Very good video for newcomers like myself. Basic yet beautifully instructed step by step for each procedure in regards to loading and unloading. Although, I would've liked a mention about jams, the different types of jams, and which I can fix myself and which ones I should call the range officer for. Stuff I'm sure to find myself but maybe for the less enthusiastic a foot note for them.
just raise your hand at a range shoot on any problem so they know .. they are there to help .. i was at a CMP shoot and had a mag jam on a box mag Russian rifle 91/30 mosin nagaunt .. just laid the rife down and raised my hand .,. RO came over .. oh crap .. no prob .. let everyone else finish the shoot .. then we got the pliers out to free my mag .. and we went on with the shoot .. its a little embarrassing , but at a range with a RO and you have a problem just lay the gun down and flag them down so they know and proceed with them ..
One big thing they teach us here in Australia is yes, take your finger away from the trigger and apply the safety, but never assume the safety can’t fail. The safety is just another step to stop an accidental discharge but a safety can fail as well mechanically. Always point the fire arm in a safe direction even with the safety on and de-chamber all rounds when you are not ready to fire. If your hunting obviously having one in the chamber is a given but then assume it could discharge have the barrel pointed in a safe direction down range. If your moving, empty the chamber and reserves.
After sighting in at 60 feet, I could easily cover 5 shots with a nickel! Truly a pleasure to shoot! Scope was easy to adjust for eye relief. Only problem the varmints must have seen it delivered lol!Update: So impressed with shot groups at 30 yards I purchased a Hammers 3×9 with adjustable Objective scope! Now a true nail driver!
You could also catch the empty cartridges with your hand, when they are ejected, and then throw them in the bucket beside you. I do that. When I break the barrel, I catch the empty cartridges being ejected.
He only put in 2 for demonstration purposes but most shotguns can hold 1 in the chamber with 5 in the tube. The number of shells a shotgun can hold can also differ if you are using different-sized shells such as 2"3/4 or 3" or 3"1/2. The longer the shell the less ammo that will fit in the tube (you can buy extended tubes for more ammo capacity).
I have a buckshot - does the gold end that's non-founded face me? I've been putting it in with the non-rounded end facing me with the pump shot. I hope that's correct.
With regard to barrel discipline, barrel up or down? Or straight down the range if you’re at an indoor range with baffle ceilings and a concrete floor?
Has anyone accidently jammed their finger when checking the semiautomatic shotgun, when making sure it's empty? I saw how he put his finger in the chamber in the end and wondered of an accidental slide or button press.
When I got my gun, I thought I was told that you can put two additional rounds in the tube, but you're just showing one. Do I remember that incorrectly?
when unloading live rounds I wouldn't be ejecting them onto the ground in case of in the unlikely situation they went off. Eject onto a place where they can't go off.
I've been shooting for over 70 years. And, when I'm done shoot'n I DO look in the chamber......BUT, I don't stick my finger into it! What is the purpose of that when you can SEE it is empty? I've never had an miss-fire in my long 0l' life either.
“Safety nazis” do it so that they remember to empty It every time , because the one time a shell jams (unlikely” then un-jams... idk , it whatever, it sure is dumb but they rather be safe then shot accidentally later...
as someone whos never shot a shotgun, and as a game designer this was very helpful for animation and safety Thank you!
Goes to show why all our shooting games are shit.. get out there and shoot! lol
Perfect. I got the exact knowledge that I needed. I'm a first time pump shotgun owner👍👍
Same. Good luck brotha
Me too, sorta:) Got a Semi-Auto but needed to see this.
Hell yeah brother just bought my first pump shotgun also.

the best beginner shotgun tutorial vid I’ve watched so far.
Very clear and concise
Sir thank you for describing the 3 types of shotguns while emphasizing safety and all times 🙏🏾
Hi Chris. The shot gun looks exactly what my firearms instructor rented to me at the academy I go to. Good slugs!
Just bought my first semi auto, used this as a refresher course and felt so much better knowing EXACTLY how to load this thing 😅ty
1 shell in chamber 1st. & 5 shells in loading tube. Thanks on my 1st 12ga. Pump. 👍
Keep firearm safety videos coming! Love it!
i just bought a Mossberg 590… very great and helpful video
Clear and concise, thanks for posting.
Nice, glad I found this
13 years old,
Don’t have a real shotgun but have a toy shotgun,
Want to load more safer for when I shoot an actual shotgun,
This helped 10/10
I’m also 13
I have two shotguns I would recommend getting a mossberge 500 20 gauge costing about 200 US dollars
Also a 13 year old but i got 2 shotguns lol (real ones btw)
Great video!! No wasted time
Thanks for the video. Majority of the stuff your talking about gun safety is come since
Simple but very informative 🤙🏼
Excellent Video!! , I have a pump action and I couldn't get that pump to move at all now I see why.. thanks
Perfectly teacher. Thank you a lot

Ron Desantis knows guns
Good . Thank you

Is a pump or semi better for first timers? And also does a shogun only hold 2 rounds or did you/he only put 2 for instructions?
He only put in 2 for demonstration purposes but most shotguns can hold 1 in the chamber with 5 in the tube. hi, does not it damages extractor, when breech loading semi-auto and pump action shotgun?
Can you unload the shotgun without having to fire a round ?
@Dat Boi yes
Use the slide release button/lever if you have a pump action.
He did that in the video.
With regard to barrel discipline, barrel up or down? Or straight down the range if you’re at an indoor range with baffle ceilings and a concrete floor?
Me personally I would go with down range.
I’ve been told down range is best.
My shotgun is an more classic model and doesn't appear to have that lever to unload it...how would I unload it?
Has anyone accidently jammed their finger when checking the semiautomatic shotgun, when making sure it's empty? I saw how he put his finger in the chamber in the end and wondered of an accidental slide or button press.
When I got my gun, I thought I was told that you can put two additional rounds in the tube, but you're just showing one. Do I remember that incorrectly?
Which end did you put in first? Which direction? 2:20
2:42 is the silver part of the shotgun shell towards the end or the other way?
Came here to see what Tim Walz did wrong.😊
when unloading live rounds I wouldn't be ejecting them onto the ground in case of in the unlikely situation they went off. Eject onto a place where they can't go off.
Tim Walz should have watched this video before his photo shoot. 🤡🤡🤡
what is the gauge of the shotguns in this video?
Most likely 12guage
In Canada this info is about half of a 10 hour course 😂
1st time owner
he uses the shotgun so safe
that he still worries about spent shotgun shells
I'm watching this while holding my 590 Shockwave
Thank you I can now shoot the home intruder in my living room 👍
Press "R"
4:40 Cool
Why are there 50 dislikes??
Imagine trying to teach me how to load a breach action shotgun
Just in case I end up in a zombie movie i gotta learn
What abt Benelli m4
Press R
HE HAS A 725!!!

Yes and just look at that smoke from just one shot...
Why do these sound so different than in the movies? Just thinking... Have we all been fooled by Hollywood?
They're way louder than they sound in this video, they're so loud that they sorta muffle the speakers
they're much louder in real life. Even a .22 LR sounds louder in real life than this video in
Don’t shoot a 12ga Indoors without ear pro too
Don’t buy a shotgun without a pump, you’ll miss the sound
no one would like to rob him
Nothing.
you can tactile check me
Racking the slide multiple times is pretty unnecessary to ensure it's unloaded. What is with this trend?
That is in case you haven't seen the shell eject from the chamber in a low light or no light situation
“Safety nazis” do it so that they remember to empty It every time , because the one time a shell jams (unlikely” then un-jams... idk , it whatever, it sure is dumb but they rather be safe then shot accidentally later...
I like when he fingers the pump action
I like this one
Great vid
