Tina is an unlikely changemaker. As a daughter of refugees she experienced tragedy upon tragedy early in life. But that didn't stop her from breaking through the expectations that were placed on her to pursue her dreams in becoming a State Senator.

First and foremost, I am very proud of you! Your story is that of an inspirational drive. To have gone so far as to becoming a minority whip is a beautiful tale of its own. Our society need to grasp the blessings and the gifts of our nation like you. Tina Maharath, after speaking with you today, and after watching your videos, I have no doubt that you will bounce back in becoming the senator of the 3rd district of Ohio again. Please, know that the beautiful work you have started remains for you to finish upon your return as a senator. Thank you for you service.
