18 years later and as an Arsenal supporter, I'm still not over that Final...and probably never will be.
I'm liverpool & bayern munich fans i watch this final for me i cant believe how arsenal lose this match with 10 players amazing😢
Arsenal didn't lose Arsenal was robbed in a bright day.
Sad
I'm not arsenal fan, but that year is arsenal should win that, GK got red card and Sol got opening goal, but alumnia is lack of exp with losing all concede at near post. So sad should be Arsenal win that game☹️
@@SaadAltuilaai
Arsenal was never robbed, the red card was a clear red card, Lehmann made a Big misstake
RIP Reyes. Your service will not be forgotten
You realise he KILLED another person!?
He was driving at 116mph and killed his 23 year old cousin.
Why are you treating him like a hero? 🫵🤦♂️

knocking "Galacticos" out of the competition...... 10 men Arsenal scoring first against Barca..... what a UCL season that was.....
Lens Lehman was underrated he made so many good saves after him arsenal never had a quality keeper for years
@@rashidkhalid3970 Losing Jens in Paris really fucked us he was on fire that season and replacing him with Almunia really didn't help
@@johnrockyryan the Ref messed us up, Barca as usual never gets a clean win in anything, the system or Refs always helps them.
What about the ref decision to allow Lehman's save to stand? Against Villareal. @@chiemelalevi4270
@@chiemelalevi4270Also the goal Arsenal scored was from a free kick that wasn't even a foul.
Still hurts 18 years later. Who knows, we could go one step further with team we have now. COYG!!!!!!!
It's on mind like it happened yesterday
Maybe this year could be the year
Mikel has got us Gooners believing again God bless that man
Bayern will destroy arsenal. Wait longer
I think this year the champions is for arsenal good luck
damn, the final is one of the most hurtful moment i've experienced while being an arsenal fan. i didnt sleep at all after that match and still whining over it on my national exam day.
Да есть такое ,я заканчивал школу выпуск 2006
Even me dat I was 6yrs that time
It pains me nw as Arsenal fan
The referee regretted not allowing the Barca goal to stand and not to send lehmann off
O2 Arsenal 06 has a special place in my heart. They were the most attractive team ever in my personal opinion. Shame they lost the final. and im a liverpool fan.
So painful for we Arsenal fan till date ❤😢
So painful for we Arsenal fans till date ❤😢
The most attractive ever 😂😂
yea
That won nothing
The final still hurts, but I'll always be proud of how that team fought and toiled with 10-men against a side that good.
Why didn't he play Bergkamp or Perez in the final?
@@Mossaab-kg3cj5hc5s Pires started but was subbed when Lehmann got sent off.
Bergkamp was very much a rotation player by this point and I guess Arsene chose not to use him.
@@adamappleton4631Why was Bergkamp a rotation player at this point, age?
@@backup6355 that's right. Henry was there, Van Persie was coming through. I think the Champions League final was Bergkamp's last ever game besides his testimonial.
He retired at the end of the 2006 season.
Why did the ref giv lehmann a red card instead of playing advantage and allowing the goal?
Kids need to go back and watch Henry tapes, the man was a monster on the pitch
true, but it´s a shame he didn´t go through for us in that final. He missed several chances and shots.
@maxbustilالحكم هو سبب خسارة ارسنال lo6110
@@maxbustillo6110playing with 10 men was hard enough
He missed so many crucial chances
The sure do need to go watch the tapes, cause watching the highlights, they might come off thinking he was a monster player. The main reason why Arsenal could never advance in the knockout stages, with the exception of that year, was that instead of a world class attacker that could handle the tight spaces and the pressure of those games, they had a glorified counter attacking player of a second class domestic league.
I miss those times. Football back then was more passion and pure class.
Aaaah… one of my worst and Best Night… this is the day I fell in love with Arsenal Football Club.. Bittersweet Night of Football 😢❤
This final still hurts.
That Arsenal team was the best team in that UCL season.
If only Almunia closed his legs.
Closed his legs 🤣🤣🤣
@ekeohurudaniel2064 he means for Barcas second goal😂😂
Barcelona were the best team in Europe that season.
They shut down Madrid, Juventus and Villarreal. Unreal.
What a defense that was
Toure, Campbell, Cole and Lauren.
Watching this when we are now in the quarter finals really hurts.... May we go through this one successfully
Amen ❤ 🙏🏽 😊
amen to that❤❤
Love Henry more than anyone but these clips show how many chances he did miss throughout the competition, not just the final. Still our greatest ever player though. Let’s hope we go one further this year
If you watch full matches you will see every single goal scorer misses multiple chances a game
Henry was an amazing player but he bottled that final These highlights don't show the other misses he had in that game.
Hendri akhirnya merasakan juara ucl tim yg mengubur nya di final ucl 2006 . . .
No players is supposed to score 100% of their chances.
@@dally369 bottled is such an overrated word
Nostalgia overload! Actually makes me emotional, for one this all looks so old and makes me feel so old and two this was a team like no other! None have managed to do what we did! Fingers crossed the gunners will keep up 2024’s form!
This still hurts me to this day. When Eto equalized I went out coz I couldn't take any more. Then I heard screams hoping we scored and won. Ran back only to see Barcelona celebrate. Best memories, Still love arsenal
It’s been 18 years but I still have ptsd from this game.As an Arsenal fan I will never forget it.COYG
I can still remember, The most difficult game was the Villarreal away from home , in the final when Campbell scored somebody I don’t know from anywhere lifted me up as a burnt offering out of excitement
I am truly blessed. Thierry Henry is my childhood hero. We were so lucky to saw him play. Today's kids just can't imagine how genius he was....
He was a cheat too.
Juan Roman Riquelme was on absolute fire, at Villareal, during this era. Not everybody's cup of tea, but i thought he was a majestic playmaker.
Those Henry goals were amazing ... as usual. Coming from a Chelsea fan. What a player! The best the Premier League has ever seen.
Thierry Henry prime + Reyes , van Persie , Ljunberg , Pires , beautiful T90 t shirts for the last season on highbury the best arsenal in history
Good memories (ignoring the final) lets go one better this year🙌
Couldnt forget that season! Beating that Madrid team was the beginning of something magical. Juve and Vieira were defeated in that vengeful envounter. Plus that resilient villareal team. Barca were good, but never as good as the then Arsenal team.
Why do I feel like football those days was more entertainin and more thrilling?
Convinced if we had stayed at highbury for 5 more years after this final instead of moving and selling our best players, we would have won this competition.
7:20. Clean goal

Arsenal masa kejayaan. Bertabur bintang saat tahun itu. Ciri khas tendangan Henry yang maut. Fabregas muda. Dan RIP untuk Reyes.
One crucial part of the game that i dont see alot of people talk about and they should is Etos run which led to Jens getting sent off was actually offside

@@chinedumichael6925 fucking sucks man it really does we winning that match would have changed everything for us and Wenger would have been a Champions League winner PAAAAIINNNN!!!
That year when I was 12 year old,I started to love arsenal
This was the season I fully started supporting the Gunners, knowing Mr Wenger is the owner
Bergkamp could've retired as a champions league winner.
Pires would've stayed for the Emirate era
Henry would've stayed instead of going Barcelona
Young guns like cesc and rvp would've felt more belonging at Arsenal
That 9 years trophyless period might have never happened.
ONLY if we won in Paris. It still hurts.
Just rewatched this after 18 years and I cried after the final like it was now 😔
This year will complete me after the year I’ve had.

18 years later, I haven't forgiven Almunia
The best football night of my entire life, the sweetest of all our five champions league successes. Suffered like hell though.
Терри Анри, Деннис Беркамп, Роберт Пирес.
Игроки мирового класса. Сколько эмоции они подарили нам.
Both goals could’ve been saved.
Definitely
Lens Lehman was underrated he was arsenal last great keeper after seaman
On God man Lehmann in that CL campaign was like a man possessed not conceding a single goal in the knockout stages gets sent of and his replacement was fumbling Almunia *sigh*
Nobody is saving Eto'o one on one bro. But the Belketti goal definitely saved.
Eto'o scored a similar goal 3 years later in Rome vs Manchester United in the 2009 CL final, but this time with the outside of the foot as opposed to the inside. He was deadly.
I just pray we win a champions League for all these legends while still alive...RIP JOSE ANTONIO REYES

As an Arsenal Fan 15 years, I cried like a baby when I rewatched the final 2006.
The Invincible. Forever Legends ❤
People talk about Arsenal's lack of European pedigree but they've had some rotten luck in finals, losing on penalties in 1980 and 2000, the freak last kick of the game Nayim goal in 1995 and of course losing Lehmann early in the CL final here, could very easily have won 5/6 European trophies rather than the 2 (If you include the old Fairs Cup) they have won.
This is the arsenal I loved more than everything
Reyes remember RIP
Arsenal FC Forever
How many clean sheets they got?
Every team on that era is full of star player. Unbelieveable 😮

I’m a United fan but that run to the final was Hollywood. I was gutted when the gooners failed at the last. I always support English teams in the final except when the plastics are there
Henry 😍

Arsenal never trailed in a single game until that final goal. Wow that is an achievement by it's own
Most surprising thing I remember was that Senderos played in most of these games 😂🙈
Her very solid in the UCL run
Was very solid
Great Arsenal team. Bergkamp, Van Persie and Henry to name but 3. What was going on with that home kit though! Was it an anniversary thing??
What a journey.. It's criminal we didn't win it that year.
Henry was scoring for fun until the final. Easy goals on a good day was difficult to score. We were so unlucky. Still hurts till this day.
2024 let's go 🎉
That was our trophy, i still blame Wenger, for playing Ashly cole, yet Flamini had played well in previous matches, also for removing Pires instead of Lumberg. Pires would have scored a goal any time!
Arsenal need someone like henry , a player who can just score out of nothing and doesn't ghost in big games
2000-2008 the best period for football!
Still hurts
I was 10 and the final scarred me for life…
Thierry Henry’s movement and connection with the ball was so fucking elegant man.
THANKS A LOT :D 💖✨❇
If vieira was in this arsenal side then we would have won it comfortably against barca without being robbed 🥺
Hahaha. Delusional.
Yes you are Wright Patrick he could help us
why did even Vieira leave Arsenal in the first place? He was a Legend for the Gunners
Lehmman was the best goalkeeper at that time
Might be this year final Barcelona vs Arsenal 😮
I stop the video at 10:37 as he looks back at the trophy. So many life lessons to learn from that moment and Arsenal in general.

Si hubiera justicia en el futbol, el arsenal deberia tener una champions !!
This still hurts even after All these years and we have not come this close in recent years
But who know Arteta is here to get us there....... 🎉
As a United fan, I was very sad watching the final. They deserved to win
This is pure football/art nothing like the machanic nonsense we're watching now.
football is still good pal
Ajax and Arsenal my two loves
Robbed by crappy officials - eto’o was offside and ref should have given a goal rather than send lehmann off - that ruined it. AFC were the better team. Deserved to win it
They didn’t deserve to win it. Arsenal had more decisions to in their favour than not.
@@maxsch8454 really? The team that didn’t concede a single goal the entire tournament… something no other team has ever done? Go back to bed. Even the ref admitted he made an error sending lehmann off - simple google search numb nuts
This still breaks my heart
Come this time, any limitations that hindered Arsenal not to win,are broken in Jesus Name,,,We gonna win UCL
That AC Milan Game was Insane
Wow 16 years on and Villarreal were there again in semi final. Whether Europa League- 15/16 semi vs LFC, 20/21- winning it. And the semi final vs LFC in CL 21/22- they're a solid European side when they're up and going
Henry and Fabregas were awesome together
Has to be said.
Arsenal were the best team all year. They had the toughest road. All to lose because of a red card. Henry was clutch all year, but missed two chances to put Barcelona away. I remember sitting on my couch almost in tears seeing us lose this game where we were clearly better even with 10 men.
The only time we got to the final is when we played defensive, that tells you everything, every time we tried to play beautiful attacking football we got knocked out,we need to play like in European championship Greece, Portugal won the tournament, efficient in counter attack with tight defense and ugly football.
Arsenal should have won that final. Going 1-0 up with ten men and having a number of chances. You could see they were the better team. Still haunts me. Just imagine how Mr Arsenal feels, T. Henry, that he wasn’t able to do it with the Arsenal.
Mpbappe will never achieve the level of adoration and God like veneration Henry has in North London and even among footballers. Henry played for a city and a club and the fans will forever love him for it...
Idk how we didn't win that year. It still hurt to this day. That red card cost us the CL.
Why players like Henry are never produced nowadays
