Loved these MK2's growing up in the late 80's/90's.... there were just so many great cars during that period like Golf MK1, Lancia Delta Integrale, 205GTI and Renault 5 Turbo to pick but a few. I am sure you did this car proud.
Static strips!! Crumbs my mum was convinced they prevented her travel sickness and we never believed her. One journey she was sick, turned out the strips had fallen off 😮😂

Can’t believe that started up so easily…….. there happens to be one sitting in a garden near me that looks like it’s sat for years
I had 4 of the mk2 3 were 1.8 and 1 1.6. Check the carb see if its had the upgrade. The pierburg were terrible and normally got replace with webber. I am sure I still have bits from my last one clear indicators coilovers wheels and other bits always wanted to get another one as I wanted to put a 1.8t 20v that I have in the garage. Also check the bulk head they were bad for splitting at the clutch cable hole like old minis.
Its got a Pierburg on it just now. I looked at a Webber but its like 400 quid new so i may look at other options.

Cool I had a red Scirocco MK2 back in 90s .I lowered it and put some decent wheels on it ,I preferred the first MK2 with the one wiper.
26:48 the door / roof is worse than I thought 💭 but I’m sure with a little bit of infinite wax it will come out great 👍🏼.

My Uncle Brian got me into VW's when i was a boy, he always wanted a Scirocco but Aunti Mags wasnt a fan so ended up with a few Mk2 Golfs instead.

Great content, brought back very fond memories had two back in the nineties, gold GTS and a Red Scala with a Weber carb and a high lift cam, quick as a Golf GTI , also used to be in the owners club called "Sky Rocket "from memory. Autolock amused me ,once had a car nicked with one of em fitted together with equally rubbish Krooklok !

Tye golf mk3 I had for 12 years had sat for 8 before I bought it.

The rocco is built on the a1 chassis,so mk1 golf parts are the same ,think the part on the front of the head is a fuel vapouriser?

Hey don't knock the autolock - I got about £20 off the Insurance on my Orion Ghia Injection (new) in 1987 by using one. And - get this - the insurance was about £120 lol
I prefer the more original stance... just sayin', Josh could be right...
😂 it will appeal to a wider audience of buyers my way but at the same time anything we do will be reversible if any purists want to buy it.

He’s even said him self that it’s nothing structural is it destroyed can it be saved the few dents are the least of its problems getting an mot it I would be worried about
If you see the drivers side most people would say it is destroyed, an insurance company would most likely write it off.
