Be honest, how many looked away when he started welding? LOL!!!! Yes I did......
I did 😂
Earnharvick 👋
We won't rub it in 😬
It hurts me a little to know that Americans weld like this.
I didn't look away
It’s therapeutic watching this truck get restored daily.
Restored.. Using the term loosely. Hi from the UK @Bruce
Rivet the lights. The rubber grommet LED lights have a tendency to grow legs and walk off. Especially at truck stops.
Good point
So true. It’s happened to me before.
I’ve never heard of this happening at a truck stop, but it wouldn’t surprise me.🧐
That Old Truck is looking better everyday.... I love cab overs.. My first time driving one, was back in 87, when I first went to learn how to drive.. That was before the CDL days.
Good God, the A Team, Hannibal Smith.
“I love it when a plan comes together.”
three red led taillights on each side, rubber grommet type. Cut two round holes in the center frame crossmember for two white lights.
Yep that’s what I’d do that way if you have to work on them you wouldn’t have to drill the damn rivers out
Yesss what he said put two or three white lights in the center.
2 red 1 orange because orange is a better turn signal colour than red
He should fab up a stainless bar between the two brackets he already fabed up, to put the three white lights in to match it across the whole back bar, that would look fab ..... I'll let myself out😳
“I love it when a plan comes together”.
As a child, The A-Team was my favourite show. It’s slightly similar to what you guys are doing with the truck. Maybe that’s why I enjoy following your progress. Cheers from England 🏴😀🤙🏻
Rubber grommet style tail lights. Way easier to change lights when they go out. Do yourself a favor with the mud flaps, notch out the tops of the holes in the mud flaps. That way when you back one up into a curb and you pinch the flap between it and the tire.
It will just pull the mud flap out of the hanger instead of tearing the mud flap.
Simple to slip back in. You don't even have to take the bolts out. Just loosen them up and slide them back in. Free advice, I drove truck for 26 years and found lots of little tricks like that. Love watching these old tractors come back to life.
When you are done with the cabover you must definitely do a summary - a before and after, it would be good to see how it looked like abandoned and how the cabover will be at the end! Greetings from Serbia
Don’t worry about “modifying” the frame by welding those brackets on pintle hitches are welded to dump truck frames all the time never have any problems
Hope that spring ride isn't long for the world. Air ride, is the 3rd best invention in trucking. Somewhere between air conditioning, and power steering lol.
I respect the man checking your tank on the welder.
"Once we get the trucks air pressure to a hundred and... a lot."
Yea shit was funny
Dang it I was lookin but was sure someone already snagged that comment 😂👍
This is why I question if this dude even has his CDL he doesn’t even know basic truck parts or shit you need to know about a truck.
@@michaelkonstantellis3075 naw I think he was just in a hurry and what he meant to say didnt come out like he wanted it to.

Back in the early 90s when I was 18 or 19. I started long haul trucking for Schneider national their fleet were late 80 international cabovers same as you are working on so watching you give this truck new life brings back alot of memories. Would loved to have driven your truck. My trucking career only lasted a couple of years. Today I work in a goodyear tire and rubber factory.
The chrome shop loves seeing you💲Looks like a different truck. 👍
Majorly is indeed a word Bruce! Also, your quote comes from the A-Team, Hannibal says 'I love it when a plan comes together'.
LOVE WATCHING THESE VIDEOS SO RELAXING AND ENJOYABLE TO SEE THIS TRUCK COME BACK TO LIFE HOPEFULLY THE LAST VIDEO WILL BE A BEFORE AND AFTER
Those are nice light bars.🥰 Gotta have some bling all the way around. Those brackets should take a beeping before they bend or break. Secure the lights and always have a couple extra for backup. I’ve never heard of the booted lights getting stolen, but if someone needs one and your truck is around, they might want to try yours on for size.🥺 Love the mudflats!

Hanniball Smith: The A-Team
Man I thought you were saying “Taint covers” not Tank covers. 😂
Nothing like a good ole taint cover to hide hidden damage 🤣
Our good ole teal awesome Duramax brother from another mother. Lmao
He don't need mudflaps he needs a jockey strap if that's the case
Jimmy J thank you man
You need to cut from the bolt hole to the top of the mud flap so if you do catch the flap on something it won't tear the flap. It just pulls out of the hanger. I've done this to many trucks over the years and works great.
I love it when a plan comes together. The A-Team
They look like they’ll catch on the landing gear. Cabovers were know for that kinda stuff. Good luck.
Shouldn't. Never have that problem with mine.
Generally on short trailers.. 28ft.. doubles. The landing gear is set closer on those. I use to have to remove my flaps when pulling doubles... never 48's and 53's
Looking sweet fam!!! Love the way she looks. Can't wait to hear that Cummins roar soon!!!!!!!!!!
It'll sound different now that the rat's nest is out of the air intake ... I know I would.
@@RwHenri yea when he emptied the air intake out, omg I couldn't believe that was in there.
That plastic covering. On 4 states chrome is super strong and glued with super glue. I hate peeling it off. Here is an idea for you truck guys. 14 ga. Outdoor extension cords work well for wiring 3 wire lights. It seals in grommets through frames and metal mounts very well.
Get the stainless steel rings for the tail light holes. Buy the dual revolution tail lights. Red then in reverse they turn white for backup lights.
Like the way you're thinking. Thank God some people have a clue.

Hi Guys the truck is looking great in your rear mud flaps you may want to get some chrome weights to sit at the bottom of the mudflaps to keep the mudflap from folding up good video
The Truck Looks Absolutely Gorgeous
Personally don’t like the mud flaps, I think it takes away from the truck. But hey...keep up the good work. I do like the truck tho.
The statement on the flaps destroys the whole awesomeness of the truck. Why bringing politics into this project?
I don’t know if he’s bringing politics into this or not. I just know in this day and age with all the gov regs it’s really difficult to be an IndependentTrucker. Trucks are what move our great country and somebody needs to remind the bureaucrats about it.
With red mud flaps, which look great!, I think that white cab needs a red stripe or two👍✌
i love it when a plan comes together !!!
Great build with the truck! Why bring T’rump into it?? 🇺🇸

Funny I don't recall trump saying that

Sad to see you climb the mountain , Just to fall off.
Get the clear/white colored taillights that has the red LEDs in it. That would look so good. 😍
Don't forget the chrome weights for the bottom of the page and mudflaps.
I know the red mud flaps with that text supposed to be funny but they look ugly on this beautiful truck.
Wind moustaches? Oh, you mean a “dead cat”.
4 Brothers “I love it when a good plan comes together”😂🤣
With the light/mudflap brackets being behind the main frame, you'll have to be careful when turning a corner while pulling a trailer. The brackets will hang up on the dolly legs.
Them damn Arnold palmers are about As good as half&half twisted teas!!!! My favorite channel 👍 more flatty!!!! 😂
Get e one with rubber grommets
Guess you've never had your lights stolen before 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Rubber is so low class locking also. Locking rivet rings in stainless so much better.

19:51 it's I love it when a plan come together" from The "A" Team
Should have stretch the frame. That thing would look sick with a little stretch ing
Bruce look into weldable paint called "STEEL-IT" 316L Stainless Steel in a can by Wild Powersports dot com.
You can cover your grinds and welds, and not have to grind it off to weld to it. It will protect things until you get things where you want and then do a final or just continue to coat with it.
Good stuff
Rivet locking rings only. Trux brand lights are bright and good quality. They also make spools of wire that have plugs built into the spool so you can cut 3 plugs and saves on any splicing wires. The spools have different spacing between each plug so be sure you get the correct length. Chrome mud flap weights would look great or even anti sail plates that bolt up where the flap goes and hangs down towards the center. I use a rectangular trailer light bolted to the very ends of my bars. The red looks cool from the sides that way.
little by little we build the truck, good work, greetings from Barcelona. 😉😉
I would of preferred the mud flaps if they said “mac trucking great again” but they look sick on there!
Let’s go Trump!!

A grinder and paint make you the welder you ain’t .....not to shabby, considering the wind blowing👍👍👍
For your lights you should buy some dual revolution lights. Look them up. They come in various colors and would set the truck off but they are a bit pricey. And buy the ones with rubber grommets. Replacement is alot easier that way.
Not digging the Trump lover vibe of the mud flaps.

You're living proof of what my Dad taught us when we were kids - you can accomplish almost anything if you learn how to weld and use an acetylene torch. Good job !!
I hear the wind is blowing, but it does not interfere.
The wind protection on the camera works.
Man I hope this wrap he has planned doesn't look ridiculous. Please keep it tasteful.
Here come all the welding nerds...
Go with the lights with the rubber gaskets around them they are water proof and the lights will last longer than a soild mount lights the little rubber Ring keeps them from vibrating in the light bars looking good this summer I'm going to come out your way and bring you some things I think you would dig keep up the good work
Those laser cut/formed mounts look very nice! I recognized the Novacell Laser PVC on them, handle material with it almost daily at work. Friggin lasers!
That cabover is looking great Bruce
I freakin love this cab over project man
The rumpled tank can be seen even through this cover, which you put on it. You can hang a bunch of chrome and light bulbs on this truck, but remember - everyone will always see the damned rumpled tank, it immediately catches your eye
Man, i can't wait for that truck wrap!
While your putting light put a plate over the end of the mud flaps hanger bolts put some white lights on both sides and hide the hanger bolts and have lights when it gets dark out
Might wanna make a removable bracket for mudflap hangers. Or just use extra caution on the trailers you haul, they will catch those hangers and bend and break them
Wow bruce the truck is looking freakin awesome 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍its come along way since you bought it looking forward to the next video even my wife loves watching your videos big hello from Australia.
looking better and better all the time !!! nice job !!
Years ago, I boosted my NTC 350 using Pittsburgh Power parts. I installed a rebuilt fuel pump and high flow injectors , giving the engine about 100 additional hp. The truck also ran better and got .5 mpg better fuel mileage. Also, look into a dual line fuel line kit
for these engines. This fuel line injects fuel into the front and rear of the fuel passages in the heads, balancing the fuel rail pressure. This adds about 25 hp, also.
HAMMER DOWN!!
I know it's not quite finished but hopefully sometime soon you could you do some before and after comparison montages...that would be sick
The cooler this truck gets the more I think you should stretch the frame. Anyways great job amazing build.
You might be surprised how useful this truck is IRL, the wheelbase means he can park in a standard parking place bobtail, something that many Dualie pickups can't do easily. Cabovers are just a handy truck, and stretching it kind of defeats the purpose. If the point is just creating a piece of art, that's one thing, but if he plans on using the truck, its far better shorter, both under a trailer and bobtail IMHO.
I would put in the riveted lights. They are harder to replace, but more difficult for someone to steal them. 👍
And look a little more classier. I can remember before they came out with the rivet in one's we used to use these little wood like screws and covers over the rubber. It looked okay but a pain to deal with. Things have came a long ways lol
You take a lot of pride in your work👍👍👍👍👍👍
I like the touches of red, looks great

Trump could have stopped the ELD mandate but.....He didn't. That's how much he cares about trucking. I'm still a trump supporter but i realize he doesn't give a shit about us. Anyways yea, make trucking great again cause it sucks worse now.
Those holes around the light holes are for chrome bezels, they make stainless or plastic that go over the rubber grommets
