Just wanted to chime in and add "TVIScale" inside Nuke (although render Heavy) does an incredible job uprezing 2x. Has passed QC when going from HD to UHD when delivering to studios. No need to denoise. Also, I appreciate your Channel. Cheers.
I'm working in AE and having first steps in Nuke. This kind of small tips are so convincing to change software. This few-nodes script brings amazing resoult.
Great tuts sir please is it 4k 8k footage always needs proxy resolution down or it crashes with the buffer or system GPU or Ram Cache?? Hi sir it's very much helpful hi myself Rony an VFX student from India
WOW SIR YOU ARE INCREDIBLY SUPERB THE MASTER OS DEEP COMPOSITING VERY HELPFUL TRICKY TIPS AND ALSO THE BLENDING MODES FOR FILTERING ALGORITHM UNDERSTANDING THAT'S NOBODY CAN !!! hI SIR MYSELF RONY I'M AN VFX CG STUDENT FROM INDIA
After using the sharpen as a filter in the reformat, some values go below zero. So afther this method, adding a Clamp help to recover these values. I hope this helps.
Yes absolutely! Remember I did this live on a stream answering a question from the chat! No prep! No script! I did it on the ‘fly’ so I did forget about a few things! Thanks for watching
As I explained in the video am using the Lin2Log as a colour correction so I can retain detail. BTW this video is a bit obsolete now with Nuke 13 and the ML upscaling tool. That new tool is great! Slow but great
Sir I want to chat with you because u want to be a COMPOSITOR so how can I chat with you sir🙏🙏 please sir I was recently joined on institute but that is waste of money and time tooo so please solve my problems sir🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Sir what happened to showreel review series..after two or three videos no showreel are reviewed for long time..i guess people where getting lots of information and help to learn ...??????
I will continue to publish them don’t worry. I have been served notice on my rented house after 10 years and I have been trying to find a new house for the last 8 week. I am also packing so unfortunately I can’t create any new video or make any new streams right now. I will be back in October.
This is nice and simple, great to watch. Have you ever consider to use DasGrain Gizmo from Fabian Holtz for regrain when you don't have original grain plate ? www.nukepedia.com/gizmos/other/dasgrain Cheers
Hugo, i was interested your online training course but , industry talking about your online course, you are not finished yet Hugo desk- 1.00,2.00,3.00 .but you already took full payment from 300+ students.
My course is delayed yes. We have been very transparent with all the students about my personal problems on finishing the course. For the past 12 months, I have had several major personal and family problems that have prevented me from finishing the course. So far, we have created 100 classes. I am missing 25 classes to finish the course. Please keep in mind that this course has been a huge task. It was originally only going to be 50 classes and it will be 150 (if you count the Python classes). We have been adding more and more new topics and classes over the years so the course is constantly growing. We also have also huge production cost with 2 full-time employees to create, edit, produce and make this course possible, not to mention we have a huge server cost with a full customized DRM player to protect us from piracy. My predicted deadline is November at this stage. I will not make a 4.0 Kickstarters for this course until it is completely finished. That means the course will be finished this fall. The 4.0 will have many new classes and it will be free to any 1.0. 2.0 or 3.0 student. If you are one of my students and you are not happy with this course please contact me privately so we can discuss it. Thank you for your time
Sure you could but if you want to rescale inside a Nuke composite at 32-bit float this would be the best way! This method also works very well for CG and it is a great way to rescan under a VFX pipeline with colourspace considerations like ACES. Normally VFX studios don't use external tools like Topaz to process plates.
Also, to go deeper into this topic, please remember this is a scaling method to be done inside Nuke, it's a compositing tutorial and not an editing tutorial. In a VFX pipeline, you can't really go to other software and upscale footage with plugins. You need to create everything inside the same compositing tool so you stay inside the companies pipeline and the also stay inside the same colour space like for example ACES. If you can ignore pipelines and colourspace then go right away and scale on Topaz if you want! It does work very well!
If you are after a simple to use AI solution that's available inside of Nuke, you can look into our product NNSuperResolution: www.pixelmania.se/products/nnsuperresolution/

Sinc4 is good.
And Notch can be good/useful when you know where to use it ;)
Thanks for the video. How does this compare to the TVIscale node?
I get better results wit this then the TVIscale and also more control like the grain management
DasGrain installation is drag and drop ... too hard?
How to UpScale Nuke 12 UI for 4k monitor ?
Nice one...
Thank you! Cheers!
I just notice that impulse filtering does't destroy any pixel in conversion from hd to 4k...why anyone use it? it for a specific reason?
Why are you transferring lin2log even though the src is already in logarithmic?
As I explained in the video am using the Lin2Log as a colour correction so I can retain detail. BTW this video is a bit obsolete now with Nuke 13 and the ML upscaling tool. That new tool is great! Slow but great
