A new and simpler version of Card Trick.

  • The Card Trick block has always been 'tricky' to do, with quarter square and half square triangles, etc.
    Now there are simpler methods, this is one and perhaps the simplest of them all.
    Measurements are;
    4 - 2.5" squares of each colour
    4 - 2.5 x 4.5" strips of each colour
    4 -2.5" squares of background colour
    2 - 7" squares of background colour, cut diagonally

    That dark background really pops the cards. We are in our echo chamber with other quilters but how simple this is for new quilters to do and how beautiful it is to see for the general public of non-quilters

    Sewing on your triangle use the point of triangle and center it with the 4 patch. That way you do not have to mark the blocks.

    I do agree that the older version has a nice complexity to it. And yours is gorgeous! But the new one is quick!

      Thank you, it's my favourite quilt, no, not finished, it's been put away in a drawer again...but I am going to take it to the local quilt shop and have them do the hard part.
