Let me know what you think. I thought it was good. My cousin suggested using Chicken Thighs. I think that would be even better. Also, like I mentioned, pork chops would be great in this as well.
@@SouthernFoodJunkie Been real good here. Got back to blogging in Feb I think and been doing that steady and for the last few weeks, maybe a month (not sure), been bake to RUclips. Lovin' it. Great to see you, Ronnie. Here's to more videos coming from your channel.
@@TheHappyWhisk Thanks Ivy. I will try to start catching up on videos soon! I got burned out and took a step away for a while and then I have started back watching some.
Yes I bet the pork butt would be awesome. This sauce tasted like a combination of Memphis and NC Style BBQ sauce. Sweet,Tangy, and a little heat. Very good. Thanks for stopping by.
Looks delicious.. I have to look but I think one my friends just shared this recipe with me the other day and said it was good. Hope you been doing well. ~Dawn
Hey Dawn. I really thought it was good. Give it a try and see what you think. This virus has really put a damper on our theme park fun huh? We were going to Williamsburg this year in about three weeks. We decided to cancel and stay closer to home 😢
Have to say I’m impressed with the addition of the apple cider vinegar , awesome ! Gives a bit of a bite - very nutritious- very GOOD - new subscriber 🦋
Hey thanks! Yes it almost makes it taste like. Eastern NC style sauce! I thought it turned out really good and I later tried it on pork chops. Again really good!
I have used this recipe several times in the past, however my recipe call foe adding vinegar. In the future i am leaving the extra liquid of the vinegar out. I my even start dry rubbing the chicken, pour the BBQ sauce on top of the bird and let the sauce melt into the natural juices. GREAT tasting chicken even if the sauce is thin :)
Yes it does make a great tasting chicken! I like the extra twang the vinegar gives it and the acid helps cut done of the sweetness. If your crockpot has a stovetop setting like mine does, you could remove the lid at the end and let some of that sauce thicken by turning it on the stovetop setting and simmer it some. That will allow the moisture to evaporate and cause the sauce to thicken some as well. It might work on the high crockpot setting too if you remove the lid maybe the last hour.
Haha you got that right there brother. Even though we use vinegar and mustard base BBQ sauce on our Pork, I prefer the Sweet style on my chicken. Yum Yum.
You said your sauce thinned out , after I had made my comment about watery, So let me change mine to sauce thinned out. But by your response there must be no way to preventing it.
@@DavidMoriconiM3inspect Yes it will thin out since you cook it in a crockpot. The kid holds in the moisture of the food cooking. Using a crockpot, you will always have those result though. I’m sorry I didn’t understand what you were saying at first. If you want it thicker, you could make a little corn starch slurry or maybe add in some more sauce to it. We ate ours like it was abs it was great for us though. Thanks for watching.
YUM........I'm going to try this if I can find my crock pot. Thanks for the recipe.
You are welcome! Let know know how it turns out!
I was starting to wonder if you were alright. Great recipe Ronnie, it's good to have you back.

What is the specific amount of time that it took your chicken to cook? I am actually using this recipe tomorrow.
6 to 8 hours on low. Hope it turns out great for you! Thanks 🙏
Looks yummy! I plan on making this for sandwiches and use the leftovers for Barbecue chicken pizza!
It’s great on sandwiches. Yum! That’s a great idea for the pizza. I need to do that as well. I love BBQ pizza.
That's a pot of Southern Survival Food. You can hook an IV of Sweet Baby Rays sauce to me.

Welcome back bro
Thanks bro. How ya been? Been a while hasn't it?
You can freeze the onion for about 20-25 mins v bye core you chop it to prevent tears. 😭
Great tip! I will try that one day. They typically don’t bother me though. Very seldom.
That would’ve been good to know at Thanksgiving when I made stuffing & felt like I got maced in the face!!
What are you doin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cooking it up bro 😜
Mine comes out way to watery,
I’ve never had that happen. Not sure what that could be.

Hate dried chicken Breast, rather use thighs and drumsticks!
I do not like thighs and drumsticks but they will totally work as well.
