I was a freshmanstudent at DePaul u law school in the loop. I had heard about the shooting on my way to class. After parking and going into class l left and returned to the parking lot got in my car and drove to west Madison or Monroe past the scene of the murders. No police no people just silence. I am 84 years of age and have practiced law since1972. I can remember that Dec 4th evening in 1969 as if it were yesterday.

I grew up with Fred Hampton jr. Good brother of mine and when I was young and Fred told us what happened to his pops I always felt some type of way about the police but after seeing the movie I got a crystal clear understanding on what we were up against back then and today.

Fred Hampton stood for power to the people, without division. Saying black power isn't a salute to Fred nor is it following his revolution. His revolution was a rainbow coalition, where everyone came together because he understood that everyone was oppressed and not just us so called black people.
The date is wrong on this. Fred Hampton and Mark Clark were murdered on December 4th, 1969.

I appreciate this video I remember my parents telling me about Fred Hampton. They grew up in the projects on the westside of Chicago not too far from where the murder happened I remember seeing this film when I was in high school in the 90s I had a black history teacher who showed us this . And I remember him saying Long live chairman Fred.

I most definitely would be watching this movie. I also got a chance to talk to the lawyers that represented Fred Hampton's family in Chicago the law office are located in bucktown on Milwaukee avenue on the top floor I'm a Chicago native.

After all this time still no one asks, what was the purpose of the police going to Fred Hampton's place of residence in the first place when there was no reason... especially in the early am when they knew ppl would be asleep. Only one reason, to ambush and to kill anything with life on the other side of the doors and walls...
They claim they were serving a search warrant for illegal firearms. The bigger question is, if that’s all they were up to why instruct their informant to drug Fred Hampton? Why is it that 99 out of the 100 shots fired were by the police? And the only Panther shot fired was by reflex after being shot. How can they justify shooting someone at point blank range as they are fast asleep in their bed? How is that lawful? 🤔

Little did any of us know, that he was an informant for the government. In the 80's O'Neal, jump out of his car on the expressway, killing himself. Hanahan, never recovered politically. He ran for alderman and did poorly. He lived in a small townhouse, on the northwest side. He never got the big home or the fame that he was seeking. I heard, he was planning on running for governor.
