Meanwhile, the AoE heavy elemental spells that you are referring to (the Ma -Dyne spells), they also have no different unless they are buffed with Makakaja to max and your enemy is debuffed all the way down, that include Megidolaon and it's predecessor (Megido and Megidola). The powerful elemental AoE spells that you possibly mean that is more powerful that Megidolaon is not the Ma -Dyne types (Maragidyne, Mabufudyne, Maziodyne, Mazandyne, Materadyne), but the random AoE magic spells (examples are Fire Breath, Ice Breath, Shock, Tornado, Hellfire, Glacial Blast, Bolt Storm, Wet Wind, Prominence) those ones can deal massive damage, but they are random... Sometimes they hit one target, hit two, three, or all targets... And their damages are random, sometimes they do single hit, double hits, or triple hits. While Ma -Dyne spells, they designed for AoE and will always hit everyone unless enemies can dodge it, or resist it... Their damages are fixed - dependant, and can't go any higher without some boosts, but will scale a little bit if your enemy is weak to certain elements (with or without boost). Almighty... Are good because they cannot be block with void, repel, drain... It can only be resist. And of course it cannot hit weakness, because no one in SMT series is weak to Almighty. And why Megidolaon doesn't deal much damage because it's an AoE that hits every targets, it's not a randomize AoE... So the damage have to scale down, even if you use it for one enemy... @@ronank2432 okay true that some super bosses have almighty resistance so it doesn't literally "pierce" but the idea of almighty damage and pierce is effectively the same an element that bypasses elemental affinities due to almighty not being a listed element is very similar to allowing you to bypass elemental affinities by directly bypassing them with an ability that allows elements to ignore them which is what I was getting at by stating that Megidolaon is weaker compared to any pierce skill of the same damage level and why it's considered a meme strat as apposed to an effective one it looks big and bad but it's not cost effective and there are better ways to beat it in all damage types be it single target or AOE

Probably you've find that out by now, but in Nocturne there's a boss fight with Mot, in which there's a probability he would spam Beast Eye until he got free max turn, then max makakaja on himself, and then spam megidolaon to the Demi-fiend until he's dead. It's probably a bugged code but it's so hilarious that everybody made a meme of it.
