Falling off the bike is inevitable. It will also likely not be your last. But more importantly and thankfully, there were no injuries or damage to the bike...there is a proper technique to lifting up a heavy bike...alan almost had it right at minute 9:43 but he needed to look upwards to the sky and use the legs to pull himself up...feet should not be under or behind the knees, it should be forward of the knees. But GS is a heavy bike and the soft sand didn't make it easy. Good luck on your journey. Will be rooting for you both.
As a person who just explored & drove in beautiful Norway last year with my wife, picked up a brand new Class 2 adventure bike and loves riding & exploring up north just me & my wife and as SGporeans, WE ARE ROOTING FOR YOU!!! ❤❤❤ Love your video vlogs and please take care both of you always. Too bad my wife is camera shy and all my riding video has never been edited & uploaded to RUclips. Hehe... 🤭 But yeah, you are our inspiration and we do hope you will reach your destination smoothly & safely. Trust me, you will love motorcycle culture in Norway where everyone respects each other, no matter what you ride. 😊
Simply amazing and just love both your positive attitude and light heartedness even with that little tumble, which honestly, can also happen to anyone riding on those road conditions.. good on you guys.. Keep smiling, riding on and stay safe! 😊
Always follow these theory of owning a bike, “If you want to own a bike, make sure you can carry the bike. If you can’t carry the bike then don’t own the bike instead choose a lighter bike that you can carry.”
The key to lifting a GS or a GSA is to seat on the bike but make sure your butt is not lower than your knees. Look skyward and lift the bike by walking your foots back into the bike. Need to practice a few time when you are at the hotel parking lot.
You guys really make great motor travel vlogs, To the Ms., you really did well the talking and story telling part. Keep going, Keep it up 👍🏼 ps: To the Ms, I think your helmet shell is too big for you, In future can try different model with smaller shell size😀
@ Its not about the size Joy, it’s about the shell size. Some models uses only 2 shell sizes to cover Xs to Xxl, while some uses 4 shell sizes to cover Xs to XXL. For example you might be wearing S but she shell size of your helmet also share with L and only your padding is thicker to compensate the space. Hope that explain😉
First obstacle, 😁 and you guys made it! Good job! There will be more to come when you pass Vang Vieng. But, I am sure guys will be fine. Not sure if the KM 9 mountain section has been upgraded yet, but that section of road is the most dangerous between Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang. By the way, the flag in the title is not Laos flag, but Thailand flag. Laos flag is 🇱🇦. I would suggest to add the word Laos next to the flag 🇱🇦 so that people know where or what country you are currently in. Can’t wait for next EP.
I see that you don't have the right tire for the terrain. Try to keep to light gravel. Thank God you both are ok. Drops like that is what they designed the GS for. Great tips from other riders on how to lift up a GS. Stay safe you 2. We'll pray for you.. ❤
Try looking for fuel octane booster. Thats what we use when we rode up. Knowing that the fuel octane level is not as high as required. Try to avoid riding into the night. Roads will be dark and you will be blinded from oncoming vehicles headlights. There will be some areas that has a lot of flying insects that will be road kill by your helmet visor. Especially beside a padi field. Try not wiping with your gloves as it will smudged and blur up the visor. Making visibility worse. I experienced that while riding there. Ride safe. Enjoy the ride
Hi guys..glad both of u safe.. 🙏🙏🙏 btw, as the road will becoming more worst ahead from Laos, i suggest u guys change tyres maybe to Michellin Anakee Adventure Trail @ Dunlop trailmax..more suitable for the road ahead of u guys..but it just my opinion tho..maybe can ask from our experience bikers friends here which is more suitable..as what i can see, your current tyres might quite not suitable..but it just my humble suggestion and opinion..keep up the good video & enjoy your trip guys..please be safe yaaa..much love from Sarawak Borneo ..
These bikes are only good for asphalt unless u have the skills n knowledge n strength. Nowadays, more people opt for lightweight bikes, it's much easier to manage, n u can go almost everywhere. Well, this is the beginning. I wish all the luck on your side. Take care n ride safe to your limits......😊🍻
I have observed Allan is practically lacked of muscle mass and cannot lift a GSA on his own. It is important to build a healthy muscle mass if you want to ride a big bike because you do not want to be stranded and have no one to help you to lift up your bike. I have younger friends in their 30s who cannot lift their bikes even in carparks and riders in their 50s who not only lift their bikes and even help others with theirs. My advice is for Allan to build upper and core muscle mass to compensate for his small frame. It will greatly beneficial to your long journey ahead. A sincere advice from a 55 year old adventure bike rider.
the way you lift the bike is wrong... Alan was doing it right earlier but i guess it is too heavy. :-) I got exactly the same bike... fall down during parking last time and i lifted it alone. by the way...did you change to enduro mode ? Maybe it is also a good idea to lift the bike during your free time. Set it down and try lifting it on your own. Not difficult but i guess the weight is too heavy for some. You are lucky it is not raining in Laos... imagine riding the bike on a muddy road. Laos is well known for that.
Yep definitely watch a video to see the proper way to lift a bike. With the correct technique a solo female rider can do. Practice makes perfect. We have all dropped our bikes. As long as you are OK that's the most important 😊
Youre carrying too much weight. Go through your stuff again and I guarantee you that there are some items that you don't really need. Learn to travel light. Cheers.
Can't lift the bike how to chasing the north have this type of road conditions 😂😂😂I mus bring small bicycle so the pillion can ride..just in case 😂😂😂😂😂❤
wait to you get into India and Hindu Kursh you are going to get roads with rocks and mud, so more falls,,,now you are becoming real biker with your dirty clothes..hahaha
Happy to see the videos are longer now. Congratulations on your first of many more falls. Remember, falling is okay. Just remember to get up! 💪🏼Glad it was soft sand. Next time, try to lift the bike with your back to the seat instead of bending over. Less stress to your back and you have more leverage. Laos roads are really dusty. I remember when I drove through Laos to get into China I had a nosebleed. By the way, coke more superior to pepsi! 😆

Seems like you rode thru a soft sand. No worries. Important is you guys are safe 👍🏻
Yup, nothing serious thankfully!😁
The roads up north were much worse .....beware of the relentless potholes. Glad that the fall wasn't serious.
We will try!😭💪

Sand is painful to ride

Need to ride faster on sand and try not to put too much weight on the front
