I am saying this now. I am confused.
Everyone is confused. It's why they have to use a super computer to make the draw.
So I guess groups will in 3s and each team has to play 2 teams from each POT and the 8 teams with the most points earn a spot at R16s. So it’s basically a rumble from the start and all the teams will play top teams starting in October instead of waiting to play another big team around February during the knock outs.
@@LeftHook4__ Arsenal cant even win a single knockout game against Porto let alone a favourite xo they are boned. Even West Ham, Villa, Nottingham Forest have more success in Europe han Arsenal.
@@lilbaz8073 The reason they're using a super computer is because a hand-drawn draw would take too long. They did a test run of a hand-drawn draw and it took them over 3 hours, something nobody wants to watch.

No. Y'all should use your brains. Madrid could be relagated from laliga and would still play in the super league. That's not the case here.
@guta4202 I've come to realize that a portion of the fanbase only really didn't like the superleague because it's different and there'd be more games. Not for any of the other reasons.
@@roychen5235 Yeah maybe I guess but I don't think 2 or 4 more games is too much. The big issue with super league is some clubs just stay in the super league no matter where they finish in their domestic leagues

This is actually going to be a major benefit to the UCL (besides more games for teams). So many better games all across the groups instead of a couple teams getting a buy every year to the knockouts and teams who get a tough draw get a 2nd chance with the playoff.

In my opinion it shouldnt the next draw shouldnt work on where you finish. There shoupd be another draw with all the teams that have qaulified.
Its not right a top prem team have to face tough fixtures in their own league then must go & play an even harder Champions league team . A team should be given extra time to rest & prepare for their league table fixture that requires specific prepping & adjustments .
This is going to affect some teams, because others will have few matches. Waiting until February meaning, this will.also determine the league.

So basically we all have the Super League now, except it's still owned by Uefa and not the clubs like ESL wanted. So We get ESL product just the same, and UEFA keeps the money.

Ngl this sounds very fun. Face 8 different teams from so many different countries, top clubs middling clubs and smaller clubs.
This is what the European Super league was, except the teams got the money. Now UEFA stole the format and keeps money.
@@gslang3489 So true top 20 teams from Europe facing each other week in week out is exactly the same as a competition where you need to qualify for and then face teams of all different varying abilities.
Not to mention as fans we obviously want the money to go to owners of top 20 clubs instead of uefa who reinvest back in the grassroot levels in poorer countries.

I love the new format. The old format has group stages that are so boring that as an Arsenal fan, you don’t play real matches until February, because you just almost spank 2 teams home and away, all you have to do is rest your players for the last 2 matches of the group. Now you can’t

UEFA can now rig the matchups with their "supercomputer" to make sure certain teams get an easy ride if they want to. They will manipulate match-ups to gain the maximum commercial revenue from each tie.

The only thing that has changed is a machine makes up the numbers, instead of a plastic ball with a name in it and the fact that there are more Clubs in the thing.
It is still geared towards the top Clubs with the less so, also-rans.
At the end of the day we are still going to end up with the same old same old Clubs from the Quarter Final onward.
What they should have done is change the name of the Competition, as it is full of anything but Champions and yes, including my Club that finished an unprecedented 3rd and yet are still in Pot 1, while Leverkusen, who won the Bundesliga, not losing one single game, sit in Pot 2.
I would also love to know why they could not have had ALL Clubs from the same League put in together?!
