  • Killer Whales of the Eastern Tropical Pacific pay a visit to the Orange County Coast and are aggressive towards the dolphins. This is a bit different than our normal scheduled programming at SkidKids, but we are so excited about the footage that we filmed from our drone that we just had to share! Killer whales are found in all the world’s oceans, from tropical
to polar waters and coastal to offshore environments.

I am not one of those animal rights fanatics, but I kinda got the impression that the flotilla of boats was chasing after that pod. Which doesn't strike me as all that considerate.

If that was in WA waters those pleasure boaters would be looking at some hefty fines. The commercial boats were being respectful.

Amazing footage of these beautiful creatures. Now that all of us can share in this encounter in vivid 4K, please join me in saying it's time to back off and not pursue them under power. There is a difference between an encounter and a pursuit (aka hunt). I'm not vegan, I'm pro hunting but, I think it's selfish to pursue these creatures so aggressively especially when they're protecting a calf.

Great footage Blair love orca, nothing like witnessing them in the big blue free, special moments, the pod had a calf so I sure they would be protective but actually very friendly to humans in the water not a single incident between orca and human in our oceans, that's recorded. They are magnificent mammals and thank you for sharing this footage. 🐬 🐳

I used to live on Ocean Vista Drive and my balcony lined up with the creek and I would watch you skim. 1 day I saw a pod of Orcas trying to get a baby calve away from the mother. The mother had the calf on her head to try and keep the Orcas away. These Orcas had bigger dorsal fins than this pod. Cool footage I could whale watch and watch you skimboard out slider windows and I could see deer out my kitchen windows facing The Ranch.

Legally, what distance does watercraft need to maintain from wildlife? I'd report all of them. Beautiful drone footage❤

Seriously messed up that a few of the boaters continued to keep props spinning while whales passed beneath their boats.

How truly lucky you all were to watch these beautiful orcas in the wild! Please stop chasing them. One of the boats actuall went right over the top of an orca, 😨 Propellers can seriously injure , if not kill them and that would be tragic! If you see any whale you are not supposed to get any closer than 200 or 300 feet and definatly cut your boat off. They have 2 babies they are protecting and one of those babies looks very new. Thank you for the GREAT footage!

I've seen a lot of footage of whales and have fish the puget sound for years and see them fairly regularly, but not like this footage.
It looked like A whale family vacation to the North. Here they were lucky enough to come across a bunch of boats moving around on the surface.
It was so great to show junior safety protocols around propellers after some nice local cuisine. Now, of to experience the salmon in Monterey Bay.
They'll have plenty of stories for their whale buddies.

The Dolphins are playing in the bow waves of the boats skimming around, and the Orcas, have learned that that's where they'll
be, while the groups of boats are flying around, and have adjusted their hunting strategy accordingly, using the boats as a hunting ally

Not that rare. Have seen them many times between the mainland and Catalina this time of year. They follow the whales south and back north after they calf. Usually feeding on the babies.

They harassed a pod with boats for how long? And they had a baby with them ? When they tear off the rudders, gee, I hope they can hear me laughing. (Not referring to the beautiful drone footage which was fine. Just don’t want people who take harassing footage to get a platform. Maybe you could consider that.)

Love the Drone footage but it's definitely not legal to be around the wildlife and follow them around like that you can stress them out and it interferes with their natural wildlife movement and ways of life so that could have been a big huge fine or jail time for those people depending on how they want to take it because yeah you cannot follow around and stress out Wildlife like that or impede their movements or impede their natural way of life... all those people in boats and not one of them knows that it is against the law to do that with wildlife in the ocean... some people just aren't fit to own boats... great footage from the Drone though, absolutely amazing
