    Great review and riffage! I have the black Snakebyte...it's killer!! They used to come with Sperzel locking tuners about 5 years ago when they were first introduced. I noticed that in the Anderton's video. They flip the guitar over at about 30 seconds in and you can see that they are Sperzels. Now-days, obviously, they come with LTD locking tuners (which are every bit as good) but probably cheaper for them since they are made "in house".

    Great review dude. Thanks for answering my 2 part question on your last Q&A. As for differences in ESP to LTD Snakebytes, ESP has a one piece mahogany where as the LTD Has a 3 piece. Did you know that ESP have stopped making the gloss black Snakebytes? They one come in satin black now. You and I have discontinued Snakebytes (so they will probably only go up in value now!). Keep up the good dude 🤘👍

    It is lightweight and balanced, and that makes it very comfortable. I have a '93 Gibson Explorer and it's quite heavy. Also have the Epiphone '84 Reissue Explorer, and that's lightweight like the Snakebyte. Both the Gibson and the Epiphone are thicker, and the Snakebyte is thin (better).

    Hey man i'm looking into getting a pair of the het set, as i cant afford the guitar :'( just curious how long does the battery typically last before needing replaced, and do you have to remove the battery after each session? I would assume yes on the 2nd question but hey i wanted to be sure lol

    • @mattriffmaster
      @mattriffmaster  7 лет назад +1

      +Mike G hey bro!! Erm typically they last about 100 hours of playing that's what I've always been told. And you don't need to remove the battery at all until you need to change it but always remember to never leave your guitar plugged if you're not playing it because it will drain the battery dude

    • @xMinnji
      @xMinnji 7 лет назад +1

    Can you comment about the finish of the black satin color? The white looks like it's a regular paint protected by a layer of clear coat. The black satin looks cool, but my worry is about how durable that finish will hold up. Do you have any comments on this?

    • @dknollRX7
      @dknollRX7 7 лет назад +1

      Nevermind, I just realized yours is the gloss black. When I look on their site, I only see gloss white or satin black. I really prefer black, but worry about the satin finish durability. I'd love a gloss black if I could find it.

    Great review! Worth noting to those looking to purchase this guitar in 2022 and beyond, they've discontinued the glossy black and have since started making ones with a SATIN finish.
    Personally this killed any interest I had in the instrument, because satin finishes end up looking like straight garbage after a month or two of steady playing.

    Really nice playing man. I'm looking for a recommendation on buying a guitar for mainly playing metal. I'm looking at the ESP LTD James Hetfield Signature Snakebyte, ESP LTD James Hetfield Signature Iron Cross, and lastly the ESP E-II Eclipse. I really like Metallica (as you can tell from my profile picture) and I'm looking at playing songs from them mainly. I'm only 15 and have very limitted knowledge besides my research so a recommendation from a seasoned player would be much appreciated. Earned a sub and rock on man.

    I want to buy this for my son who plays a ton of metal solos. He tends to use a whammy bar for some of his solos but this guitar doesn't have one. Do you think that limits anything not having one? I just wanted to ask a guitarist. That's the only thing holding me back from ordering is the question of the whammy bar

    • @mattriffmaster
      @mattriffmaster  Год назад +1

      A whammy bar won’t hold him back or limit him other than making cool noises ! They’re fun but can be a pain when it comes to re stringing unless you take it to a professional ! But it’s not completely needed for metal solos as tons of metal guitarists rip killer solos without one !

  • @nickcaptain13
    @nickcaptain13 6 лет назад

    Hey matt,I'm checking the ht metal 60.. so your old videos came to my mind... so, as you know i have the ID260.. and i use it as power amp for my triaxis... but i like the blackstar itself too.. I'm thinking though of swapping the ID 260 for the ht metal but i see the metal has only OD not super crunch.. is the OD1 of the metal like the id OD1? OR do you believe if i like the ID super crunch, the OD1 of the ht metal 60 will give me that Metallica tone that id super crunch gives me? because besides triaxis, i want a complete amp too in case triaxis gets damaged as its old... ID, I like the bright clean and distortion i use the super crunch.. i just thought that REAL 6l6 plus the celestion will make my triaxis sound better..but what about the sound of the blackstar amps on their own?

    • @mattriffmaster
      @mattriffmaster  6 лет назад

      +nickcaptain13 the HT Metal is killer you’ve got OD1 and OD2 and clean with a voice switch I personally wouldn’t mess around with triaxis and shit dude with Blackstar that’s all you need mate

    • @nickcaptain13
      @nickcaptain13 6 лет назад

      yeah i love it but when im live, i cant control it with midi.. thats why im still messing with triaxis... i mean, i want real tubes, but still easiness of controlling... i really dont know what type of footswitch ht metal has... does it support anything else than its own pedal? because if not, its bad.. and it kills me cause i want it so much.. and yeah i know i need blackstar... its the only brand that moved me as me being a mesa fun.. but blackstar made me to love 2 amps haha.. but still i dont know.. if the metal 60 had midi... damn i would easily pick it up.. i dont know if it supports relay or something... because i want some chorus in the clean but what about the distortion that i want it off? press 2 buttons? not that comfortable...

    • @mattriffmaster
      @mattriffmaster  6 лет назад

      +nickcaptain13 I’m confused ha ha if you want a kick ass valve tone get the ht Metal it’s great for heavy stuff and the cleans are beautiful mate just stick a delay and Chorus pedal down and you’re sorted dude

    • @nickcaptain13
      @nickcaptain13 6 лет назад

      yeah, i want a chorus in clean.. but when i want to go back to distortion, the chorus is not needed.. so, i want to press a single button, and with that single button my amp to go from clean to heavy and the chorus off... that cannot be done with the ht metal footswitch... they only way to change channels to the ht metal 60, is with its own footswitch... that footswitch controls only the ht metal... so i need the blackstar footswitch, plus another switch for effects.. and thats bad.. really inconvenient

    • @mattriffmaster
      @mattriffmaster  6 лет назад

      +nickcaptain13 yeah that’s something I dunno about dude it seems a lot of effort ha ha unless you just get a ht Metal and get an ABY pedal so play the heavy stuff which the ht Metal and switch to the other one for your cleans which will have all your effects on ready

      +JefferSun A. The het set is probably the best sounding EMG set I personally have heard and played they are so amazing you get that drive of and active pick up but still the clarity and punch of s passive and it just works amazing with my tone besides it being James Hetfield signature set on its own they are just amazing very versatile aswell

    Matt, for metal orientated music, is having a whammy bar on the guitar necessary or not? Commentary please.

    • @daksxnville

      Absolutely not, unless you plan on using dive bombs and such, but its not necessary

      Matt The Riff Master it’s just I ordered the Satin Black version yesterday. I personally really love that version. But I almost ALWAYS see James with the Snow White version... makes me doubt if it was a good choice to buy the Satin Black one. But I ain’t much a fan of white so.... what do you think is the best choice
      (BTW massive fan of your channel👍🏻)

      Matt The Riff Master actually you should buy it or trade it for the glossy black one, you got the badass black color but not the problems with the reflection! 🤔🤔🤔

      The fact it's a signature hetfield pickup will sell millions not to mention the fact there are non metal players who love them just for their variety of tones. I would call that a win
