@users10116 Boring, but realistic. It doesn't have to be a Michael Bay movie to be worthwhile. It's very hard to craft a great campaign. The stars need to align right for a work of art to be made, given how peevish the current audience is.

There is actually a previous cod game with actual zombies in it in Cold War. If you keep lying, it leads you to the underground ruins where you can't escape, with zombies everywhere
And in Black ops 3 “demon within” you are eventually trapped in a house that gets swarmed with zombies. It wasn’t during a drug trip though, just a regular mind trip
I like how Cold War had MKultra and it actually fit the story. BO6 starts with CIA mission gone wrong and turns into a zombie mind hunter sequence where you are playing as a woman with bipolar dissorder or something trying to remember who killed her parents.
Are you brain dead the zombies weren't real it was just the affects of the cradle messing with cases mind as he trys to find a way to activate the elevator. God you so dumb if you can't handle a little bit of horror just say so
I disagree that the trippy missions are terrible, I honestly loved it. After 20 years of COD, doing something like this is breath of fresh air. With every campaign in the franchise following the same formula of shooting til you win, it's quite nice to have a change of pace and really explore different things
With as much as the CoD devs like doing trippy fantastical themes they really should try making a more out there scifi game and just go absolutely ham with it. Really give that suspension of disbelief a run for its money.
This. This is why I want to try and pitch a cod game, that specifically draws from a mix of military shooter and survival horror. One where the gunplay slowly gets worse, and your forced to ration out ammo. Cod fans would hate it, but it would certainly be a bold maneuver for the team to try and explore.
@@zynet_eseled Or at least do it at a small scale game so its not a massive risk. I love this new cod alot . I been having so much enjoyment with all the game modes like campaign, multiplayer and zombies. The fact that they are all bangers this year is a plus👍
I would say that this is a 7.5 or 8 of a game, cool gameplay and really cool missions, but then i think to the Lab mission and the Harrow one, and the story and i think that the game should be a -7
Honestly from a screenwriter’s (who fell in love with early CoDs for their amazing stories) perspective this campaign was a fucking mess. Totally inconsistent, terrible plot-line development (literally the entire facility arc with Case went nowhere, it’s like they forgot about it), and a nonsensical ending sequence that doesn’t resolve itself and has no setup or payoff. (They literally throw in a deus ex machine last minute with Adler’s crazy schizo drug.) The game’s penultimate mission makes us resolve a side character’s childhood trauma by machine gunning zombies whilst hanging out a helicopter. It’s like this story was written by two separate writing teams who never spoke to each other, and they then gave their respective stories to an editor to weave into a plotline. They had three years to write this? Embarrassing.
@@jacksonconstantine5740 then you would know that the drug he uses on Harrow is a similar but modified version of the one they use on Bell throughout the campaign
The zombie section did remind me one of AW's survival map easter egg, where if you survive to round 10/11 on Riot, you get to play Exo Zombie for just a sec. Definitely seeing the inspiration there, especially with the wrist grapple hook
Second comment, different thought. It felt like this game took pieces of many games and made a "CoD" game. The knife was clearly from Batman. The zombies portion was clearly Doom with the intense music, crazy creatures, and color coded key cards. The mind-altering part reminds me of Metal Gear.
the big sigh with the mannequin walking backwards crab under the roller door spoke volumes. half of the game looks like normal old playable michael bay over the top movie, and the other half looks like a brain rot fueled fever dream for the brain rot generation. thank you for your sacrifice kev

The game is good, at least in my opinion. These asshats will find any reason to trash the game, even the simplest little thing, just to blow it out of proportion. The morons complaining about the “zombies” in the campaign don’t realize that those were “trippy” hallucination missions that are by now a staple of Black Ops campaigns

Just IMAGINE the scene. You're a member of pantheon's special task force, and you're part of a specific unit of 4 man called "Omega squad", and your identification tag is Omega 2. you've been assigned a very simple mission. To rescue a vital importance objective named "Harrow" from her captors, on a small house in the middle of what's basically nowhere. Their team is small, and erratic, so it sounds like an easy rescue mission. "Me and my team could probably complete this in a breeze. Just in, sneak in, kill them, recue the target, and out!" You though to yourself, yet high command decided to assign a very good chunk of the whole taskforce to it, including your squad. "Why would they do that? Is just overkill if you ask me. We could be using those units somewhere else." Says Omega 3, the third member of your team, as you're closing in to the objective on the chopper. "I don't know, but don't lower your guard. I know Harrow is important, but if command assigned this many teams to a single objective, they must be dangerous. Plus, they do have some air support based on our intelligence." Says Omega 1, your squad leader. As you arrive, you recieve the warm welcome of gunfire sounds, as a lot more units had already arrived before your team. You can hear over the radio, "We are under heavy fire! 4 Boggies, on the balcony. Focus all fire on them" Only 4? "Sir, they said they where under heavy fire, but there's only 4? " You asked Omega 1. "You've heard that right soldier. It sounds weird to me too but that's our orders. Move out!" You approached the balcony, and as soon as you got near, you saw what seemed to be a knife, arc-ing perfectly towards another's squad helicopter, and exploding out of the blue with the strenght of a grenade, lucky, it managed to take off before that. Still confused, you took cover right behind a rock, behind the rest of your squad, giving covering fire to them as they approached. You managed to get a glimpse at the objective. 3 of them seemed relatively easy to take on, just like you though, but the other guy... He had some wild eyes, sprinting left and right with a sniper, not giving a f*ck about cover. "What the actual f*ck is up with that guy?", you though. Suddenly, you saw him pull out a knife and throw it, Hitting a barrel, killing almost two whole other teams of the taskforce. Omega 1 was close to the explosion, and got launched off right to the middle of the field, without cover. "Coughts*- Ta-Take cover!", He yelled. 3 took cover besides him, by a crate near, trying to help him. 4 stayed a little more behind near another rock, firing at the balcony, giving 3 the chance to try to help 1. Suddenly, you hear one of the objectives scream something in the background. "I FEEL IT. IS HAPPENING" He was holding out a lazer, pointing for an airstrike, right where 1 was. "RUN! GET OUT OF THERE", you screamed, but no one could hear you. The hellfire was too loud. "I CAN FEEL MY INNER ORANGE TABBY CAT ZOOMIES COMING ON.", While you hear the phrase get cut mid sentence by the airstrike, killing 1, turning him into a red mist, as a cloud of dust covers your view. "AND I CAN'T CONTAIN IT. I CAN'T CONTAIN IT NO MOAR!". You hear, as what appeared to be a head showed itself above the smoke. It was that guy. He jumped straight into the field with a fucking sniper, comming right at you. As his head drops, you can see 3, turning in a panic, when out of the sudden, you see a high caliber penetrate his head. Then, he slides out of the fucking smoke, emptying almost the whole mag on 4, and looking at you. At this point, the camera has gotten off this guy, but his will to kill you, hasn't. He proceeds to murder you, and the whole taskforce, brutally off screen in the most plot armored, scripted way imaginable, without a single of you being able to do anything, to stop it, as his team watches, without hitting a single target. Yes, I got a lot of free time. 48:12 btw

The game’s penultimate mission makes us resolve a side character’s childhood trauma by machine gunning zombies whilst hanging out a helicopter.
It’s like this story was written by two separate writing teams who never spoke to each other, and they then gave their respective stories to an editor to weave into a plotline. They had three years to write this? Embarrassing.
