    Thanks it’s the 3rd time I’ve had the intake off, not the easiest truck to test compression , Used Mobil 1 since it was new, the last engine I had fail was was a 84 Cressida
    The injectors are out
    Almost seemed it was fouling the plug, but no smoke and no oil usage,
    I removed mobile 1, now 10/40

    I can’t get my evap system cleared up. If I put gas in it, it comes spraying back out. I have a new canister, new purge valve, new pressure sensor.. no dice. I’m about to bypass the canister cuz I need my car and I’m tired of dicking around… but if anybody has any tips or info for me, I’m listening.

    i have an 06 pathfinder. just popped a p0462 fuel level sensor out of nowhere. is this common? seemed to happen after i just put 5 gallons in. are the floats known for sticking?

  • @gregney5415
    @gregney5415 4 года назад +1

    Is it fairly easy to replace the vent valve on top of the canister? I’ve only had my 2013 frontier for about 6 months and it’s pretty much always had the engine light on. Think it was code p0446 or something like that. Takes like 30 mins to fuel up my truck cuz it clicks off every half gallon due to the fuel vapors. Think it’s the vent valve but I’m not real mechanically inclined.

    What is the purpose of those I nder the rear that you pointed out. I'm currently not getting any prime from my fuel pump. Would that have anything to do with my no prime issue. I turn the key and i hear nothing from my pump.....also no crank but it tur s over yet no crank

    • @ScottiesHobbies
      @ScottiesHobbies  2 года назад +1

      Sounds like your fuel pump has gone bad. A Mickey Mouse away to check is to have somebody spray carb cleaner or brake cleaner into the intake while somebody tries to start it. If the vehicle starts up I would put money on your fuel pump being bad. Be super careful. The spray can back fire if you have some bigger problems.
      Also try hitting the fuel tank with a rubber mallet while somebody cranks the vehicle. You might get lucky and get it to work for a little bit.

      @@tpridgen11 ok. If you spray carb cleaner in the Intake and nothing happened.. I would start to think you don't have spark. Basics are does it have air/combustion? Does it have fuel? Does it have spark. Since you manually added fuel and got nothing, what is next? Spark.
      I don't recall if that truck has spark wires but if it does, use a spark tester to see if you have spark. Now if you have light spark or its very erratic, you might have a crank sensor or cam sensor out. If no spark, a coil or computer problem.
      When I get home I will take a look at some pictures and see if I can find a fuel pressure access port. And recommend something better.

    Hi,,, Great video's. Would appreciate your comment, driving me crazy, I had a PO301 fly miss fire, pulled it apart and put in new coils and plugs, and put it together ran perfect for 3 hours and the miss came back. Truck has 200k and was using mobil1 and 0-20, pulled it apart replaced #1 coil and plug, ran perfect for a hour than the miss came back. I drained the mobil1 and put in 10-30 do you think bad cly or valve anything else I can do, or motor time.,,,,,, Thanks Mike

    • @ScottiesHobbies
      @ScottiesHobbies  5 лет назад

      I would recommend to start by checking compression. Make sure you're working with a good motor. You could also have a misfire due to improper air fuel ratio. If you have a clogged injector or a stuck open injector you can get misfire codes too.

    So are you showing these locations to chase down a certain code? I'm trying to solve a p1283 and there are dozens of possible causes.

    • @ScottiesHobbies
      @ScottiesHobbies  5 лет назад +1

      Looks like that is a lean condition code. I would start off by checking for exhaust leaks between the exhaust manifold and the air fuel ratio sensor. If that is all good then I would start looking for vacuum leaks. If that is all good that I would start thinking that the air fuel ratio sensor itself is malfunctioning.

      @@ScottiesHobbies The weld on the secondary cat where it mates up to the flange up front popped. It's completely separated itself and is purring. Hoping it's an easy sleeve weld at the local muffler shop or I'll have to RockAuto a secondary cat. Since the break is before the secondary cat, maybe I've found the culprit.
      But from what I read, it may just be the first of many to come. Thoughts?

    • @ScottiesHobbies

      Depends on how much money you have to spend.. I don't know if the trans will bolt up. I am not much of a swap guy with imports. But I do not see any interchangeable parts for a G35 and this truck. If its possible to bolt up to the transmission, you will need a ecu with a harness. I think the trans controls the same if you swap the ecu? If you are trying to do this swap to save you $$, don't do it. If you got $$ to waste, anything is possible if you try hard enough.
