I just want to say how much I appreciate all these workout dance lessons. I do two belly dance classes a week I pay for but this has helped my endurance and getting me physically fit plus I love the breakdowns. I got this undulation correct as I just got done with some bug in my gut and threw up. The analogy was spot on! Thank you Portia for using visuals. Lol

Question please. Are you doing mirror image? Sometimes I am not sure if I am on the correct side. Also I would appreciate sometime when you can addressing hand position so that I get it looking proper as well. You are so beautiful!
Hello Simone and thanks for dancing with me from Toronto! Sometimes yes, but no worries about side, we do both sides to keep ourselves better balanced! To start place your arms at 10 and 2 o'clock , not straight out to the sides; you should have them just below your breasts, and you should be able to see your hands easily while looking straight ahead. Another trick, keep your elbows towards the back wall (avoids chicken wings) and arms slightly rounded. Hands and arms are more for decoration and balance, you can add a touch here and there after getting the movement. The main show is always the footwork or the hip work, so use arms and hands sparingly but keep them strong and graceful!
For miss portia❤ i watch your classes daily and ive been belly dancibg for a year on and off ...this 4 point hip was hard..plse can you do a class just on this as i found it really hard dping circle and the 4 point i just couldnt get it xxthis would be great please 🎉

When you're barefoot you are more grounded and its much better for the muscles in your feet! As for your second question, age does not matter when you're happy in dance!
