As a Recruiter, I feel these test need to be banned. Especially a Personality test for a welder! I want to know if you can weld. Not if you can smile lol.

Man these assessments are so freaking unessecary I remember for working at a stationery store like all you do is stock up items and handle the till and yet they have an entire freaking course dedicated to this and you need to be top of class to get employed man some companies love to over complicate things as if I'm going to need mathematical calculations when closing the till or doing a freaking stock take that a little child can do if you show them how to people just love to over complicate things
when a freaking calculator is right In front of me is it like a sin in the Bible to use a calculator when filling stocks all it takes is 5 seconds of a persons life anddand think 5 seconds determine success or failure within a company unless you are a soilded in a cypherpunk universe ofcourse or Michel jackson but getting to the point
and yet they expect you to use mental maths in the pre employment test just its basic filling shelves and counting cash I dont know why in Gods earth is there are a FREAKING ENTIRE COURSE that determines life or death for a simple luxurious job of just filling shelfs

I remember a test once asked how I spend time with my friends like what's that gotta do with flipping burgers so like if I go hiking with my friends I will flip a burger well done but if I go to movies with my friends the entire building will be lit on fire
Ok maybe didnt ask that but man these cooperations just love to bully the sanity out of people

Winner of a video, I been tryin to find out about "free online medical coding practice exams" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Penailey TelepathicPrincipality - (should be on google have a look ) ? It is a great one of a kind product for discovering how to passing the AAPC exam for Certified Professional Coder without the headache. Ive heard some decent things about it and my neighbour got cool

I just fell that they use this as part of the selection process - but not all test would measure the level of individual character or personal strengths. About 20 years ago they tend to judge on your qualifications, if you got a BA, BSc MSc etc now they took it a step further.

I hate these personality tests so much. I’m at my job to make money and will perform my responsibilities as a professional. How can someone have a “wrong” personality? As long as I am polite, professional, and doing my job this is completely irrelevant.

I took a personality test. On a liken scale 1-10, I answered in the middle. One question asked: Would you rather go to the beach or vacation in the mountains alone? I think they were looking for a team player to be around other people. But I live near the beach and chose the mountains. They never called me. There was no opportunity to explain why I chose another change of scenery. The Berke Assessment doesn't provide free sample tests. I don't like taking pre-employment tests. It gives employers knowledge they could use against you under contract, if they aren't ethical. It's being so common to be tested - rough when you've been out of school for decades and looking for a simple job and not a career.

These questions will be so vague, it's easy to interpret it in a hundred different ways. Terrible metrics to base employment off of for sure. I had an interview once where the guy interviewing me had questions like this printed off and was asking them to me live. One of the questions was really odd all around and he proceeded to drill me on it because it was such a strange question I didn't even really know how to go about answering it. It's like he had personal emotions tied up in the question lol.

Thank God for this video...I could not sleep last night thinking about how terrible I did on the aptitude part of the assessment. I agree with answering the personality test it’s consistencies. For example, do not mix “mostly agree/disagree” with “strongly agree/disagree”, choose one or the other for all questions , great video !

How can a company determine your a good candidate for their position based on a black and white test? without a interview in person , or at least a phone interview, I feel these assessments are biased and are not necessary needed for many jobs.!

If i learned anything from failing Walmart's Assessments twice, its to choose answers that kiss ass to the manager. Being too honest or using your opinions can result failing.

i was asked to take the test after the penultimate round of the interview (4 rounds) after having told i "did very well" and the 4 interviewers were "very impressed" with me. I failed the business reasoning test and yet made to attend the last round . was pissed off because they should've told me that they have decided not to go further with my candidacy rather than wasting my time getting all dressed up for a face-to-face interview in the middle of a covid19 lockdown. i felt "played". from then on, i voluntarily withdraw my candidacy from roles which require me to take these tests!

Just took the Do It Best Corp Pre-Employment test. Like you said, needed to pass a series of test BEFORE an actual interview> Passed both the math test and the matching test, then failed the Team Preference Test. There were two tests AFTER that.Come back in 6 Month they said. Ummmm, no thanks.
You hit the nail on the head, pretty sure, I don't want to work for this company!

@@Underdrummer sounds like those rebate offers where they make you jump through 10 hoops to save $10. They know no one is going to waste their time, but they can technically say they offered a discount.

I just took a EEI tech test for a job at a power plant. I passed it BUT in my opinion the test questions had zero to do with what kind of worker I am and my technical knowledge. It really didn't touch on those things. The questions were not so bad but they were timed and I have issue with that. In MOST of the questions its much more important to be accurate than fast. Measure twice and cut once right? Do you want your brain surgeon to be accurate or fast? Do you want the guy that's reading a drawing & closing in a high voltage breaker on a line to be accurate or fast? Anyway, I can see how a test like this could cause a company to miss out of a good employee just because they didn't answer all the questions and failed the test. Very poor way of judging talent IMHO.

A job interview is a great way to gain insight into a candidate’s skills, education, and ability level to do the job they applied for. Aside from an initial interview, many employers have potential candidates take pre-employment tests that provide additional information regarding various aspects of the candidate.
Anyways, read the below. This might help.
