When you turn on the press place a mug in the press as it heats up. I use a messed up blank wrapped in butcher paper. The press will drop in temp when you place a fresh mug but it won’t be for long

I’ve just found your channel and I’ve been binge watching your videos! I just wanted to say you’re like a breath of fresh air and really easy to listen to. I like vlogs that have a lot of talking because I listen while I draw/work. I teach realistic art tutorials on RUclips so it’s different to your business but I love your positive vibes 😊

If something happens with your new press, maybe try a convection oven. I have a convection oven that's used just for sublimation and love that I'm able to sublimate more than one cup at a time. The key is the special shrinkwrap made for tumblers so that it hugs the cup in place of the tumbler press that squeezes your cup for you. I hope everything goes smoothly for you from here on out! 🩷

So excited the mugs are working out for you Abi! I did some sublimation tea towels and ornaments for Christmas gifts and the stress of them not turning out properly was out of control😆 Keep up the good work! Love your content. This is a new venture for me as well. I owned a bakery for 12 years and made custom wedding cakes and got so burned out that I decided to sell my shop after 16 years of making cakes. I am so afraid to start all over again with a small business and create burn out for myself again, but I really enjoy following alongside so many digital artists and small businesses that I am going to give it a go and see where it takes me! Lots of love and support from Texas!!

I'm happy for you. Do take note of the time and temperature for each design separately in a Steps Of Procedure book or spreadsheet or somewhere safe.👍

Your heat drops because your mugs are absorbing it. Mine is a different make and does it as well and my friend explained to me the mugs are cold and absorb heat and the machine needs to heat up a bit more :)

yay! congrats on your machine i have the same brand and that smell does go away eventually! i would recommend having a test mug like one you can spare, and try just a small image to see how it turns out, you can keep using the same mug and won't waste any like i did. i hope that's helpful! i would also recommend going up in increments of 5 degrees at a time, or increase your time by 30 seconds. you are gonna have so much fun with that press!

Yay 😀 I am so glad it worked and your mushroom cup is so cute. I have been sublimating for about 8 months or more and I have been where you are. It’s so frustrating but satisfying. I also don’t wait at all to take the paper off the mug when I remove it . I just use my gloves and rip it off hot lol. Never been a problem. I am also about to take the leap and start my RUclips channel next week. It sure is a lot of work lol. I find you are so much like myself but younger and you have inspired me to go for it. My art is painting mainly but good on you for sharing your ups and downs as well. Cheers Tracey

Omg. I am literally in the same shoes as you right now. I want to purchase the sublimation printer and start going back and forth with myself. Do it. Don’t do it. But I know I’m going to push myself off the ledge and just jump. Forget the fear and just do it. Thanks for sharing. 😊😊😊

Your mugs are so cute! I have been sublimating (just for myself) for a couple years. Just wondered if you are using ink and paper from the same company. I was using cheaper paper and ink from different companies not thinking it would make a difference but I noticed that once I switched the colors have been really vibrant. I am currently using Hiipoo ink and paper. Really beautiful colors!
Good luck and keep up the good work and great attitude!

The mugs turned out lovely, and the wonky ones are still good to sell. When you find the perfect settings for each sublimation product, it would be a good idea to keep a note of the different settings, which will save you time in the long run. Good luck at the Halloween Market, and definitely do a vlog of it. Have a great week. 🙂

Congrats on your mug success! I love both the cat and the mushroom designs. And the Santa dog is adorable! I’m just starting on mugs and tumblers, so I love seeing someone who has been on the same journey and mastered the technique. Best wishes for success with your new products!
