    To me aerie is one of those brands that really claims an "inclusive" size range, but they seem to be pushing towards the larger size of things. I agree - if I'm normally a medium, I don't find that buying an xxsmall is flattering to my self esteem. If anything, it's a little irritating to feel like I never know what will fit. I love an inclusive size range but it's ok to just add extra sizes up and down, you don't have to claim an xlarge is a medium just to save feelings lol or to try to "cater" to a larger demographic. Most larger women I know also don't appreciate the "flattering" sizing.

    • @MR-lk6bk
      @MR-lk6bk 3 года назад +3

      I can appreciate this comment and I can understand the frustration to find a size and also be mindful that you are privileged to be able to always find something that fits you. I’m a midsize body so I also have had the privilege to find sizes in most ranges (large or xlg- and I’ve also been a size s and m). But think of how many people are able to fit into these sizes because they have more inclusive range. Plus this is just one store, imagine the other stores mentioned in this haul that plus size or larger bodies can’t fit into. I can’t imagine what it must feel like to finally be able to fit into a large when you’re usually a xxl - and I think that’s what inclusivity is about, not the xs to xl people who always can find their size.

      This comment is meant to just keep challenging our ways of thinking and being empathic to other humans ❤️

    • @Elizabeth-po4qd
      @Elizabeth-po4qd 3 года назад +4

      @@MR-lk6bk I totally understand where you're coming from! You're right, I can't understand how hard it must be for some to find their size represented in most stores. The fact that so many stores don't cater to more sizes is definitely more unfair and frustrating than the fact that sizes between stores that don't line up.
      I do think though that shopping would be easier and more accessible for all if we just had sizing that accurately reflected the dimensions of the clothes! Like, a small is x inches, a medium is y inches, etc. Of course not everyone fits into perfect dimension boxes, but that just means we need a wider variety in sizing - and that problem kind of exists anyway with clothes. Idk.
      For example, I like the way most men's pants are sized, with a length in inches and a waist circumference in inches - no confusion, and universal for most stores. My bf is a 34-32 and can walk into most stores and find that, but in those same stores, I might be a medium in one, a 26 in one, and a 30 in one. What does that even mean??
      I also think these stores should be doing everything possible to make a huuuuge size range, especially considering their profit margins. No excuse for not catering to everyone, and they can afford to do so. My inherent problem is just with the lack of universality in the sizing, because it makes shopping more cumbersome for people of all sizes.
      Edit - I really appreciate you commenting! I feel I came off as a little rude in my original comment which I didn't mean to - everyone should have access to clothes, and aerie does do a great job at offering a wide size range.

    • @MR-lk6bk
      @MR-lk6bk 3 года назад +4

      @@Elizabeth-po4qd there’s legit nothing worse when you look at all your sizes and see how inconsistent!!! UGH maybe one day we’ll have a brand that’ll change it all for us but I’m glad aerie exists to start making the rest of them keep up! 👏

    • @MrQuiggleify
      @MrQuiggleify 3 года назад +2

      @@MR-lk6bk I think the point of frustration is that the sizing for Aerie is now super inconsistent and it also doesn't allow people with smaller or petite bodies to even shop there at all now also ordering your "usual" size now results in returns because the sizing is so off. Running large and having inclusive sizing I think are two different things. Yes please have a larger size run and availability and inclusivity, but don't make something that should be a true small actually a medium or large. You're definition of "inclusivity" is actually quite exclusive. I personally used to love aerie, now the XXS is massive on me when before I wore a S, why is that fair to petite people? We can be inclusive without excluding others.

    As a canadian, I have to recommend Roots sweatpants! At full price they can be kind of expensive, but they are amazing quality, and a hack is to buy kids sweatpants if you're on the shorter side (kids sweatpants go for around $40 CAD). I'm 5'4" and a boys size 14 fits me perfectly (my 5'7" friend can wear them too but they just aren't as baggy at the bottom on her longer legs). The best joggers I've ever had were from Aerie that I bought like ten years ago. My thighs are very good friends and as a result of their friendship I go through pants fairly quickly. Especially sweatpants that are a polyester cotton blend. I might get 6 months out of them. So I usually go for 100% cotton. My aerie joggers are actually 100% rayon and they have lasted like 10 years which is nuts. That was back when aerie made really nice stuff.

    okay to tie the circle drawstrings-- first open the loop up and fold down the center, so that you have two loops away from the center of the pants. then fold each loop over each other and through like the first step in tying your shoelaces. then you just have to basically do a slip knot with the loops. it can easily be taken out by tugging on the right end and will stay in place.

    This is the video that I desperately needed!! I absolutely love my Aerie sweatpants (Fleece of Mind Zip Joggers) and men’s sweatpants from H&M. The ones from Aerie are super cat friendly! Although, my cat is naked, but she does have claws!

    I actually really like the ryderwear block joggers, the material is thick and comfy and a little oversized but not enough that you need to size down. Also your abs are amazing 😍

    Kathryn you are too good! You need to take over Abercrombie’s department on naming items. An item named “Cloud” joggers should most definitely be lined with fleece!

    I actually LOVED the Aerie OTT fleece Joggers because of how baggy they are 😅! I still stayed true to size for me - bc I think everything you disliked in them I loved - they’re super comfy not restrictive & I usually use them only for home & to wear on top of my gym outfit if I’m wearing shorts! I love the oversized lines that aerie comes in ^_^!! But I’ll be sure to try a lot of these other affordable recommendations!

    You can tie the circle drawstring in a slip knot, that’s the only way they’re easy to untie. But it does make the drawstring a little bulky when it’s tied

    I have 3 pairs of the vuori joggers and they are my absolute favorite. I wear a size small and they fit perfectly and make my booty look SO good. Also the quality of these are amazing I’ve never had any tears or holes in mine. You should also check out their leggings too they are amazing!

  • @briegookin2112

    I found Feed Me Fight Me leggings have unique stitching that is both compressive and youre not fighting to pull them up all the time. Theyre also TTS.
    Fleo joggers is what i choose (though i wish they had zipper pockets) because theres no drawstring, they're fleece lined which can get hot quickly but nicer when the cold does happen and the fabric isn't pilling even aftet several months of washing every 2-3weeks (or when i wear em and they stink).

    Thank you for the review! Aritzia TNA joggers are also long and have decent packages, AND they are not restricting at all. Maybe you can try in the future during their winter and summer sales (when the whole site will be on sale, even the sweat suits which normally have no discount). I am kind of on the tall side (5'6) and hate short joggers because my ankles are born fragile😂. If winter joggers cannot cover my ankle when I am sitting then it is a no for me...

    It cracks me up, I kept looking for a video like this one for guys, but apparently guys only care about how they look, not how they feel haha, who knew I'd have to look to a girl's videos for super comfy sweatpants. Literally every video I saw from guys none of them even showed the inside or talked about it and most you could tell were not fuzzy fleece on the inside. Great video! I think I'm gonna check out the target and Walmart ones, not cause of the price cause that doesn't matter but they fit the criteria that I have which is the super fuzzy fleece on the inside. I got a pair of super dry sweatpants and they are super fuzzy and comfy on the inside but they are completely out of stock. I got those on special for 20 but normally they run 44$ which I wouldn't mind if they actually had them in stock but now I'm seeing similar sweatpants from target. Thanks for the info!
