Thanks for watching everyone, it was great to see so many people on the premiere. Thanks to everyone who commented on the video, I'm super proud of Charlie for getting his first engine rebuild under his belt and he's over the moon that it all went well. Thanks again guys and remember to hit the SUB button so we can get to 10k SUBS before the summer.
Great job Charlie. 👍 You're lucky to have your old man, he has plenty of experience and knowledge to share, soak it up like a sponge. Are you doing an Apprenticeship 🤔 if not why not.
Charlie Take it from this 57 year old grandfather. Enjoy every day you spend working with your father (I worked with mine for 8 years from leaving school to leaving home and buying a house 100miles away) Of course you will wind each other up and get fed up at times with each others habits, but the time spent together will be priceless as father time ticks on.
Just come accross your chanel well done Charlie on the engine rebuild job. I also do a lot of engine rebuilds my self mostly on transits and also have my old man helping me out most places dont want to entertain a engine rebuild theis days but its is a good skill to learn and rewarding when you here that first start and see it driving down the road again keep at it m8 and good on you dad for lerning you and getting involved yous have gained a sub 😀
Thanks for joining us, hope you enjoy the videos. I love engine building but I also understand why most places want to throw in a recon lump. Next on the engine stand will be the MX5 engine before we turbo it.
good to see that gilmour is still. did you try eastend radiators? they would have test the radiator for you. don't know if they are still on the go or not.
Love the channel lads, nice job on the engine Charlie, takes me back to being a young lad working with my dad in his workshop, great memories. East End Radiators in Dennistoun is the place for testing rads and we used Davie Gilmour’s for years, they’ve always done great work.
Thanks Alan, I'm glad i was told about Gilmours, i had never heard or used them before. A couple of people have mentioned East End radiators now so ive put tyem in my little book gor next time. Thanks again mate.
I use drivetec oil for my little Corsa, it's actually a good oil, I change it every 6k because of the chain, I was told by a few mechanics and someone who I know works for vauxhall recommended me around the 6k mark, I like watching you and Charlie do your vids, keep up the good work
Thanks mate, i think Drivetec is a decent oil, good calue for money amf meets all the specs required by manufacturers. I thinknyour spot on doing the corsa every 6k.
Another great video proud of Charlie completing his first rebuild great experience being hands on & nice watching you's work together your dad has a wealth of knowledge nothing greater than sharing & teaching your son amazing content have a smashing evening #HomeBuilt 👊💨
Thank you for the kind words John, im looking forward to my next one, really enjoyed the experience. Be cool to build a performance engine and change the rods and stuff. Thanks again and we will see you next week.
Great video guys and well done on getting the engine rebuilt Charlie 👍👏 . Car sounds mint now 👌 Really glad the fire 🔥 never caused any damage to your unit and no one was hurt .
@@HomeBuilt I know Stevie real close one there mate with the fire being over the top of your unit roof as well . Pleased no one's unit got damaged and those gas and argin bottles never went boom !
Your channel just keeps getting better , a great father and son video, you can see how proud yous are of each other , and btw , a lucky escape with the fire , could have been a lot worse , always have a fire watcher , always 👍👍
Thanks Tim. Little car seems to run great so far, weve done about 20 miles in it and left it running outside for a couple of hours, heater is good and the fan kicks in properly so all seems well.
Well done guys, nice to see the lad having a go and learning. I know you checked out the rad for leaks and gave it a flush through, but I'm always left wondering what cooked the lump to make the head banana like that
Me too, we will be keeping a close eye on it over the next few days. My guess is the head gasket went a while ago podsibly caused by a seized thermostat which has now been cut out by whoever sold the car in the first place.
thankyou gentlemen,a great result, and started first time,,👌👌,somebody needs to have a severe word re burning cardboard,,this could of been a very very different story,,,💥💣
Thanks Stevo, i think people will be mote careful now when it comes to cardboard disposal, maybe i can talk the guys into going 3 ways on a biffa bin instead of burning.
Very on message for You Tube ...........SRUK had a fire in a Rangey last week - seems to be quite in vogue scaring yourselves to death. Best warm Matt at High Peak lol
Great video. What make of torque wrench are you using? It’s sounds really crisp in the clicks compared to the one I have. I want to get a new one and like yours
Thanks mate. The one we were using is a Halfords one. www.halfords.com/tools/hand-tools/spanners-and-wrenches/halfords-advanced-torque-wrench-model-100-and-2-pc-socket-adaptor-bundle-4887031022.html
Great to see you both working away together... wish I had the same relationship with my old man....these are the days you'll talk about years later...take care guys...
I've had about 6 if the with intermittent faults on the fan switch that has done the head gasket All with under 40k on the head bolts I mark them with paint the way when the phone rings you don't forget there you are

I think so mate
Yeah the best way is use an old 55 gallon barrel with holes in it if your burning rubbish 🗑
And away from flammable materials
Great video
Thanks mate
Dad doesn't want much from you Charlie eh, engine build and make cake!! 😅
I’ll get the oven

did chain have marks too to ensure its spaced correctly?
Didnt see anything on it mate, i think a new chain would come with the marks on it.
I might replace the chain when we are 100% sure the engine is ok.

Lets go
First in 😂👍
they must be saft in the heid to burn rubbish with all that crap around the chiminea
Its not the best idea mate. I think im going to see if all 3 units want to chip in on a biffa bin or something.

close miss!
Mate, i couldnt believe it! They burn cardboard every week but i think the wind got it this time.
Im glad i take mine to the tip 😂
