Arizona, a traditional block.
The colours in this block are supposed to reflect the wonderful natural shades of the state - I don't think I achieved that, but I hope the choice is acceptable to the people of that state.
This block looks difficult but it's quite easy.

Remembering my grandfather on Armistice Day.

Another part of a shirt-making video I made a while ago, this is fitting a sleeve.
Просмотров 10221 день назад
This may be helpful with people when making a shirt, the sleeve is a difficult part of the process. There are two trains of thought about this: One to inset the sleeve by sewing the side of the shirt and sewing up the sleeve, the other is to flat sew, the latter is my preference. (and it's easier). I posted this yesterday, but wasn't happy with it, so attempted to fix it. Yesterday was a low energy day, thank you CFS, and the mosquito who gave it to me so many years ago. Shiny things attract me, such as interesting sewing feet, can't help it. This includes some interesting needles as well as feet, and rainbow thread. I wish you had put this out a few months ago when I was struggling to do this block, both the direction you showed and the snail going in the opposite direction. Your instructions would have made putting it together so much easier. The second problem I ran into in putting the top together was making sure the snails were curving in the right direction. Someone pointed out that I had two curving the wrong way when I posted a picture of the top. Luckily, it was a quick fix. I enjoy all your videos.

    • @williamsews
      @williamsews 25 дней назад

      That's why I emphasised the importance of direction, I made a total mess of it the first time. It must look dramatic as a whole quilt. Thank you for your comments.
