  • Restoration of a rusty old Barlow pocket knife I had laying around in the garage. I hope you enjoy as I restore this rusty old knife.
    ABOUT THE TOOL
The Barlow knife was invented in England, but became popular in the United States in the 18th and 19th century. A number of Americans have claimed to make the Barlow knife. This knife was created in the USA (as stamped in bade) Overall this turned out as an AWESOME RESTORATION!
    THE RESTORATION PROCESS
I dismantled the knife, brushed it up a bit and then soaked it in Evaporust. (First time using Evaporust and it seemed to work great…very pleased with this rust remover). After rust was removed, I cleaned up the parts and began to sand them down to give them a fresh new mirror finish look. I made new hand grips but using a two part epoxy and some blue pigment to give it a nice color. I put the knife back together, put a sharp edge on the blade and the restoration came to life.
