    I work in the movie industry making props and costumes. I’ve worked on Star Trek Into Darkness, Walking Dead, Fifth Element and Guyver, among lots of others. I've made pretty much everything out of every material, but foam is my favorite.

    Because of your fantastic videos I started doing a medieval armour for my dog (no worriez, the doggo won't be harmed, it's attached with a simple velcro strip on his leash). The downpart of this all is that I'm not allowed to continue without the girlfriend anymore, she wants to build it herself now, hehe.

    Evil Ted,Just wanted to give a quick reminder to everyone that if you see an awesome build and don't have too much cash that those dollar stores carry foam mats. They might not be big but they work in a pinch.

    Awesome! Were you thinking about making Mass Effect 2 helmet or even full armor? I think that would be pretty cool! Keep up the good work, and thank you man!

    I find that sometimes it's much easier to use cling wrap instead of aluminum foil for template arrangement

    Do you hold seminars? I would love the opportunity to attend a live armor construction seminar, where we bring our own materials and learn hands-on how to construct a set of armor. Perhaps a routine giveaway could be held, to moderate the amount of people who attend?That would be an amazing time!

    Hi Ted I was wondering, What is your preferred method to mount your armor?

    • @EvilTedSmith
      @EvilTedSmith  7 лет назад

      Strapping. You should get Bill Dorans Foamsmith book. punishedprops.com/shop/foamsmith-ebook/

    Hey Ted, I have a question. I was told that people could get jobs as fabricators for game companies and things like that. do you have any tips or suggestions as to where and how I could check that out? like I would like to get a job as a fabricator since making foam armor is one of the few things I'm truely enjoy and I'm actually good at it but I don't even know where to look or apply for one those jobs. any advice you can give me is greatly appreciated.
    Your fan, Jose

      Puertorico2494 Google! I would recommend looking up the companies, going to their sites and look for application pages from there

      My advice is to keep making props and costumes and get good at it, because when that day comes when a Game Company say we would like to see some of your work. You'll want to have an impressive portfolio to show them.

    That actually looked like decent duct tape I find that the duck tape brand is the worst wont even stick to itself.

      @EvilTedSmith  7 лет назад

      Yeah that's true. Can go too cheap with the duct tape.

    Okay - I just put in a suggestion that Costume College invite you to be a teacher this year. They are breaking into the foam construction and other cosplay disciplines this year and I thought they should invite the best. It is being held at Woodland Hills, Ca on July 27th to July 31st this year. Please check them out as well.

      I believe it's (almost?) the same as pvc glue. It's what I use anyway. Superglue also works if you can find it cheap in a dollar store. I made some very sturdy builds with that.

      @EvilTedSmith  7 лет назад

      UK glue Evo-Stick is just like barge in the states.
