not. I believe that is what sets the code in the first place. If you end up finding that the resistance is out of spec, that means either the solenoid is bad or clogged, or the wiring harness is damaged. If all of those specs check out, then you probably have a bad TCM or ECM.

    To be clear, when you swapped the solenoids, the problem stayed at the B spot? So that would mean theres a different problem than a bad solenoid, right? Any idea what it could be? I also have a code for shift solenoid b that persisted through replacing the solenoid on an f5nr 08 mercury milan. Would love any insights you have found out
