I had a 5 year car loan from Wells Fargo and twice a year they sent me a letter saying I let my auto insurance lapse. They wanted to charge me for their insurance even though I have never been without my own insurance even for a minute. I had to mail them proof of my insurance to stop them from charging me for their insurance. I changed insurance companies once and I sent them proof of my insurance before I received their letter. I told them since they were confused every time I renewed my insurance I can't imagine how confused they must be with me switching companies. I read later it's a scam they did to thousands of clients who had a car loan with them. I was so upset with how crooked they are I paid of my 5 year loan in 18 months. I'll never do business with those crooks again.

When Wells Fargo took over my bank, I moved all my money to another bank. My instincts were good because a year later, I got a call from Wells Fargo saying I owed over 200 dollars for a safety deposit box I dropped when I moved all my money. They said they never got any affirmation it was closed so I had to pay it. I refused because I DID drop the box when Wells Fargo took over explicitly because I had been shafted by Wells Fargo once and didn't want to do it again. It took months and finally they sued. I took my receipt to court saying I had closed out the box and the case was dismissed and they had to pay my court fees.
