That Mercedes reminded me of how frustrated I was when we got something interesting in on trade at the GM dealership where I worked. Once we got a beautiful Jaguar XKR (?) convertible in royal blue with a tan leather interior. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. (I was a lot attendant.) No such luck. It went straight to wholesale, and was snapped up by an auction company.
@@DaveBsellsChevy quicker and easier, perhaps. But is there more money to be made selling it on your lot, especially since you do not have an overabundance of inventory? People shop on the internet a LOT (I know you know that, not being condescending), so the Benz will show up for people looking for one. Kind of puzzling to me.
Why trade a car like that for a vette? Sounds like there is an issue with the benz to me. Sales manager thought the same thing and said "LETS dump that thing and make some money."
hope you guys are in the mercedes right, sending it to auction might not make anything on it, or maybe get with local benz dealer see if they would buy it.
that AMG GTC is a really sweet ride. Im not sure i'd trade it in for a Z06 lol but goes to show how good of a job GM did with that car that people are trading in AMGs for them
I love how everyone is saying no one is buying cars right now because interest rates, and that people are waiting until "the moment". BS. Trucks, SUVs, Vettes are all selling like hot cakes. GM cannot make enough of them. I drove by a few dealers today looking for a Tahoe or a Yukon, and they were all swamped. I actually had to wait for a sales associate to be available because they were so busy in two of the stores. Some newlywed picked up a Silverado ZR2 with a $20k markup, so there are still tons of buyers out there. Tahoes and Yukons are in super high demand right now and they told me it was a 8 month wait at the very least.
I can’t believe people don’t know or use the Costco buying program. A month ago I used it twice for two Honda hydrids and each I saved 2500.00 each car . I used it on my trailblazer and Trax and saved 1200.00
@8:51 the Mercedes has a New York State inspection sticker on it along with the prior owner registration. Not a smart move by the gentleman who traded it in. He could receive tickets due to that oversight.
As always informative and educational video..Also personable, professional, and fun. The trax is a great car for a young person just buying a car..We love Costco you mentioned that program. Have a beautiful day and as always great video. I don't like that Mercedes it looks claustrophobic lol😂 Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
AMG's in any Mercedes are the high-performance version that particular model. The AMG engines are hand built and should have the name of the technician who built the engine.
Cool video…Regarding the settings for the Mercedes, S is sport, S+ is sport plus, I is individual so you can adjust the settings individually. For example, you want the engine in sport but the suspension in Comfort. I am surprised you would wholesale the car, you should be able to sell it for a lot more retailing it
Oh the lovely amg gtc. As soon as I watched the thumbnail I said, an amg gt? 😮 I was correct. I had lots of fun with a 2020 coupe, being a gtc means it had more horsepower, 550 actually. It was yellow, black wheels and lots of carbon fiber including the steering wheel! Yes, getting in and out is a pain, and the seats and the suspension ain't exactly sofa material lol. The sound and the experience is freaking amazing 😉

@@Cory69 yes, but they are in New Jersey. Quite the population base within, say, an hour's drive. I would wager there are people in that range looking for a Benz like that, especially at the right price.
I appreciate your videos. I had a question about used cars. We all know you can buy a reliable used vehicle such as Chevy, Toyota, Honda, etc and expect to get over 100K miles without too many issues, BUT will consumers be willing to purchase 5+ year old/50K mile used EV's? I am not sure they will.
@@dhale1159 Because you never know when the battery or drive component will go out. There are horror stories of consumers purchasing used EV's and they find out why they were on the resale market. I know they are expected to last well over 100K miles, but do they always, no?
Agreed. I would be very reluctant to purchase a preowned EV for a few reasons. The longevity of the battery is affected by how you charge it. It is recommended that you only charge to 80% and do not generally go below 30%. Owners, especially lease holders may tend to go to 100% knowing that they will be returning the car. I know people who lease and always go to 100% charge (In part because the infrastructure limits their ability to find available chargers). Also, the battery tech will be charging in the next few years to probably solid state. They are also depreciating at a higher rate. We lease an EV and love it, and are good at maintaining the recommended charge levels. @@bradfordsparks329
It wouldn’t be a Saturday night without a Dave B video
Thanks for watching
Always enjoy when Dave b has another dealership update video always enjoys these
You and your dealer are doing way better than the Chevy dealers in Las Vegas. They’re drowning in inventory.
Good, let the floor plan companies start the fire sale if rhe dealers are unable to come to their senses.
