It's awesome that you're getting introduced to battle rap. So much of catching the bars is understanding the different ways they're spitting. So are heavy performers, some are what they call heavy punchers (which means lots of bars back to back), some of them spit "real rap", some of them are dope freestyle and rebuttal artists. And a lot of what they're saying are current event bars too. Look at someone like the best of Geechi Gotti, or Rum Nitty, the best of Charlie Clips. Those will hit hard too.
