I remember around 1996-97 wanting the 84 Star (because Beckett had it priced at $3,500 and 86 Fleer at $1,500).
It was the dealers who swayed the 86 Fleer to being the #1 Jordan card back then because of more supply (and the fear of 84 Star counterfeits). Every dealer, every local card shop had an 86 Fleer as that was their crown jewel modern card to show off. I have to admit that the hobby/dealers swayed me away from the 84 Star because of that back then.

The pack pulled stance is bogus, as you noted in this video. And to be frank, so is the aesthetics aspect. Sure the 86 is a better looking image (though taken from the same exact game, by the same photographer as the 84 Star) but I can list off a dozen other rookie cards which have far less attractive images than the 84 Star, and people have crowned those the preeminent rookies of those players.
The worst offenders, 2020 Anthony Edward’s Prizm (pick any other Ant RC and you’ll have a better image. The 2018 Trae Young Prizm, 2013 Giannis Prizm rookie (Giannis Select RC is far more rare and attractive).
2003 Lebron Topps Chrome RC…all of these cards have really poor images that are inferior to 84 Star, IMO.
The fact that the 84 shows Jordan in a different light further illustrates how little we knew of the player he would be one day become, making it that much cooler, but that’s just the long time hobbyist in me speaking. Rant over. 😆

Things change and evolve in the hobby with people's interests. The rookies you listed might not stay the "grail" of their era. In all my years being in the hobby, I've learnt that there are many idiots in this hobby. These same idiots are also the ones crowning these rookies. There's simply not very many educated people in the hobby when it comes to knowing true scarcity. While the Star Company Jordan cards are all rare, let's face facts: NOBODY wanted these cards decades ago when they were cheap. This is what I call the stupid people in the hobby. Why? They follow trends and cant think for themselves. They cant think outside the box and look for true scarcity on their own. They let value dictate what they purchase. They simply don't want anything until the ship has sailed. They all chased the 1986 Fleer for years, but now, everyone suddenly wants Star. To further prove my point: look at the Star Company Griffey rookies....why haven't they budged in value? Nobody wants it, because value hasn't exploded on it. Again, it goes back to idiots letting value dictate what they purchase. A Jordan Star rookie goes for thousands, but a Griffey Star rookie goes for a few dollars? It doesn't make sense.

Obviously, the person who sold the Jordan sold it to himself or a friend and is cleaning his dirty money. I'm sure that this man deals in art and other valuable collectibles.. This is how rich collectors clean their dirty money. As long as the buyer remains private, Uncle Sam can't trace the money. As long as this continues, cards will go through the roof, just like paintings and sculptures. This is a big day for the card collector. @@johnwayne9828 That's your opinion. Seems to me that the hobby has spoken (regarding Jordan rookies) and the prices reflect that. Every collectible that's valuable today had to start from somewhere. They just didn't produce cards that instantly became five-figure items overnight. Not even the 1986 Fleer set with Jordan was even an in-demand card when it first came out. While I do agree that buying any item for five-figures is very risky, buying Star Griffey rookies for four-dollars isn't breaking the bank. It's actually much cheaper than I can buy any of his mass-produced rookies for, so why not? Nothing to lose and everything to gain.
