All jokes aside, I genuinely felt that whole thing of: People won't like me because of my appearance so I have to be kind. Literally my survival strategy with social anxiety and a history of bullying, especially then with trying to compensate for it with fashion and fitness, plus for me academic performance. It's seriously messed up at times.
Same thing except I didn't get bullied cuz what erold said they don't bully the funny kid but my case I'm short. Short at the age of 14 I'm literally 5 feet aint that something.

I got bullied for being black, I didnt know what racism was at the time since I was so innocent, so my parents moved out 4 times because of this, I dont live in the same country anymore, but now I have social anxiety I try the same tactics as you but dont seem to work since Im a 5/10 on everything, even appearance
I never got bullied for it (In fact I'm not even chubby) But my dad and brother bothered me so much about how much I ate that I unconsciously began to avoid eating food,it got to the point where I wouldn't eat for days or I would eat and then throw up because I felt disgusted with myself.

As a chubby kid growing up, I literally had the same sort of experience. I’ve always been chubby since I was little, but I never seemed to realize I was fat. Around 5th grade I realized my body was different. My classmates realized this too. I remember I walked in one day and the boys were talking about the girls and rating them one to ten. I happened to walk in when they were rating me and this one boy said “she’s so ugly she shouldn’t even be on the scale” and they called me names and what not. One boy said “I mean she’s funny and watches anime but that’s it. She might as well be a guy”. The girls started treating me differently too. As if my only good point was being funny. It was hard. But I ended up becoming motivated to do something about my weight. I started playing sports and I discovered that I actually loved soccer and track. I lost a lot of weight and I was fit by the time highschool came around. I remember the same boy who insulted me ended up asking me to the 8th grade dance and I reminded him of what he had said and kindly denied. I felt great about my body and I was able to meet so many new and great people.

Oof, I can definitely relate to not being taken seriously, and in my case the highest praise id receive from peers is “oh, she’s nice” or “she’s sweet” which are not bad things to be but I feel that sometimes we want to be seen and accepted for all that we are and not just one facet. I guess what I’m trying to say is that if you know who you are and what you have to offer that is good enough.
