If we are talking data lost you need to invest in cloud based storage either on your own file server in at least two locations Manila /California for redundancy or it be hosted that way when your traveling you can upload and download your files as needed and if it’s a crashed hard drive and it’s a mechanical drive the data can possibly still be recovered its costly but possible hope this helps y’all out

Will, It’s such a punk move what you are doing to your so called friend Daniel. You are basically throwing him under the bus by announcing to the world how he messed up. You pretend to not want to mention what happened but you go ahead & tell everybody how badly he messed up. Heck, you might as well blurt everything out now! You use his moment of distress for your own selfish purposes just to make your vlog seem interesting. If you were sincere about your concern for his troubles, you would wait until he himself came out to explain it. Its a punk move for your own gratification. Look at your vlog. Look at Daniels very obvious reluctance to “talk” about it, if not for you shoving the camera in his face with your old routine of constantly trying to be “pa pogi”.

I posted on Danial's Vlog this same advice which is simply, It never hurts to.contact a Taxi Company, hotel, restaurant, etc where something was lost, as I have lost phones on Uber and got them back. I even went back to a restaurant after leaving my stuff there, even after they said no one found it; and someone had placed it behind the counter. I told Danial the importance of backing up files from, cameras, phones, laptop's, etc, to online storage when getting back to a hotel; especially if it's free. Also backing up to multiple hard drives which can fit in a pocket, and having two people or more keep one on them at all times, so if your gear goes missing, you still have your video.. Also having battery packs for location shooting, and surge protectors when using power from an outlet can protect your stuff. I forgot to mention that, if you have any desktop computers, game systems, DVR's etc, that have hard drives but no battery; using a battery backup will help protect your gear. I treat video like any other data, I keep an unedited master, and work from a copy; of which I have copies of. This does mean saving multiple times every time you go to save, but it can save you from loosing valuable video and all the time spent shooting it. At home, I would even hide a hard drive in case someone breaks in and steals your equipment, you still have the video and or other files that could be worth more then your gear. Lastly, they make an electronic tag called Tile that will been when you get to far away, so having this attached to.one of or all of your bags can help keep you from forgetting them someplace. Keep up the great work, and as I told Danial; I have enjoyed seeing the sites, people, culture, food, etc, from the Philippines and other places shown in your videos Keep up the great work.
