- Hi and welcome to the crafty blinders van life channel
It's time to do something about the road noise from the Maxxfans fitted to our selfbuild crafter campervan roof
To allow the Maxxfan to be sold in the EU the fans must comply with EU rules this means the fans must vent all the time this causes a lot of wind noise when driving, however Maxxfan have a fix for this the full seal upgrade, and we are fitting one today

Many thanks for the video! Just fitted mine now. Like an idiot, chose the windiest night possible and it was going dark, but still an easy enough job. Watching your video made it far easier than just having the instructions. Cheers, from South Cumbria.

Cheers Sam, great video, I’ve just ordered the seal kit, my van is still empty so I hadn’t noticed any extra road noise but for £14.50 and 5 minutes 👍
It works a treat I'm fitting my second one tomorrow if the weather stays fine
Ordered this kit from Ebay. £19.50 now, that's inflation I guess, but will be worth every penny if it sorts out the wind noise. Sounds like I have a window open and it rattles. Really glad I found your instruction video, will save me a load of time. I've used quite a few of your videos during my Sprinter build. Cheers Sam!
It will definitely reduce the wind noise wish I had done mine sooner
Was going to get a seal but seen gadget John's video which failed to work so didn't bother . Ordered now lol comes Thursday... keep up the good work
I've not seen his video I can't see how it would not work as the standard set up has no seal other than the two short pieces there may be something on the roof that's making a wind noise

Great vid Sam... You have cleared the stock out in the UK of seal kits.. I'm looking at alternative seal/gaskets that do the same..👍🏾

We notice a massive difference since we fitted hours no more draughts or roads noise we also fitted some tweeter above our heads to compensate taking out the bulk head what a difference its made to the sound
@@TheCraftyBlindersvanlife they bounter marra seals it right up. I've heard a few people talking about the wind noise from them. I haven't fitted mine yet I am waiting to get My jumbo transit back then I can start building it. just having recon enging fitted at the min.

I don't get the must have others means of ventilation either.!!! As before the vent was fitted there was no hole in the roof 🤣 so no venting!!!

What’s the type of seal that you used???, I actually haven’t fitted my fan’s YET, so want to do this before I put them in.

Have 2 maxxfans and don't notice any wind noise at all. All a bit personal preference i guess.
I guess it is our van is very quite and the road noise stood out
