Huge thanks to Jim Ollick for editing this video!
Great work Viktor, I now have the confidence to replace my own front pads. Thanks for helping all of us.
You got it!
You make the best informative videos on rx maintenance. Thank you very much will save me a lot of money doing it myself.
Thank you for the positive feedback and encouragement!
@@Viktor_G_AutomotiveHi, you stated the torque was 114 ft-lb. Lexus forum states 78 ft-lb. Please confirm. Thank you!
@@HungTran-dq5ut The information provided in my video is accurate. Thanks for watching!
Great video!
Thank you!
thank you!
Any time!
Mr. Viktor, thank you for the most descriptive video. I was always afraid to take brake clips off and get on after cleaning. Now I know. A lot of other things in video that were helpful. If you rotors are not warped can you get way with not replacing them.
Thanks! The rotors do not need to be replaced if they are above minimum thickness, but I would recommend to always machine then on the brake lathe to straighten them and let the new pads wear in properly.
Thank you for quick response @@Viktor_G_Automotive
hello viktor, can you make a video how to remove the lexus rx350 fender liner from the front left side right side?
thank you👍
Will do if I ever get a chance, thanks!
Thanks!
Thank you so much for supporting the channel, I truly appreciate it!
Great Video; you mentioned you Turned the Rotors. How much need to get turned or what’s max size or thickness of Rotor need ? Beyond what thickness size left you can not turn and need to discard to buy new ones ? Minimum specification size will help.
Hi, new rotor thickness is 28 mm. Minimum thickness is 25 mm. How much you need to machine off the rotor will depend on how warped or grooved it is. Usually they can be machined twice before they reach minimum thickness, but that will depend on your driving style and the type of pads you use (aftermarket ones often wear the rotor down significantly more than the OEM pads do).
Amazing video and information Viktor! One of the best brake replacement videos on RUclips! Any chance to do a similar video for 2022 NX 350h? Thank you Viktor
Thank you! If I get my hands on the new NX again, I’ll try to make a brake replacement video.
Super ! 🤩
Thank you! Cheers!
Hi Victor, can you post a video for 2022 Hybrid RX450HL break fluid bleed / change? thank you
Will do if I get a chance!
Hello Victor, do you have a video out that demonstrates how to repair the CV axles or the CV boots on a 2018 Lexus RX 350 L all wheel drive?
Hi Sean, unfortunately not at this time.
Great video Victor, I just called two lexus dealerships in my area for front rotors on my "17 Rx 350 they both said the part # was 43512-F6010. Have they changed from using part # 43512-0E040?
Hi, either one will work. Lexus/Toyota often has several interchangeable part numbers, depending on whether the vehicle was manufactured in Japan, Canada, USA etc.
Thank you for the videos im learning a lot. I ordered front pads for my NX300 from the dealer and noticed one pad on each set is marked with a purple dot. Does it mean that marked pad goes inside?
I don’t remember the NX front pads being marked or being different side to side, but just compare them to the old ones you are taking out to be sure.
18: the mark form the piston, arent those new
The pads are new, the shims were reused, as shown earlier in the video.
Would this be the same procedure for a 2019 UX200 F-Sport?
Yes, almost identical.
Nice video. Did you end up having to turn the front wheels to access those bolts that hold the caliper bracket?
I personally do no turn the wheels, but some people prefer to do that for ease of access. Thanks for watching!
Any chance you can post a video on how to change the brake fluid (and bleed) on 2022 Lexus RX 450h hybrid please? I understand it's a much more complex job than a regular ICE RX350. Thanks
To do it properly you would need to use a scan tool.
Hello Victor, if the boot is merely slightly damaged with a small amount of grease, is it feasible to replace just the boot and not the CV joint? Is this even advisable?
Yes, definitely possible to replace just the boot and install new grease. However, in practice, most dealerships or DIYers would generally replace the complete axle. It is a bit of extra work to take it all apart and also very messy :)
Can i use permatex silicon ceramic brake lube instead of toyota rubber grease
I’ve never used it, but it appears it should work ok according to the description of the product.
@Viktor_G_Automotive thanks for the info! The description says I can use it for all brake parts. But I would still need anti seize right? Also do you think it's safe to use this for both caliper pins and the shims?
@@hongshin4716 unfortunately, I can’t answer that, since I have no experience with that product
Your amazon store link for the brake pads shows applicable to 2016-18 RX models. Is the part # you mention also applicable to 2020 Fsport Models?
Hi, looks like they updated the part number for 2020-2022 models. I have edited the links. Thank you for bringing this to my attention! Here is the link for front pads for the 2020-2022 models (I may receive a small commission if you make a purchase using the link :) ebay.us/lY1UxU
Thank you for the update. Maybe a material change in the pads?
@@angelomessina5459 most likely, yes.
I used your other video about a year ago and the video was amazing. (I did brake pads and rotors) I slowly started getting front end shake while braking that got worse and worse.
Luckily the parts were under warranty so I got new pads and rotors installed this weekend. What would be the cause of the rotor warping that happened to me. The rotors are good quality and the pads are euro spec
You probably won't like my answer, but if this vehicle came to me for diagnosis, I would recommend to start by replacing the rotors, pads and shims with factory parts. I understand that you feel the parts are of good quality, but from my perspective, it is not possible to be sure of what is causing the issue when dealing with aftermarket parts. Often the warp is caused by either improper pads/rotors or driving habits such as overloading or towing with the vehicle, especially in hilly/mountainous terrain.
Hi there Viktor, Thanks so much for the instructional video again! I'm getting ready to replace the front brakes on my 2017 RX 350. Should I apply any grease or anti seize compound to the wheel hub before putting on the new rotor?
I normally don’t, but it is absolutely fine if you do.
Thank you sir. I think I'll skip it. I'm in Arizona so there is not usually rust etc on the hub here.@@Viktor_G_Automotive
Is bleeding the brakes necessary after replacing pads and rotors?
It is not
Excellent thanks. Your video was extremely informative. I’m an OEM kinda guy lol
@@rperez9079 excellent, can’t go wrong with OEM Toyota/Lexus!
What is torque specs for rear brake?
All torque specs are in the video.
Front and rear are same torque specs? In the video have only front brake.

Thank u
Textar Pads are an OEM for toyota. /Lex
Are they? I’ve never heard of that company, most Toyota/Lexus brake components I see are made by ADVICS, some possibly by Akebono
I have seen these names as well , on OEM parts . Textar vare really nice quality . @@Viktor_G_Automotive
