  • Our 6 months journey has started! Of course the beginning was at our homeport in Makkum. But Amsterdam felt like the real beginning.
    Sailing from Amsterdam to Scheveningen. Awesome sailing it was.
    Don’t know who we are?
    We are Niels & Marloes.
    Sailing with our Windfinder, a Hallberg-Rassy 48 mk II.
    Sailing wherever she will take us for the next six months, or maybe longer.
    I 🙋🏽‍♀️ quit my job to go on this adventure. Niels can work remote.
    Most of all, we are in love with our Windfinder. It doesn’t matter where we sail to. She is the journey as well as the destination.

    Really like the look and feel of your 48 mk2. Just learning more about them. -- QUESTION -- When you next haul out, could you please take time to video the entire hull/keel and rudder,, everything under the waterline? I can't seem to find any good videos of this. I can get a picture online but it seems like no one ever slowly records it in detail. We want to take a look at what a really good hull design looks like but are unable to find any videos of it. Maybe you have recorded it already in your 43? Would really like to see that if possible.

      @sailingwindfinder  Год назад

      I will try. But it will take a lot of time. Take a look on our Instagram for there are a lot of clips and pictures when the boat is hauled out. Especially from the previous one (HR43).

    • @sailingwindfinder
      @sailingwindfinder  Год назад

      She won’t be hauled out anytime soon. That’s why it will take a lot of time. 🙋🏽‍♀️⛵️🙋🏼‍♂️

    Voor zeeziekte te voorkomen is het beste om in het midden te staan van de boot en naar de horizon te kijken helpt . Dat heb je gedaan daarom werd je niet ziek . Ik heb vernomen dat als je 1 oordoppje in 1 van je oren stopt dan helpt dat ook . Dus niet in allebij de oren .

    • @sailingwindfinder

      Dankjewel, die van één oordopje ga ik ook nog eens proberen. Altijd handig om een lijstje met dingen te hebben die kunnen helpen.

    Een 48 voet zeilboot in de Stix haven: zal wel allemaal erg krap manouvreren zijn... Diep genoeg?

      @@sailingwindfinder O.K.! Ik heb "mijn neus er wel eens ingestoken" met mijn HR40, maar omdat het druk was en ik het niet 100% vertrouwde of ik qua manouvreren er niet in de problemen zou komen, ben ik destijds maar verder gevaren.

    So nice! -- QUESTION -- I keep hearing that in-mast furling mainsails "get stuck".. Have you ever had any problems with the in mast furling system on your two HR sailboats? Not sure if that is just fake news or do they really have problems (they look so good).

    • @sailingwindfinder
      @sailingwindfinder  Год назад

      Thank you for your question 🙋🏽‍♀️ ⛵️🙋🏼‍♂️:
      The in-mast furling system works perfectly for us. What you do have to take into account is in which direction the sail is furled. Seldén and Elvstrøm gives very good instructions on how to use the in-mast furling. We follow that well.
      As a side note, should you not furl the sail according to the instructions. Then it can surely go wrong. But I think that's the case with everything, if you don't follow instructions.
      With us, it goes smoothly. Even in heavy weather conditions at sea.

      @@sailingwindfinder ...that's good to hear. I assumed that it must work well. I just can't imagine that Hallberg would install a defective system on one of their sailboats.
