A Plague Tale: Requiem Gets a Gameplay Overview Trailer and a Playable Demo at Gamescom
A Plague Tale: Requiem, the sequel to the critically acclaimed A Plague Tale: Innocence by Asobo Studio and Focus Entertainment, revealed a Gameplay Overview Trailer. The game will also be present at Gamescom from August 24-28, with a demo to play at the event on the same dates. Additionally, Focus Entertainment will launch its “In Focus” behind-the-scenes video series on August 30 to present the making of A Plague Tale: Requiem, ahead of its release on October 18!
New horizons and new tricks
Embark on Hugo and Amicia’s next journey and venture south of 14th century France, before setting sail to a mysterious island out in the Mediterranean Sea. Brave a terrible fate and find a cure for Hugo’s illness thanks to Amicia’s new resources-including the use of alchemy to manipulate fire and the long-distance power of a crossbow, but also her cunning use of terrain and ability to wrestle out of an enemy’s grasp. Choose to strike from the shadow or to unleash hell, with the help of Hugo’s new powers: to perceive surrounding enemies’ movements while moving stealthily, and to manipulate hordes of rats to decimate entire squads of soldiers.
Play a demo at Gamescom!
Attendees will get to play one of the first chapters of the game at Gamescom from August 24-28.
The public will find a demo at Microsoft’s booth (Hall 8.1 Stand B-051 - C-058). It will offer the Gamescom visitors the opportunity to play the same level shown at the TriBeCa Festival for those who missed it online last June.
Another demo will be shared with the press attending Gamescom, letting them experience the level seen in the Extended Gameplay Trailer hands on.
The tale behind the game
Finally, Focus Entertainment launches its “In Focus” behind-the-scenes video series on August 30, sharing exclusive interviews with developers from Asobo Studio, the team behind A Plague Tale: Requiem.
A Plague Tale: Requiem will release October 18 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC and in Cloud Version on Nintendo Switch. The game will also be available Day One with Xbox Game Pass for Console, PC and Cloud. Amazing job from all the Devs! Honestly from a graphical and presentation standpoint it looks better than many rushed AAA games with insane budgets nowadays..

They absolutely hit the nail on the head with the balance between looking fantastic and incredibly optimized at the same time. These AAA titles need to take some damn notes.

I love Amicia, genuinely one of the best examples of a strong female character. She isn't naturally amazing at everything and genuinely struggles through the first game to gain her skills and develop as a person. The second game is clearly building on her past experiences and shows how much she has grown in capability since then.
A shame Marvel and others don't take notes.

@@Solus147 The only difference between Amicia and other more mainstream examples accues of "wokeness" is that Amicia is not yet that famous and the toxics are sleeping on her for now.
plus her voice actor seriously outdid herself in the performance!!

The first one was ok gameplay was a bit slow but I hope the next one it plays out slightly faster action and improved combat play

looks amazing when you see the ship scene it makes it look like a big game is ahead of us. it reminds me of assassins creed and tomb raider 2013. i will revisit part 1 when part 2 out.
You guys are the hope of gaming. Smaller studios breaking into the mainstream is what we need. Show people it's still possible to make fantastic games with true passion in them. No loot boxes, mìcrotransactions and all of that bullshit. Story, Acting, Music, Graphics, Atmosphere, Gameplay, this is what we need, you guys will prove games can be art.
@黒い川 You're right,however this studio has also made wonderful games(Rattatouile ps 2 i'm sure it's theirs). Let's just enjoy their good moments,but I do wish those guys well.
@黒い川 I really wish people could understand why this happens. It all leads back to shareholders and their imppossbile demands for never ending growth. If a studio is not beholden to shareholders it can make art.

@@RyLifeWeekly You have the slingshot but in general can only kill the enemies from stealth and its mostly used for puzzle solving. I started playing it after seeing this trailer and its a very good game and the sequel looks like it will be even better.

First game was really fun, so sequel is must have for everyone who played 1. Im also glade they skipped last gen so we get better graphcs and gameplay 🔥
First game was ok but this one just got more fun and interesting and dark and guiltyness that I fancy pushing soldiers in rat piles and burn them with fire 🔥 lol 🤣
loved the first game, can't wait for this one, Amicia is an awesome strong protagonist, and I see her up there with other cool female protagonists like Lara Croft!
Watching this again for the umpteenth time, it really strikes me more and more that Amicia looks like a bona fide action hero in this trailer. I feel like playing the first game was essentially experiencing her origin story, with the end of the game showing you what she's become and how she's matured. This trailer takes that image of Amicia and amps it up to the next level. I love that!

I have high hopes for this one since the first game was such an amazing experience and honestly one of the best games I’ve ever played. Also is it just me or do their faces look really different from what they looked like in the first? Since its only 6 months after the events of innocence I dont really get why they look so different but oh well the world looks fantastic. Without a doubt my most anticipated game of 2022.

better graphics maybe? idk Amicia looks kind of different from the last game that I thought this game takes place a few years after or something. Even Lucas' voice sounds more deeper and mature here than from the last game 1:46
Yeah, it's probably just a slight graphical redesign. Amicia looks more realistic, but uglier if that makes sense lol. I think her hair looks like it has less volume. Hugo on the other hand looks way better in every aspect. Overall I really like the redesign and will probably quickly adjust to it when I actually play the game

Looks fantastic - can't wait! It may not be the same voice actor but the knight who says 'get used to it... this is your life now' sounds like the guy who voiced Justice (absolutely loved the character and voice acting) from Dragon Age Awakening. The English dub voice actor who voiced Nicholas in the first Plague Tale also voiced characters in Dragon Age too.

The first is one of my personal gaming surprises. Everyone seemed to love it but it looked kinda boring. I was so wrong and I won’t repeat that mistake.

Yeah, when I got the first game back in 2019, I was blown away by its story and setting. It’s more linear than most games tend to be, but that’s not a bad thing.

I was late to playing the first one but saw it on game pass, finished it last night and then only just found out they've been making a second one which is dropping in two months, i'm so excited hahaha.
Definitely play the first one its amazing and one of the best games ive ever played. The sequel is without a doubt my most anticipated game of 2022.

The first one is truly a masterpiece of storytelling and gameplay execution. The Bubonic plague is just the backdrop, it’s like Assassin’s Creed but on a smaller scale. The linearity is a breath of fresh air for 2022.

why did you guys change Amicia's face, her face in the first game is much prettier and the context of the game few month after the events of Innocen shouldn't change her face because she grew up for few month or some other reason

From the beginning I thought we'd find a cure for little Hugo from the first part to the last breath I thought this story would have a happy ending, but unfortunately it wasn't like that.The end of the story of little Hugo has destroyed me so much that i can't get out of my head his kind voice and I can't play another game for a while.This great game I would recommend to anyone.Great story, characters, voices, music and great graphics.This game deeply touched me and will always have a special place in my heart...

Looks more like a DLC for the past game. If I was a developer I would have expanded this. Maybe another plague like frogs or ravens. Amicia would've fallen in love with the main villain without knowing he also can summon a plague.

This game looks so good! I loved the first game and the second game is definitely my favorite one in the Plague Tale series! I hope Asobo Studio makes a third game soon. I can't wait to see what they do in a third game for a Plague Tale and to see where they go for a third game if they plan on doing a third one for The Plague Tale series! Focus Entertainment is amazing at making The Plague Tale games along with Asobo Studio too! They did such a fantastic job with both of these games and they definitely went above and beyond with A Plague Tale Requiem! Way to go!

I just realised that Amicia will eventually have her hair cut. She sports a bun instead of braids. Wonder if the Inquisition did that.
The first game is one of my favorite games and I am impatiently waiting for this game, and I hope that this part has improved in terms of gameplay compared to the previous part, and more puzzles have been added to the game, and I wish The game should have more boss fights.

Finished Innocence a few minutes ago, ready to dive further into The Plague Tale. The first game(A Plague Tale: Innocence) took me 12 hours to complete, and wasn't that hard to complete, but the story can leave marks on the soul for sure. That said, I am all in for the elevated the age rating and can't wait to experience an even more brutal, exciting and horrifying story unfold in Requiem.

I wouldn’t want this game to be rushed if it’s not ready. Innocence was such an incredible experience for me and I want them to take their time to deliver it again. Just my opinion

I cannot wait for this game. The first one came outa nowhere and really impressed me. The follow up is my most anticipated of 2002.
It makes me happy to see high quality singleplayer games with a focused story, presentation, and tight gameplay still being released these days. Open world games can be amazing (RDR2 for example), but so many of them are just massive and soulless, littered with pointless collectables and abysmal """""RPG"""""" gameplay based around Diablo style loot. It feels good to see this coming out after the excellence that was Innocence. Thank you!

I would def recommend if you enjoy games like last of us or god of war 2018, except plague tale involves more stealth and almost puzzle like enemy encounters

Definitely a huge contender for Game of the Year and I sincerely hope this game gets it because the Last game was phenomenal and it went below many players eyes back in 2019.

My favourite part from the trailer was when Amicia looked at Hugo and said "You know what Hugo? Maybe the real plague tale requiem were the friends we made along the way" Literally gave me chills 💯 Definitely one of the games of all time
