That's a big boar! It'll be fun to watch along. Glad you found us here. If we can help you in any way, don't hesitate to drop us a note. Not sure if we're close to each other or not, but we'll help! Just subbed. Cheers!
Thanks! Fun to find fellow Minnesota Homesteaders! You mentioned you want to build a sturdy greenhouse. Kevin designed a simple, sturdy, beautiful greenhouse. Check out that video and let me know if you have any questions and if you are interested in building something similar, we could give you more info. New subscriber and also fellow homesteading RUclipsr. Haha. I found you all on Instagram. Im glad to have found you. I love how your hubby can just get right in there with them to build a hut. 😊 We have bought some huge pigs since the moment we started raising pigs. Our biggest pig was 700lbs hanging weight and she dressed out at 500lbs. They were a lesson for me that pigs keep growing until we process them. We love those IPPs too. They taste great and they've got such sweet temperaments. I've got an unregistered young boar who I nursed back to health, and he sort of became my baby. Couldn't even castrate him because I love him so much. I am hoping to find him a good home somewhere around here for breeding feeders so he can grow as big as your sweet boar and keep living. We are on the boarder of SE Kansas on the 4 States area.
Just subscribed to you. 🙂👍Yes, we are very happy with the IPP's. They are like puppies, they run to greet you and Kevin will get in there and lay with them and play. They love scratches and attention. I cannot imagine a 700 lb hanging weight, I wonder how the meat changes the bigger the pig? That would be an interesting comparison to do. We are so excited to have our first litters this spring! Thanks so much for watching. It's great to connect with the homesteading/pig breeder community!
That's a nice looking boar!!
That's a big 'ol hog. wow. I wonder how much it weighs.
He is a big guy. We're not sure, but we think he's around 450 lbs.
