I avoided doctors for ~20yrs, dentists even longer - until recently. Lots issues have been popping up, mainly caused by my own neglect, and complete apathy. A year ago, though, I began having seizures, with no apparent cause. After the 3rd or 4th time, I finally saw a doctor. Started on medication to address my mental health, and I was amazed lol. First time in my life I actually gave a shit about life, or my future. So I'm finally at a point where my mind has been stable enough to do something with my time/life - but now my past, my apathy, is catching up with me, and destroying my physical health. Gotta love it 😊 I fkn hate dealing with the things you mentioned, but man I do wish I'd known sooner how to actually take care of my health. For anyone having similar struggles, realize that *you are someone worth taking care of* ❤

The reason you probably have this reluctance to go to the doctor/ other medical-related things is because you trust yourself (and your body) enough to be able to mitigate whatever problems come up without too much trouble. Given the fact that you eat well, likely get regular exercise (if your walking videos are any metric to go by) and have given up things like drinking and smoking, you probably are in fairly good health and you acknowledge this fact by continuing to do so. I feel like we take things (like the medical system) for granted and don’t trust our instincts as much as we ought to, and because of that it really does seem like we’ve lost a part of ourselves along the way. I don’t know, I don’t like going to the doctor either, but that’s also because I don’t like drama and having to worry about things that may or may not be pertinent 5, 10 years down the line. Maybe you’re like that too. Who knows?
It's great to have quit things like smoking or excessive alcohol drinking, but it would be best to never partake of those things. My grandpa was just diagnosed with lung cancer last week due to smoking. He hasn't smoked in over 30 years
