Let me tell you something you don’t know. There is a lot of pr*stituti*n that goes on in the modeling industry. Yacht parties anyone. The modeling agencies and older supermodels p*mp out young girls to billionaires. It’s a lot going on many don’t know about. Let’s not delve into beauty pageants.

I'm former apparel industry import negotiator, fashion show directors' aid in Tokyo. I've helped industry investors to stage designers. Models from all over the world. It's one of the toughest industries to navigate through.
Naomi is an exceptional hard working and gifted supermodel. 99% effort + 1% gifted. All the top supermodels, makeup, hair, scheduling, fitting, sound, stage designer, photographer, travel agent that worked closely with her will be able to attest to that. She is tough on herself.
Clarification: Paparazzis are not journalists. They are privacy invading scavangers that ruin families. No one respects paparazzis. No one. If inappropriate photos of Queen Elizabeth never got printed anywhere in the world, there is such a thing called ethical media. The Queen yawns, coughs, puts food in the mouth, drink wine, and surely has moments of upset. But you NEVER SEE those photos printed anywhere in the world. Paparazzis are not journalists. Anyone with a camera and a drone can be a paparazzi and write any amount of fabrication.
Just 2 years of supermodeling will tear you up in the inside and outside because it's such a tough industry. You are alone in premium hotels all the time. Loneliness can kill. You can't cook for yourself. You are half a world away from your mother, children, dogs, garden, life coach, therapist, and personal trainer. Paparazzi everywhere you go. International flights with huge time difference. You can't sleep. The media fabricating about you all over the internet. She's been in the industry for decades.
You can't fire Naomi. She is one of the best of the best. In every way you look at her.
If I was a model agency owner, I would hire her as consultant. If I was a model, I would pay her to be mentored under her. If I was a designer, I would regularly spend time with her and travel with her. If I was a magazine contracted journalist or curatrix, I would pay attention to her.
Darker pigments on a body extentuate the curves of a body. I believe body builders prefer to display in tanned colors for that reason. It is visually so much more body language appealing than the extreme other end. Especially on a runway or in public.
The world market is mostly people of color. If you design your clothes, shoes, hats, bags to suit darker pigments as well, the entire world is your oyster. The majority of consumers in the world do not have pale white skin. They have darker colored hair too. The most beautiful hair in the world are black shiny hair. Designing your brand to please the majority of the world becomes easier when you create to compliment Naomi.
One of the largest brand comsumers are found in Japan. It is almost impossible to smuggle in fake brands because port customs will throw away the entire container. High school students in Tokyo own 2 or 3 authetic brand items. Remember, Naomi is also a popular Japanese name.
Naomi is iconic. Yes, no one could ever be Naomi nor replace her. There's been attempts. Not successful.

Naomi is an unfortegatble part of the original supermodels. As a girl born in the mid 80's, I saw them as perfection, especially her because she walked like a cat. But, these days her questionable reputation and what goes on in her orphanages should be investigated, because it is anything but normal.

Growing up, the first time I heard of Naomi was that she was this beautiful black supermodel who was linked to former Liberian warlord, Charles Taylor who allegedly gave her some diamonds. Even as a child I also understood how badly runway models were treated. (If you're concerned why I knew all these, I started reading newspapers too early and grew up in West Africa iykyk).

I love Naomi. She is such a fighter and survivor. I think her life is a reflection of the industry throughout the years and how a model reacts to that especially a black model. It’s very mirror like and in some ways she had to be that to survive and thank God like the industry she continues to evolve and is a catalyst in that evolution especially for black models now more than ever to have rep. on the runway.
About her behaviors and tantrums, she was never really allowed to grow up naturally. And that messes up her mental development. Im not saying she's stupid, but the maturity development may have been a bit lost on her. Everyone has praised and cater to her maybe every need since a young age. And she learned how to play the game and people, that she could get away with it, nobody confronted her on it since she was who she was, all the "work people" needed her after all. And she knew all this.
But regardless she's a absolutely beautiful woman, that walk and that body, omg, absolutely ONE OF A KIND 💥

I was sent your video by a friend. Who knows how much Naomi Campbell has meant to me, a dark skinned black boy from the backwoods of Mississippi..to see this woman whose skin looked like mine & smile resembled mine on the cover of the Sept-Issue of American Vogue in 89'...no one in this effin world will ever understand what that moment did to me.
I didn't watch this initially because I so dislike when people piece together these types of videos using references of disgusting journalists like Michael Gross, the horrible manner in which Hard Copy use to talk about models during their show in the 90s(IYKYK..Hard Copy was so sexist toward these women some who were teen-girl at the time) & the penchant people have for believing an individual experience of one EGOTISTiCAL model can be a true testament of who another model is.
So today I finally watched this.
And as the quintessential model historian that I am for the past 3 decades, let me clear up the bullshi^ in this video:
1. Naomi like anyone else in fashion is NOT perfect, nor has she said she was, what she has said is that she is an ever growing work in progress;
2. I don't like weaponizing someone's addiction or pain or grief to make them out to be a burnt out of a model. And Naomi never showed up on a photo shoot were she could not stand; and never walked out of a runway show in the middle because she was being a diva over the outfit....2 lies the press told in the 90s when Naomi wouldn't give in to their pestering of her;
3. You said you can believe Naomi said that statement to Tyra based on Tyra being the authority on telling the truth or that small clip from The Face Australia, were Naomi put Nicole Trunfio in her place?!?! You didn't even share the full 8min clip. Nicole started at Naomi. The entire first 3 episodes she was consistently jabbing at Naomi & provoking her for a reaction...till finally Naomi had had it with her. When Nicole compared her 5 year career to Naomi's 30+ career...I don't blame Naomi. She told Nicole where to go & how to get there. Furthermore, if you belive that a 15/l6 yr old Tyra (who she herself said was a part of this mean girl /popular clique at the all girls school she attended) was not a diva & bratty top model...then think again;
4. Jeffrey Esptein & his fiancee took photos with hundreds of famous top & iconic supermodels at fashion after parties and moreso during the VSFS n the VSFS after parties. You & there other internet sleuths always share the same 2 photos. Well you should start sharing photos of Tyra with Jeffrey or Heidi or Gisele or Adriana and the list goes on. No one within the VS brand knew what Jeffrey was doing privately. Until a well known swimsuit model form Miami who was also in Sports Illustrated went to a casting in South Beach that was supposed to be for the 2013 VSFS and there he was Jeffrey Epstein. Something told her this isn't right because she knew Ed Razek was always present for every VSFS casting since 1995. And Monica Mitro & John Pfeifer were not present. So she faked needing to use the restroom, called her agent and waited 15mins till a person arrived to take her home. 3 years later Ed Razek, Monica Mitro & the VS legal team sent a letter to Jeffrey Epstein once it was revealed he had been acting as their casting agent luring young models to pretend VSFS castings in South Beach & other Florida locations without VS knowledge or being an authorized representative for them.
He was ultimately barred from attending any VS fashion shows, VS CEO Les Wexler fired Jeffrey as his financial advisor/accountant and the rest is history.
Naomi was not nor has she ever been friends with Jeffrey & his disgusting fiancee....just because she is seen in a picture with people doesn't dictate friendship or alliances. So in that same breath everyone Tyra ever took a photo with should be brought into question;
5. Of all the allegations of physical abuse brought on by Naomi to her employees, only 3 have been found to hold validity. The 98' blackberry incident, the 2001 passport incident & the 2003 incident where the housekeeper admitted to stealing from Naomi and Naomi in turn wouldn't let her leave till' the items were returned. Naomi has stated she took full responsibility for those 3 but all other were thrown out by a judge not due to Naomi's celebrity(after all she is BLACK & a woman) but lacking evidence and during the investigation plots to blackmail & extort money from Naomi were uncovered.....since you think of yourself to be an investigative journalist...you should share the full context of a story not just the part that makes Naomi look bad. Finally she did due community serviceN paid the 3 frmr employees in severances & their medical/legal fees. I must admit I am glad you didn't go into detail about the British Airways incident at Heathrow..it was later found to be a case of racial profiling after many passengers shared their statements on what they saw, still no vindication for Naomi;
6. The blood diamond allegation was also thrown out...Naomi followed the law and appeared at the trial...in her defense she sited how many times powerful men had tried to woo her & her counterparts with jewelry, cars and etc....and how could she be responsible for someone sending his henchmen to drop off a gift to her in the middle of the night in Mandela's home when she had never encountered Charles David prior to that dinner and had no contact with him after...the court excused her and she was free to go even if unhinged Mia Farrow who later was found to be lying on the stand said otherwise....Mia said the next morning(after that dinner)Naomi was bragging that she received a lavish gift of diamonds but Naomi's agent countered that Naomi called her and said "I am so over men trying to buy me or woo me with gifts..this time it's some dirty stones" so please again, tell the FULL story;
7. I didn't want to mention this but I feel I have to..the plaintiff in the Epstien case never mentioned Naomi's name or any other high profile celebrity aside from mentioning being at Donald's Mar-Largo estate and Epstein sending her to massage him. The judge specifically asked her, is there anyone else you can think of who might have any knowledge of what was going on at Epstein's Island and the plaintiff said "Yes, his fiancee G. Maxwell, his business associates whom she would be hired to massage and the staff of his house on the Island!" Never once did she mention Naomi. In cross examination she didn't mention any models or anyone affiliated with VS(Victoria's Secret). This case is online the transcripts of the case is public knowledge, Google really should be your friend;
8. And lastly, not saying Naomi is without fault. I loathe how this video steadily highlights Naomi's addiction in a manner to suggest she has a problem due to the drugs when Cindy, Linda, Christy, Stephanie, Claudia, Elle, Kate, Iman, Bethann & the list goes have all always said Naomi always spoke up for herself. Was vocal about disrespect & discrimination that they all saw her endure and how many people tried to take advantage of Naomi and she wouldn't allow it. Like John Casablancas..who years before his death did an interview where he retracted his 93' memo to the fashion world where he assassinated Naomi's character in an attempt to ruin her name & career.....we see how well that turned out for him & Elite as a whole. How many allegations came to the light regarding John & Gerald Marie....maybe Naomi said NO NO NO too many times and they wanted to punish her....nice try. I find it funny how you said something to the effects of it is odd that Naomi shuns the paparazzi cameras when her job as a model is to show up in front of cameras daily on runways & photo shoots. Well there is your answer, that is her job. Being in public at a restaurant, hotel, walking on a sidewalk, at the airport, an event or just going for a run....is a human everyday thing.....why would she want the cameras in her face. Naomi along with the other 30 plus industry certified supers didn't ask to be supers, they simply were models who were & still are damn good at their job....the Supermodel moniker was a press add-on.
I also loathe that Katie Couric interview, had Naomi been a white model, Katie would have shown more compassion toward her and empathy during that moment of loss. Like Iman, Veronica Webb, Beverly Johnson, Pat Cleveland & Bethann said "African & Black models are held to a higher standard. We can never not be on. Never have a bad day. Never be sick. Never be sad. Never be of low energy or tired or say no. We have to show up and perform always, or else we are labeled Divas, difficult & bitches instantly."
The diva & difficult label Naomi was adorned with by the press.
This is my opinion and it will never ever change.

If you like this and I certainly did, if you have Apple+ there is a show on the 90's super model with Naomi, and the other super Models from that time. It is Naomi, Christy, Cyndy, and Linda and it's a wonderful show. These ladies influenced SO MUCH in the 90's. Truly awe inspiring.
