The deck building was really cool here. I had no idea dark tutalage (spelling?) could be a decent card but proved me wrong when it won some of those games. Early concede towards the end is what it is. I have done the same before. My own arena open totally bombed out. Nice 500 dollar win!
Tutelage is pretty good specifically if you dont end up against r/w or r/b or a genreal aggro deck. Since the card advantage will help in the long run and you can sac it to bargain when its to much of problem. Obviously scrying to minimise its damage also helps.
Tutelage is a good side board card. So unless you play Bo3, you usually don’t pick it while drafting. That’s all.

Gutsy decision it was...
23:17 - after seeing that board I would have switched the Freeze in Place in - or perhaps had it in the starting deck, because scry 2 is good (some tuber said that almost as good as drawing a card - which may be right).
Dark Tutelage -- I think Kenji had the right idea that sideboarding it in once hawing lost a match is good as you might have to take a risk to win against a deck you lost to as DT is high risk but high reward also.. Compare to quick study -- need to have it run at least for 3 turns to be more card advantage and then at what cost? Maybe something like 5 life on average and hawing to use the mana for something not attacking or blocking earlier is additional disadvantage (usually).. Scry and bargain could make it bit better - food too of course.. And I suppose the average life cost for a card at random is not actually that bad. I'we been happily drawing cards from Call of the ring at 2 life per card (but Call of the Ring is kinda wort hit because the ring tempts - especially with Nazgul).
Not sure if 2/2s are ideal for holding rats.. Most rats come from 3 mana spells - so you can have a bigger creature in time to block them than a 2 drop.. And against Rat Out - you want more toughness than 2 if you're blocking a 1/1 and they have another Rat Out..
BTW - isn't it funny how bad Ratcatcher Trainee is at catching rats.. You cannot block a rat safely with it as his first strike does not work when blocking.. But you sure can "race" a rat deck with the Trainees - if you have rat out's too even Lord Skitter and his butchers can't block safely the Trainees either.

my opponent was at 11 and I attacked with 3 creatures, they blocked one thinking I was dumb. Then I cast the 3 sugar rushes I had in my hand and killed them while drawing 3.
Toow, we got "dafeet", though i do think that 'conceiding' in any game with real stakes is a bad thing to do... always let them have it and do it.
Still though, GRATS on the $500,- wins :)

0:30 - Kellan is not bad ... but how many aura or equipment _cards_ this set even has? Roles are aura's - but not aura cards. Irencrag can become an equipment - but it's not equipment card in the library. Bestial Bloodeline and the Battlegarb .. what else (if any)?
Ah yes - Cooped Up is a common aura card. And there's some good bonus sheet auras in red and white. Hmm.. Is kellan abomb or not.. Would be stellar with Dragon Mantle - but I'm not sure how the rarities actually work with the "bonus slot".. What's the changes of getting a particular card from those and do the rarity even matter there?
11:23 - some say that scry 2 is almost as good as draw a card. True?
12:37 - there's the dragon mantle.. And an apple - is apple not good? "Borrow" a token and bargain it away - if you got the mana and still got the bargain card at hand when you get the apple... Hmm..
19:49 -- Use the Transmuters adventure!!!! Nooooo.... read the Dreadknights ability.
Ah but the opponent did not have a black source showing at that point .. and it's not like cursing the Dreadknight gets rid of it permanently as they can always chump -So I guess Kenji played correctly after all - but saving the Candy Grable might have been better. Darn that Dreadknight seems -- pretty busted actually. the Freeze in Place might be the answer to it...
when we see the next upload and he has 180k gems we'll know what happened to the $
